All will be decided at the The Evian Championship, which organizes the official ceremony on Saturday 16 September and pays tribute to the champions in contention before crowning the winner at the end of the tournament. 6 SPORTING EXCELLENCE - 06 PLAYERS, THE WORLD S BEST In 2017, the new generation continues to impose its frenzied pace and great enthusiasm on women's world golf. In a battle between young talents where nothing can be taken for granted, about-faces and drama are part of the game! After over a year and a half as the world number 1, Lydia Ko (aged 21) lost her ranking to Ariya Jutanugarn (aged 21), the first Thai player to reign in the Rolex Rankings further to her win in Canada, who then herself was overtaken by So Yeon Ryu (aged 26) who took the reins of the world rankings, notably after winning the ANA Inspiration. This makes the beautiful Korean a serious contender in the race for the Rolex Annika Major Award. But there are 10 other players behind them in the starting blocks who have their sights set on the the title of champion of champions, in particular Sung Hyun Park, In-Kyung Kim and Danielle Kang, all three winners of a Major this year. As for the winner of The Evian Championship 2016, In Gee Chun (aged 23) is keeping the momentum going, currently 5 th place in the world rankings. Wonderful energy which is totally in keeping with The Evian Championship Galaxy and the tournament's ambition to accompany young talents to the very top of the game. SO YEON RYU World N 1 Korea - age 26 A six-times winner on the Korean Tour, there was no stopping So Yeon Ryu at the US Women s Open This, her first win and first Major win, enabled her to obtain her LPGA Tour card 2012 at the end of which she received the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year title. With two other wins to her name and and a 2 nd place finish at The Evian Championship 2016, this lovely Korean was more than ready to get 2017 off to a flying start. So Yeon Ryu has played very consistently and took a shot at her 2 nd Major title in a play-off at the ANA Inspiration and did it again to win the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. The Korean is leading the points for the Rolex Annika Major Award and is currently 2 nd on the US Money List.

7 SPORTING EXCELLENCE - 07 Sung Hyun Park World N 2 Korea - age 23 We were introduced to this incredible rookie at The Evian Championship For the young Korean with already 10 KLPGA titles under her belt, it was her first participation in a Major and she finished runner-up. The impressive Sung Hyun Park has made her mark on the 2017 season with a Major victory, the US Women s Open, followed by 2 nd place at the Canadian Pacific Women's Open. Her performances, awe-inspiring form and 1 st place on the US Money List make her one of the favorites. LEXI THOMPSON World N 3 USA - age 22 Lexi Thompson is one of the great players brought to the attention of the public in Evian when she finished 2 nd in the Evian Masters At the age of just 15! The tone was set and since then the lovely American has ridden on the waves of success: 8 wins including a Major at the age of 19, the Nabisco Kraft Championship She very quickly took her place in the World Top 5 and the player, who is also a Rolex Testimonee, got social media buzzing during the first Major of Whilst on her way to victory at the ANA Inspiration, Lexi was to be subsequently denounced by a TV viewer. Full of fight despite 4 penality points, she made it to the play-off but in the end was defeated by So Yeon Ryu. Her tears were seen around the world, inciting the Royal & Ancient to revise this rule. She has since won the Kingsmill Championship taking her back up to 3 rd place in the world rankings. IN GEE CHUN World N 5 Korea - age 23 One of the leaders of this young generation of players and whose success is not measured by her age. At the age of just 20, In Gee Chun claimed her first major, the US Women s Open 2015, and rapidly entered the Top 10 in the world rankings. She is the first player in history to have won 3 Majors on 3 different Tours in the same year (USA, Korea, Japan). Her second demonstration came in 2016! The Korean won the Evian Championship hands down, her 2 nd Major. This performance meant that at the end of 2016 she was crowned Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year and winner of the Vare Trophy (lowest scoring average).

