1 - Member Guest - s - Rule of the Month - Junior Club -Club Championship - Big Thanks - Junior Golf - Couples Golf - Employee Spotlight - Hole In One - Upcoming Events - Membership Rep. CONGRATULATIONS! To Our 2012 Men s Member Guest Champions Tommy and Russell Sippel! The Men s Member Guest went off without a hitch this year! We had 42 teams total in the tournament and a great time was had by all. The weekend started off with the team alternate shot putting contest under the lights with Jim Edmonds and Jessie Baldwin taking the win! The next day the tournament kicked off and the competition heated up. In the end it was Jim Edmonds and Jesse Baldwin vs. Tommy and Russell Sippel in a playoff on #9 with the Sippels taking the overall championship. Thanks to all who participated this year and we hope to see you again next year! Fox Run Country Club 215 Club Drive Simpsonville, SC (864)
2 We Still Need s We are asking that all members give us your in the golf shop, so that we can better communicate with you. If you are receiving billing statements, but are not getting tournament info and reminders, we need your in the shop. Please stop by ASAP and update your with us. RULE OF THE MONTH Loose Impediments The first thing you must know is what constitutes a Loose Impediment. The definition of a loose impediment: they are natural objects that are not fixed, solidly embedded, growing, or adhering to the ball. *Things like leaves, twigs, stones, insects, and similar objects are loose impediments. A live insect may be removed from a ball because it wouldn t be considering adhering to it. *Sand and loose soil are only loose impediments while on the putting green.*natural ice and snow are either loose impediments or casual water at the player s option. *Manufactured ice is an obstruction. LOOSE IMPEDIMENTS MAY BE MOVED OR REMOVED WITHOUT PENALTY! EXCEPTIONS: A loose impediment may not be moved, removed, or touched if (i) both the loose impediment and ball lie in or touch the same hazard. Example, you cannot remove a pine cone behind your ball from a bunker. (ii) While a ball is in motion, you cannot move a loose impediment that may effect or influence the movememt of the ball. Example, you cannot remove a stone in the way of a moving ball. (iii) Other than on the putting green, if a player s ball moves after a loose impediment within one club length of the ball has been moved or even touched by the player, the ball must be replaced with the player incurring a one stroke penalty. PENALTY: for moving a loose impediment when not permitted LOSS OF HOLE--MATCH PLAY; TWO- STROKES--STROKE PLAY. NOTE--there is no penalty if the ball moves while on the putting green when removing a loose impediment, the ball must be replaced.

We look for a good turnout so do not wait to get signed up!! Tony s Golf Course Update July and August has certainly been a busy time at golf maintenance, with a number of outside tournaments and member events we have found ourselves very busy these last two months. Some very big news for the grounds department, we were approved and have received two new pieces of equipment along with 5 new satellite boxes for our irrigation system. Honestly I m not sure which acquisition I am more excited about but here we go. We have a new and much improved rough mower, which allows us to mow the entire rough in a day and a half as opposed to 4 days with the old mower. We also purchased a new greens roller which is a vibratory tri-plex system; this will help us obtain smoother ball roll, and a truer putting surface. The irrigation boxes allow us to do so much more with our irrigation system than we were ever even able to imagine. We are so excited moving forward and want to extend our appreciation for all the member support that has made all this possible. Thank all of you so very much. I look forward to seeing you on the course, and as always please stop me with any comments, concerns or questions and I will be happy to talk to each and every one of you. Sincerely Tony Bisbee Golf Course Superintendent Fox Run Country Club.
