IA through North Beverly, Wenham into Hamilton (cross railroad tracks). Entrance is further up Rte. IA (Bay Road) past police station (on right) and Patton Park (on left); adjacent to the park are the show grounds. Turn left into show grounds entrance (directly across the street from the Myopia Polo Fields). FROM ROUTE 95 NORTH: Take Rte. 128 North to Exit 20A, follow instructions above. FROM ROUTE 95 SOUTH: Take Exit for Rte. 133 East (towards Rowley/Ipswich) Follow Rte. 133 through Rowley (continue when it joins Rte. IA South) and Ipswich. Stay on Rte. IA South when it splits from Rte. 133, continue straight into Hamilton. Entrance is on right (directly across the street from the Myopia Polo Fields). 1

3 HUNTER & EQUITATION DIVISIONS HUNTER & EQUITATION DIVISIONS SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL HUNTER CLASSES FENCES: To be shown over approximately eight (8) fences of the required height. To be judged on performance and soundness. Hunter courses will simulate fences found in the hunting field and may include: gates, brush, walls, oxers, in and out, coops, aiken, rails, and panels. UNDER SADDLE: To be shown at a walk, trot, canter. Light contact with the horses mouth is required. May be asked to hand gallop, at the discretion of the judge, but no more than eight (8) at one time. No martingales are allowed. Green and non-rated hunter sections will not be asked to gallop. AWARDS: Trophy and eight ribbons awarded in each class unless otherwise specified. Walk-Trot Division Riders may not compete in any other classes except U/S and pleasure. Entry fee: $20 per class. 1. OLD CAMPAIGNER CUP The lead line has been the beginning of many illustrious equestrian career, but this class also honors the horses and ponies that for many years have allowed these debut performances. The lead line equitation class is open to riders 7 years of age and younger and mounts of any age. Riders must be led at all times by someone 14 years of age or older. No child in this class may enter any other class on this day. Short Stirrup Division MHC Open to riders 12 yrs. of age and under. Round Two will be a Handy Round with riders showing over a 2'6" Handy type course with four option fences set at 3'. To be judged on style, brilliance and handiness. A maximum of 10 bonus points may be awarded by the judges in the Handy Round. Formal attire is required. Entry fee: $150. Rated NEHC AA. NEHC OPEN PLEASURE HORSE Open to members and nonmembers. Open to all horses ordinarily used for pleasure purposes with no limitations as to the status of rider or place of residence. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. Will be required to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality, in that order. Loose rein on command of judge only, but without loss of contact. Entry Fee: $20. Rated NEHC C. 43. LADIES HUNTER SIDE-SADDLE To be shown at a walk, trot and canter in formal hunting attire. To be judged: 75% on performance, with special emphasis on manners, style and way of moving: 25% on appointments, formal attire and general overall appearance of horse and rider. Barbara Keough Trophy will be awarded to the winner of Ladies Hunter Side-Saddle. Entry fee: $40. Warm-Ups Friday on Hunt Field from 10 am to 1:30 pm Hunter 2 from 11 am to 2:30 pm Jumper Ring from 12 pm to 2:30 pm $20 per round for entered horses $30 per round for non entered horses 4 5

5 JUMPER DIVISIONS JUMPER DIVISIONS & HUNT NIGHT SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL JUMPER CLASSES TIES: All ties involving first place shall be jumped off. For all other ties, time taken to complete the first round will decide, unless otherwise stated. TIME ALLOWED: Based on a minimum speed of 382 yards per minute. The Management, at its discretion, may allow riders to compete without riding coats. If a riding coat is not worn, riders must wear a shirt with a collar or choker, neatly tucked into riding breeches. A raincoat may be worn if conditions require. In all cases, riders must appear neatly attired. COURSES: May consist of any combination of the following: brush; gates; planks; panels; oxers; post and rails; coops; and walls POLING & ANIMAL WELFARE: Manual poling and/or the use of bamboo pole offsets are prohibited. Any rider or trainer found poling or using offsets and/or who, in the opinion of the judges or committee, uses their whip or spurs in an excessive manner will be immediately eliminated from the class where the incident occurred, be suspended from further