8 SPORTING EXCELLENCE - 08 IN-KYUNG KIM World N 7 Korea - age 29 In-Kyung Kim quickly took her place on the LPGA Tour just after turning pro in 2006, and has 7 victories to her name including a Major. The 29-year-old player is undoubtedly the most French of the Koreans... Thanks to her caddy who has accompanied her during her successes this year. He is no other than Axel Bettan, husband of LET player Sophie Giquel-Bettan, and former caddy to Romain Langasque. A collaboration that produces results with 3 wins between June and August 2017 on the LPGA Tour including a Major, the Ricoh Women's British Open. This win also means she is at the top of the European rankings and 5 th on the US Money List. LYDIA KO World N 8 New Zealand - age 20 At the age of just 20, Lydia Ko continues to notch up records. The youngest world number 1 in golfing history (2015), and also the youngest player to have won a Major (The Evian Championship 2015), followed by a second (ANA Inspiration 2016) and the youngest Rolex Player of the Year (2015), the New Zealand prodigy went from one success to another in 2016 with a total of 14 wins. Silver medal winner at the Rio Olympics, Lydia Ko completed her season by receiving the prestigious Rolex Annika Major Award, which crowns the champion of champions in the Majors. A slight drop in form currently places her 8 th in the world. A new challenge that Lydia will be set on taking up. Her immense talent and her youthful enthusiasm combined with her passion for life and her boldness have led her to become a Rolex Testimonee and an international sports ambassador for evian. KARINE ICHER French N 1 France - age seems to agree with Karine Icher, who flies the French colors in the USA. The French number 1 has had a series of good results in the States, in particular a 4 th -place finish at the Kya Classic, a 10 th -place finish at the ANA Inspiration (the first major of the season) and 5 th place at the Lorena Ochoa Match Play. Currently ranked 46 th in the world, Karine, who was a member of the French team at the Rio Olympics, is 33 rd on the US Money List. The amateur world champion 1999 has 5 European wins to her name. 9 A SPRINGBOARD FOR THE FUTURE - 09 CHALLENGES IN 2017 A policy of developing world golf remains central to the challenges of the 24 th edition of The Evian Championship. The opportunity to reassert the desire of its chairman, Franck Riboud, to use the event s exposure and power to create an international springboard for the next generation of players in world golf. A closer look at the new actions put into place to aid golf s future. QUALIFIERS WITH GLOBAL REACH, 5 SPOTS TO BE WON New, the European Qualifiers take place at the Jabra Ladies Open, on a rise as it becomes a stage on the LETAS. The top 2 players qualify for The Evian Championship 2017: Isabelle Boineau (FRA) and Johanna Gustavsson (SWE). The US Qualifiers awarded two spots following the PHC Classic on the Symetra Tour early August to Brittany Marchand (Can) and Marion Ricordeau (Fra). A specific event called the Evian Challenge has been created for the Asian Qualifiers, and includes two tournaments and a final held between 26 June and 7 August, further to which Do-Yeon Kim (Kor) received her ticket for The Evian Championship. AWARDING OF A NEW WILDCARD, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AGJA A partnership agreement has just been signed between Evian and the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). A host of actions are being implemented that totally resonate with the ambition to use the Evian Championship platform to aid the development of young talents, offering them the best support in their sport and promoting the emergence of champions. To this avail, a new wildcard has been awarded to the Rolex Girls Junior Player of the Year 2016, with young amateur Paphangkorn Tavatanakit (aged 17), Thai number 1 amateur, is an UCLA college player. Aside from this partnership, three other wildcards have been awarded to Albane Valenzuela (Swi, amateur world n 3), Agathe Laisné (Fra, European amateur champion 2017) and Natalie Gulbis (USA). GROWTH OF THE EVIAN CHAMPIONSHIP PLATFORM DEDICATED TO YOUNG TALENTS The Evian Championship platform has really taken off with the creation of new events specifically for the top international amateurs planned at the Evian Resort Golf Club, both this year and in The main feature of the partnership with the AJGA is the creation of a new mixed tournament for under 18s. The Evian Junior Event, organized at the Evian Resort Golf Club in October of this year, will enable the formation of Team France, comprising the event s top 8 players (6 boys, 2 girls). The selected players will then be given the opportunity to compete in the Evian International & Senior Showcase in Las Vegas where they could be spotted by the leading US college coaches. Further big news: the Evian Resort Golf Club is to host the Arnold Palmer Cup in July It will be the 22 nd edition of this major confrontation between 2 mixed college teams, a US team versus an international one. These events complete the structure already in place for young players, a logical continuation of the Haribo Kids Cup (8 to 12 year-olds) and Evian Championship Juniors Cup (under 14s).

The quality of the Major championship course and the Academy, a unique training center which becomes the players practice center and the site devoted to the Golfing Experience open to the general public during the event, totally resonate with its status as a Major and the excellence of its hotels. EVIAN RESORT GOLF CLUB THE MAJOR COURSE The Major championship course at the Evian Resort Golf Club, which was totally redesigned in 2013, continues to mature and to receive great care and attention from greenkeeper Adrien Petrocelli and his teams throughout the year. Quality remains one of the main objectives, so that all players, from The Evian Championship s champions through to amateur golfers, are given an experience that lives up to its Major status. WORKS IN 2017 Further to complete renovation of the bunkers last year, the course has undergone more specific, strategic works. Four holes have been reshaped: complete resign of the collar and alterations to the chipping zone to improve the approach on hole 2; the tee shot landing area on hole 4; total modification of the green on holes 12 and 15. In terms of tournament facilities, the natural seating areas around hole 18 will be increased in size, benefiting spectators. An additional floor will be erected above facilities at hole 5 to create a new VIP area. THE HÔTEL ROYAL NAMED A "PALACE" By receiving the prestigious "Palace" distinction, the Hôtel Royal becomes part of the elite. The announcement was made last November by Matthias Fekl, at that time Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French nationals abroad. By receiving the highest distinction in the 5-star hotel category, the Hôtel Royal becomes one of the 23 French palaces. A CHAMPION FOR THE EVIAN RESORT Golf pro, Sébastien Gros, becomes an ambassador for the Evian Resort Golf Club. This longhitter, one of the longest in the world and several times winner on the ALPS Tour and Challenge Tour where he finished runner-up in 2015, currently plays on the European Tour after a good season in One to watch...
