9 FIXTURE BOOKLET_approved_2018_Layout 1 22/03/ :45 Page 9 FORREST LITTLE GOLF CLUB CLUB NOTICES Dress Code: All members and visitors are expected to maintain an acceptable code of dress both on the golf course and in the clubhouse. Clubhouse: Neat dress is essential at all times. The following are not permitted to be worn in the clubhouse at any time: baseball caps, hats, track suit tops or bottoms, sleeveless vests or tops football and cycle shorts. Only tailored shorts are acceptable within the confines of the clubhouse. Golf Shoes may be worn in the locker room area only. Children under 15 years must be supervised by parents/guardians at all times within the club area and can not be in the Bar area after 9pm. Members MUST sign in their guests in the visitor s book immediately on arrival. COURSE Dress Code: Golf shoes with soft spikes must be worn. Sleeveless shirts, vests, denim jeans, tracksuit tops and bottoms are not allowed. The folding of trousers into socks is only allowed when worn under overtrousers. Tailored shorts may be worn. Football and cycle shorts are not acceptable. Socks must be worn when wearing shorts. Metal Spikes: As a matter of policy Metal Spikes are not permitted on the course at any time. During the months from November to March exceptions may be made for members by prior approval of the Secretary Manager. Poll-Forking: Week Commencing 3rd September 2018 (Check Notice Board) A programme of poll-forking and top-dressing may take place during the above week, weather permitting. Play may be disrupted during this week for this necessary maintenance. These arrangements are, of course, subject to change due to weather and ground conditions. FIXTURE LIST 2018/2019 9

After 10.00am normal standards of etiquette, courtesy and co-operation extended to fellow golfers should continue to prevail to the Course Staff (named below). Course Staff: Ciaran Houlihan; Kevin Mulhall; Conor O Donoghue; Sean O Donoghue Mobile Phones: Member and visitors are asked to refrain from using mobile phones in the restaurant, main lounge and member s lounge except when necessitated by an emergency. The use of mobile phone use is prohibited on the course except in the event of an emergency. Outings and Fixture Lists: At time of going to press all outings and times allotted are included in the fixtures. In the event of late changes to fixtures, members will be informed in advance where possible. However, members should check the website and/or the notice boards each week for late inclusions or changes to the approved fixtures. Timesheets: On the day of the competition members should check in with the Pro Shop at least 15 minutes before their start time. Any member whose name is inserted on the BRS time sheet, and who fails to turn up, will be charged in full the entry fee for that competition. Members are permitted to remove their names from the timesheet up to 6pm on the eve of the competition with no liability for entry fee. 10 FIXTURE LIST 2018/2019

12 FIXTURE BOOKLET_approved_2018_Layout 1 22/03/ :45 Page 12 FORREST LITTLE GOLF CLUB COURSE ETIQUETTE & MAINTENANCE Players should, at all times, adhere to guidelines on course etiquette as detailed in Section 1 of the Rules of Golf. Players should note that disqualification or suspension is allowed for under Rule 33-7 in the event of serious breach of etiquette. The greens & course committee is fully committed to providing you, the members, with a course of the best possible quality for as long a period as possible during the full season. To help keep the course in good condition we are appealing to the members for help at a number of levels. Firstly volunteers who would help in clearing some unsightly areas around the course and upgrading and tidying the flower beds around the clubhouse. However, the general maintenance of the course is a collegiate responsibility. You should at all times: MAINTAIN THE PACE OF PLAY REPAIR PITCH MARKS ON GREENS REPLACE ALL DIVOTS CAREFULLY RAKE ALL BUNKERS AFTER USE LEAVING RAKE IN BUNKER In addition please ensure you: USE THE SAND AND SEED PROVIDED AT EACH TEE TO REPAIR DIVOTS. DISPOSE OF ALL LITTER IN THE RUBBISH BINS SITUATED ON TEES RETURN TROLLEYS TO THE DESIGNATED PARKING AREA AFTER PLAY. 12 FIXTURE LIST 2018/2019

