2 President s Message Dear Members, November marks the beginning of colder weather, but the course looks great and the greens are rolling smoother and faster everyday. Jason and his crew are working hard everyday to provide the best playing surface for the membership. The Annual Membership meeting was held on October 17 th. Reports were given by the officers and department heads and the overall consensus was that MCC has a positive & productive year. Our Membership overwhelmingly approved our new board members; Mary Lynn Dickey, Todd Holcomb & Bill Collins. Also, the response to the bunker renovation was very positive and Jason and his crew will begin work this month. Thank you for your support and we will be keeping you informed on the progress of the renovation. The Board will be starting the budget process for Our goal is to approve a budget that has a positive net 1612 operating income, while maintaining the course and the Club in the condition we deserve. This is not an easy task, but the Board and staff of Maumelle CC are committed to operating the Club efficiently. In closing I would like to encourage everyone to come on out, bring your guests and enjoy the course and fall weather. Also, please remember to fix your ball marks and divots. Your President, Mary Lynn Dickey Prepaid Dues Discount for 2007 The Board of Directors approved a 5% discount for members who wish to prepay their 2007 dues. Prepaid dues must be paid Your President, by November 30, 2006 to receive the 5% discount. After November 30 th, the discount will not be available. Royce LoBianco By pre-paying your dues, you save money and lower your monthly bill, and you help the Club during a time when the cash flow situation is tight. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please send a separate check for the total of 12 months dues less the 5% discount plus 8% sales tax, or if you would like the option of paying by credit card please notify the accounting office. Net amount of prepaid dues: Savings: Members - $195/month dues (Full Active & Corporate) $ $ Members - $180/month dues (Senior & Weekday Morning) $ $ Members - $150/month dues (Junior II & Corporate Junior II) $ $97.20 Members - $125/month dues (Junior I & Corporate Junior I) $ $81.00 Members - $100/month dues (Non-Resident) $ $64.80 Members - $40/month dues (Social) $ $25.92 The monthly assessment is not available for pre-pay. This is a variable monthly assessment that is reviewed and adjusted quarterly. It is the goal of the Board of Directors and management to continue to attract new members and business to the Club in order to lower the monthly assessment.

3 Manager s Message With the end of daylight savings time the golf season is winding down, but the food & beverage department is gearing up for a very busy holiday banquet season. The Club has numerous private parties, banquets and receptions scheduled during the months of November & December. Please reference your newsletter & calendar for any changes to the hours of operation. The Board and staff have started the process of preparing the 2007 budget. Each department is working hard to project actual revenues and keep a tight grip on expenses. As we prepare to enter 2007, we will continue to pursue new members and business for the Club. As always, we need your help in recruiting new members and making them feel welcome to the Club. Make sure and take advantage of the Prepaid Dues Discount as mentioned in this month s newsletter. The Board has approved a 5% discount if paid by November 30 th. If you would like to save some dough, let the accounting office know. Thanks to everyone who attended the Maumelle CC Oktoberfest on October 13 th. The weather was beautiful, the food and drink was very tasty and the band was OUTSTANDING! I have heard nothing but 2035 positive comments from members and guests about the event and they can t wait until next year! Special thanks to our sponsors Maumelle Exxon, Metro Builders Supply, Lake Liquor, Ben E. Keith, Sysco, Harbor Distributing & Golden Eagle, and to all of the volunteers! We couldn t have done it without you, thanks again! Congratulations to the following Employees of the Month August Mike Fletcher (Golf Course Mechanic), September Kristina Root (Mixed Grill Server) & October Lloyd Walker (Kitchen). I would like to also recognize Mr. Wayne Reed, who celebrated his 20 th year with MCC. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication! Cimarron Grubb General Manager Golf Course Update What beautiful weather! This has been a great early fall, almost perfect for growing bent grass. The greens are really making a rally and are getting better everyday. If the weather continues the greens should be close to normal by December. Thank you for your patience concerning the temporary green on ten and the poor condition of 13 green, these too are improving everyday 193 and will be back before you know it. I hope to be able to open 10 green in December, but we will have to wait and see. The Greens Committee and I do not want to open it before it is ready. By mid November our bunker project will be well underway. We will be doing one hole at a time and usually one bunker at a time. We do not plan on disrupting play and if Mother Nature treats us right we will be complete by the end of February. I personally am looking forward to presenting the Membership with a much improved golf course! Have a great round! Jason Baker, GCS

4 From the Pro Shop With daylight savings time ending, please make a note of the following changes as of Sunday, October 29th: Golf Shop Hours of Operation 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Driving Range Hours of Operation 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. on Sunday) Tee times may be made for the weekend starting at 8:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 2 nd. Members may reserve a tee time by internet, phone or in person. When calling for a tee time, please dial (GOLF). With the possibility of frost in the mornings, the first available time is subject to change based on the weather conditions. The 2006 Swingaroo Member-Guest Tournament was a huge success! From the weather to the food & entertainment, everyone who participated enjoyed the event. Special thanks to the Tournament Committee and staff for all the hard work. The 5 th Annual Mayor s Cup was held October 14 th & 15 th. After two days of tough match play, the Cup was won by CC of Arkansas with a victory of 21 ½ - 14 ½! The score is now MCC 3 CCA 2. Congratulations to all the team members who played hard to try retain the Cup! Let s get em next year! The 2006 Eskimo Tournament is scheduled for December 9 th & 10 th. Entry forms are available in the Pro Shop or on-line. Sign up ASAP the first 36 paid entries will be accepted. With Christmas right around the corner, the Pro Shop staff is on hand to assist you with all of your holiday needs. Make plans to attend the Pro Shop Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 5 th from 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Complimentary wine & beer, along with a few tasty snacks will be provided while you shop. ***Reminder ALL Pro Shop credit must be used by December 31 st *** Pro Shop credit won in the Eskimo Tournament will be extended through January 31 st, 2007 During the cold months, please adhere 2521 to the dress code policy of no jeans on the golf course driving range and putting green. 5 MGA News As we wind Cimarron up another & Wade MGA season, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the MGA events throughout the year. Your participation made all events successful and helped with several projects on the golf course. We look forward to another active and successful 2007 MGA season. ***Reminder*** Each male MCC member will be billed the $30.00 annual membership fee in December 2006 for the 2007 MGA season. This will eliminate the need to sign up. Any MCC member (including socials) that does not want to be a MGA member in 2007 will simply notify the accounting office and the charge will be removed. Your $30.00 annual dues gets you an instant hole in one bonus of $ cash (when you make a hole in one at Maumelle CC), an immediate $10.00 Pro Shop credit and $20.00 goes toward MGA projects at our club. Linda Johnston will be taking the helm for 2007, and I know she will be a great president. During November and December, we will have informal play days on Wednesdays, starting at 10:00a.m., weather permitting. Watch for reminders. The late fee will be assessed as in accordance with the Club s bylaws (Article IV, Section 5).
