As they say, April showers brings May flowers and the yard work begins! Even better, we can dust off the ole golf clubs and hit the links and get our golf game going (or in my case the hacking can start). Some Society news: The 2016 Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) exam will be held on March 31, 2016 and April 1, Registration for the exam is now closed. This is a revised and updated version of the study guide. Only the print version will be allowed into the testing center on exam day. ASPE is looking for committee members to help in developing an American National Standard on water temperature and control. Bill Deardurff Vice President Legislative IAPMO launches a drought toolkit to help manage water efficiently The Drought Toolkit features resources that can help communities realize more than 20 percent in water savings in their built environments. ARCSA collaborates with Gaia College to offer rainwater harvesting training The new online course, "Rainwater Harvesting and Management," complies with ARCSA's curriculum requirements, including lessons on the design and installation standard ARCSA/ASPE/ANSI 63: Rainwater Catchment Systems. Don t forget that if you are on this year s CPD renewal cycle, your form and payment are due by April 30, The cost is $50.00 to renew your CPD certification. So don t be late because all kinds of bad things will happen! Upcoming Chapter events: The golf outing is scheduled for June 21, 2016 at the Golf Club of Dublin. As always we need sponsors and golfers to make this a success. So everybody shake the dust off your clubs and get ready for one of the best golf outings of the year! There will be a sporting clays shoot at Blackwing in October. The outing is an allday event which will include lunch, shooting the course in the afternoon and some side games. As more information becomes available we will pass it along i.e. cost, date, time, sponsor information and cost, etc. Mark Simpson Chapter President Some Chapter news: Just a reminder that last year the Chapter Board voted to revise the election of Chapter Board members from the one year cycle we had been on forever to the two-year cycle that the Society Board follows. So good new everyone there will be no elections this May so there won t be any Board members making the rounds strong arming you to put your name on the ballot. 6

Region 2 Affiliate Report In my article last month, I told you about The State of The Society video presentation by Mitch Clemente. I hope you had a chance to view it. If not, please visit this YouTube link to watch his ASPE video, There is a wealth of knowledge packed into one-half hour. Left standing in the Sweet 16 round of the ASPE Chapter Membership Tournament, we have Philadelphia and Toronto. Eastern Michigan lost to Philly by just 0.68%. It is nice to know our remaining Chapters in contention are on opposite sides of the bracket. Philly takes on Kansas City and Toronto takes on Virginia Blue Ridge to enter the Elite 8. Come-on Region 2, we are rooting for you. Apprentices lining up to register and visit vendors. If you read, the recent ASPE Pipeline last week you might have read about a cat that slipped out of the bag prior to an official press release, so I can now inform you that ASPE and NSF International have signed an MOU. Under this agreement, both organizations will work cooperatively on many fronts and are very excited to give ASPE members access to so much new information. We can elaborate on this opportuntity once the press release is official. Stay tuned. I travelled to Evansville, IN recently to take part in the third annual joint ASPE-JATC trade show at the UA Local 136 training center. It was an incredible event. There were upwards of 425 apprentices, instructors, and building officials that visited our manufacturers. I was honored to able to take part in this event. It was such a huge success; make plans to attend the fourth annual joint ASPE-JATC trade show in Evansville. To top off the week, I was invited to present an In- Depth Look into NSF to our Evansville ASPE members. I count my blessings every day.