Members/Visitors over the age of 65 Such members may use buggies on the course, subject to adhering to the regulations listed below. 2. Members/Visitors under the age of 65 and over 18 years The use of buggies is subject to adhering to the following bye-laws. Members or visitors in charge of buggies must hold a current drivers license. Members or visitors may use a buggy in competitions including opens / semi-opens, invitations and classics with the exception of those specifically listed below. All Ladies & Mens Monthly Medal Competitions. ( March to October ) Ladies & Mens P.G.A.Tankard. Ladies & Mens Captains Prize. Ladies Captains Prize to Men. Captains Prize to Ladies. Mens & Ladies Presidents Prize. Presidents Prize to Ladies Mens & Ladies Vice- Captains Prize. Professional Prize to Men & Ladies. Scratch Cups: Junior Intermediate. Club Cup - Allshire Cup Hamill Cup Club Mixed Foursomes (Qualifying & Matchplay) Challenge Cup and Phoenix Trophy. Other competitions which the Committee/Council may specifically designate. People under the age of 65 and over 18 wishing to use buggies in the above competitions must present a current doctors certificate detailing the reason for buggy use. Partners, or fellow competitors, playing with persons using buggies may not be carried or have their clubs carried, in the buggy during competitions (unless they are entitled to the use of a buggy). For GUI & ILGU Competitions please refer to their respective tournament conditions booklets. 3. Course Rules in relation to use of Buggies The Course Superintendent may prohibit the use of buggies, when, in his opinion, the condition of the course so warrants it. Drivers shall obey the signs governing their use. Buggies must not be taken on to the tees or on approaches or surrounds to the greens. Buggies must be driven on paths where provided. BUGGY OWNERS All buggy owners are subject to the byelaws governing their use. From 26th January 2009 potential owners must first obtain prior approval from the club to store his/her buggy. All owners must have their buggy details recorded by the Club. A golf buggy is deemed to be a motorised vehicle under the Road Traffic Act and, as such, must be insured, covering personal liability, fire, and theft. Evidence of such insurance must be submitted annually to the club. You must sign a disclaimer, absolving the club of any liability for damage caused to, or by the buggy. The Club will issue badges identifying authorised owners and these, as well as current membership badges, must be displayed on buggies. Buggies are parked at Owners Risk on all club property. Buggies must always be maintained in prime mechanical condition and the club may seek assurance of this at any time. Buggies must have a lock/clamp, or other disabling device fitted, to prevent unauthorized use or theft. You will be responsible for the removal from club property of buggies no longer in use, due to failure or any other cause. 14 FIXTURE LIST 2018/2019

15 FIXTURE BOOKLET_approved_2018_Layout 1 22/03/ :45 Page 15 FORREST LITTLE GOLF CLUB COMPETITION NOTICE 1. Competitors must check in with the Pro-Shop before commencing play in all competitions. In singles competitions you must ensure that your GUI/ILGU card has been swiped prior to playing in all 18 holes single competitions. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. A competition is deemed to be over when the result is announced. It is the player s responsibility to ensure his/her correct handicap is on their score card. 2. Except when a Time Sheet is in operation, or an exception has been advertised in advance, competitors playing on Saturday or Sunday competitions must commence play not later than 4.00pm. 3. All competition cards must clearly show the competitor s name, handicap, the gross score at each hole and the signature of the competitor and marker. Cards must be fully completed before entering the Clubhouse or Locker Room after finishing play. Completed competition cards must be posted in the special box set aside for that purpose within 30 minutes of completion of the competition or if two competitions are being played 30 minutes after the latter competition being completed. 4. Competition cards must be filled in on the course after each hole has been played. In exceptional circumstances where it is deemed advisable to submit a copy, the original card must be posted with the copy, the latter clearly marked COPY. In all competitions scorecards must be marked by a player with an official GUI/ILGU handicap. In the case of a Juvenile marker they must be eligible to compete in the competition for which the card is being marked. 5. Competitors must be a member 12 months to be eligible to win the Captain s Prize or President s Prizes. All members must have competed in a minimum of three Qualifying Competitions during the current season in order to be eligible to win the Captain s Prize or President s Prize. 6. On any day when a mixed stroke play competition follows another competition, practice will be permitted on the competition course, prior to competing in the mixed stroke competition. Outside of competitions, and unless otherwise determined by the committee, priority on the course is determined by a group s pace of play. Any group playing a whole round is entitled to pass a group playing a shorter round. The term group includes a single player. If a match fails to keep its place on the course by losing more than one clear hole on the players in front, then it should allow the match following to pass. Juveniles: Juvenile Members must give way to other members on the 1st Tee at all times. (The only exception to this Rule is when Juveniles are competing in their own competition or are eligible, by handicap, to compete in the competition of the day.) FIVE-DAY MEMBERS Five-Day Members are eligible to compete in the following events: Final Day of ELIGIBILITY OF JUVENILE BOYS TO PLAY IN COMPETITIONS Criteria for competing in Various Competitions Where the Competition is governed by a handicap limit (Junior/Intermediate Scratch Cup) juveniles are eligible to compete on achieving the Qualifying Handicap. Juveniles pay the full fee, and can win the main prize. Semi-open, Invitation and Open Competitions Where juveniles are 18 handicaps or less, they may play with an ordinary member on payment of the full fee and can win the main prize. FIXTURE LIST 2018/

