14 Daniel Gonzales Daniel Gonzales has been with the Club at Carlton Woods for the past 9 years. Daniel has been the rock of our golf staff and a valuable commodity to our team throughout. Daniel is in charge of training and managing our outside hosts, merchandising, instructional clinics, club fitting, along with being the ultimate team player for our operation. Daniel gives a remarkable personal experience for every member and guest that arrives on our property. Daniel has researched and put more time into becoming a master club fitter at the club and with the recent departure of our Director of Instruction, Daniel has taken over both of our weekly clinics for women and juniors. Daniel is an elite assistant golf professional and the best that I have had the privilege to be around in my 11 years in the business and at Carlton Woods. I have read through countless resumes and referral letters over my career, and everyone is the best and has the most responsibility from their chosen club. I will tell you without doubt being a member of this section for 10 years that there is not a more deserving candidate for this award than Daniel Gonzales. He is not on a committee nor does he play in section events and is likely unknown to a better part of the STPGA. This should not discount the role he plays at our club and his value to growing the game of golf. My opinion and vote on this award would be to honor a golf professional that is not there for the photograph at the end, but rather the golf professional behind the scenes that ensures the people in the photo are smiling. Mr. Gonzales is that pro, and all of the awards that our club has received over the years have been a direct result of Daniel being a part of the process. Please consider Mr. Daniel Gonzales for the Assistant Golf Professional of the Year, there is no one more deserving to be recognized for their hard work and effort that everyone is not privy to seeing. Daniel is a very special person and the hardest working professional at The Club at Carlton Woods. I would ask before you vote, please reflect on what this award means and to whom the most admirable candidate would be. Jason Alexander
15 To the STPGA Awards committee, I have had the privilege of working with Daniel Gonzales for the last seven years. Daniel has been our First Assistant at the Club for three years. When I think about what it is to be a golf professional, it all boils down to taking care of people; whether it is managing the staff to ensure great service to the membership, providing a fun environment for members and their kids to learn golf, spending countless hours at home reading up on the newest technologies and teaching methods, or just taking the time to show someone you care. I can t think of someone who better defines all of the great qualities a PGA Assistant Professional should have. Daniel runs the outside operation. He hires and trains all of our employees. With the loss of Corey this year he is handling our ladies clinics and junior golf program. He is also in charge of scheduling our demo days and is our main club-fitter. Not to mention that he runs our ladies golf association, a job in itself. The personal touch Daniel gives our members every day, the way he anticipates their needs, and delivers without fail is truly amazing to watch. He is a fantastic example to all of our employees and his peers how a professional should treat his/her members and coworkers. Carlton Woods would be a different place without his presence every day. This March he organized a 13-vendor demo day on the range. He had one of our members who owns a dealership sponsor the day. We had five high-end Mercedes Benz parked on the range and around the putting green. We had bars and food action stations on the range all paid for by the dealership. It was one big party on the range with members trying all the latest and greatest equipment, much like the demo day at the merchandise show. He walked around and interviewed the members after they had tried some of the new clubs. He put together a video recap of the day, and sent it out to the membership for those who missed the event. He also worked with our member to raffle off some items so everyone had a chance to win something. We gave away 20 dozen Pro V1 balls, and four spots in the Insperity Pro-Am along with other items. As a result of demo day bash the club sold over 50k in hard goods that day. This is just one example of how Daniel adds value to our Club and membership. It is truly a pleasure to work with someone who pushes you every day to be your best. I can t think of anyone who is more deserving to be recognized for their efforts. If the application process allowed members to write letters of recommendation, you wouldn t have time to read them all at your meeting. Thank you for considering Daniel Gonzales as Assistant Professional of the year. If he is chosen, no one in the section will be surprised. Regards, Emile Asous Head Golf Professional The Club at Carlton Woods

I believe our golf shop is able to be so successful not only due to my hard work but by the team that I have surrounding me. Ryan Polzin, our Head Golf Professional, has done an amazing job setting myself, and my professional co-workers up with a foundation for success not only for our roles here but our future career endeavors. It is that foundation that allows me to contribute to achievements such as Chapter Merchandiser of the Year, Titleist Advanced Fitting Center, and Ping Top 100 club fitter. The final accomplishment that I am proud of is my contributions to growing the game. As a former junior golf competitor, I recognize the valuable lessons that golf has taught me and it is important to me to pay it forward to this generation. When I first came to Royal Oaks our junior golf program was good but I am proud to say that I, along with my team, have continued to grow the program each year.

Include a brief description of accomplishments related to this award: I am a Class A PGA Professional since July of I hold this accomplishment very high on my list. The poster listed about twenty things however one stood out the most to me, Tireless Promoter of Golf. I keep that poster close and try to uphold all the badges that make me a PGA Golf Professional. I am very blessed to be considered as your Assistant Golf Professional of the year, and want to thank all of you for this opportunity. I have always tried to follow in the footsteps of my two successors in this position, Aaron Chilek and Heath Martin. They both play a vital role in my professionalism as a Golf Professional. Dale Morgan has been such a great Leader, and father figure in my tenure at Austin Country Club. He is such a promoter of the PGA of America, and bleeds blue and gold. I hope to follow in his footsteps as my career blossoms. I cannot thank him enough, as this application to STPGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year is solely due to his great advisory.