Three person team event two juveniles may play but must be accompanied by an Ordinary Member. Four person team event two juveniles may play but must be accompanied by two Ordinary Members. Normal Club Fourball, Foursomes, Team Event and Single Competitions: Where juveniles are 18 handicaps or less they may play on payment of the full fee and win the main prize. Fourball and Foursomes: Juveniles can play with another juvenile, but must play opposite two Ordinary Members. Singles: Two juveniles can play with one Ordinary Member. Team Events: Same criteria applies as for semi-open and invitation open competitions. Club Matchplay Cups: Singles Fourball, Foursomes Qualifying Competitions: Having achieved a 14 Handicap or less, Juveniles may compete on payment of the full fee, partnered/accompanied by an ordinary member and may win the main prize. Singles: Two juveniles can play with one ordinary member (Qualifying round) Foursomes and Fourball. (Hamill and Allshire Cups): A juvenile must play with an Ordinary Member as his partner. Medals / I.P.G.A. Tankard: Having achieved a handicap of 11 or less Juveniles may play in the above competitions on payment of the full fee and are eligible to win all prizes. Captains, Lady Captains, Vice Captains, Presidents and Professionals Prize: Juveniles are excluded from competing in the above Competitions, as special prizes are awarded in their own Juvenile Competitions. 18 FIXTURE LIST 2018/2019

Bottle Day: Juveniles are excluded from competing. JUVENILE GIRLS Details of eligible competitions will be posted on your Notice Board. Priority on the First Tee for all Juveniles Juvenile Members must give way to other members on the 1st Tee at all times. (The only exception to this Rule is when Juveniles are competing in their own competition or are eligible, by handicap, to compete in the competition of the day.) Note: For the purposes of compliance with the above conditions a Junior Member is deemed to be an Ordinary Member. Junior Members may play in the Captains, Vice Captains and Presidents Prize on payment of the normal entry fee and are eligible to win a prize but not the main prize. HANDICAP ALLOWANCES The Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU) directs that the following handicap allowances be used for the undernoted forms of competition when played as handicap events and, where relevant, for the calculation of the Competition Scratch Score in scratch competitions. The reference to handicaps in all cases refers to Playing Handicaps. Strokes must be taken according to the Handicap Stroke Index. Half strokes or over to be counted as one; smaller fractions to be disregarded except in Foursomes Stroke Play when 1/2 strokes are counted as such. Note 2: Handicap Allowances. In a handicap competition played in any of the above formats the allowances must be laid down by the Committee in the Conditions of the Competition (Rules of Golf 33-1) in accordance with the above direction. Note 3: 36 Holes. In handicap competitions over 36 holes strokes should be given or taken on the basis of two 18 hole rounds in accordance with the 18 hole Handicap Stroke Index unless the Committee introduces a special Stroke Index. Note 4: Hole-by-hole Play-off (sudden-death). When extra holes are played in handicap competitions, strokes should be taken in accordance with the Handicap Stroke Index. Other Forms of Play The Council of National Golf Unions recommends the following allowances: Greensomes: Lower handicap x 0.6 plus higher handicap x 0.4 Golfer of the Year for Men s Club Points will be awarded for all qualifying events (Monthly Medals & Selected Competitions) indicated in diary as GOY as follows; For each event 1st Place = 25pts, 2nd Place = 24pts, 3rd Place = 23pts and in decending points order to 25th Place = 1pt.