showing for a twenty- four hour period and will forfeit all entry fees for that class. Any horse upon which a violation of the manual poling and/or use of bamboo offset rule is perpetrated will be suspended from competition for a twenty-four hour period starting from the time of incident and forfeit all entry fees. Further violations by that exhibitor on the same horse or another horse will result in said exhibitor being barred from any further competition at this Show. After the first round, in the event of equality of faults for first place only, there will be one jump off in which time will decide. The remaining competitors will be classified according to their faults only in the first round. In ties for other than first place, the tie will be broken by their time taken to complete the course; riders will remain mounted for ribbons. The order of go will be drawn. Emphasis will be placed on suitability as a fox hunter. Fences approx Riders may only compete on one horse, open to professionals and amateurs FIELD HUNTER HANDY FENCES To be shown over a handy type course, with fences set at 2 6. To be judged on style, brilliance and handiness. Bonus points may be awarded by the judge to each horse/rider combination for handiness of round. 6 HUNT NIGHT RULES AND REGULATIONS 102. FIELD HUNTER U/S. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. To be judged on manners and performance with an emphasis on suitability as a field hunter. Riders may only compete on one horse, open to professionals and amateurs. The following class, Hilltop Hunter Under Saddle, is dedicated to the memory of Patrick J. Keough, generous mentor of the Myopia Hunt HILLTOP HUNTER U/S Open to horses and ponies who would regularly hunt in the hilltop field. To be shown at the walk, trot and canter, and judged on manners and performance, with an emphasis on suitability as a hilltopper's field hunter. No cross entry of horse/rider combination into any jumping class APPOINTMENTS CLASS To be shown at the walk, trot and canter. To be judged 50% on performance, 25% on conformation and 25% on appointments. Exhibitors for the Family Class and Hunter Pairs Class do not need to be Qualified Hunters HUNTER PAIRS OVER FENCES To be shown over permanent and temporary fences. Horses or ponies to jump abreast over fences. Pairs may jump high, 3' or low, 2'6" sides of the jumps. Entry fee: $ HUNTER PAIRS U/S To be shown at a walk, trot and canter. To be judged on manners and performance with emphasis on suitability as a field hunter. Entry fee: $ FAMILY CLASS Open to two or more members of an immediate family. Judged on performance and unity as a group. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter, in both directions of the ring. Entry fee: $ VIXEN CUP Open to horses and ponies which have been hunted regularly by a Junior (13-18 years old) who is a current or past subscriber or has hunted a minimum of 8 times over the last two seasons with a recognized hunt. Hunting attire requested. Manners and way of going as a Junior s hunter with consideration of hunting pace and brilliancy. Fences on the outside course most of which will be 2'9" and none of which will exceed 3' HUNT TEAM CHALLENGE To be shown over permanent and temporary fences not to exceed 2'9". Teams of three horses or ponies may be ridden in succession or abreast (at the choice of the team). Judges on performance and unity as a group. Sumner Pingree Trophy awarded to first place. Entry fee: $75 per team 110. QUALIFIED HUNTER Open to all subscribers of a New England Hunt, horse or pony combinations that have hunted at least five times in the last 12 months. Fences approximately 3. To be judged 60% on performance over fences, 30% on the flat, and 10% on appointments. Winner will be awarded the Andrea Little Eaton Trophy. 1. Judges decisions are final. 2. Every animal entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Committee, but the Myopia Horse Show and its employees will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur. It shall be a condition for entry that each exhibitor shall sign the entry form holding the competition and the committee blameless for any loss, accident or decision that may occur. 3. The Committee reserves the right to decline any entry and return any entry fee before the opening of the horse show. They may also prohibit any person from attending or showing any horse in the ring and remove any stable employee or horse from the show without being liable for compensation or refund. 4. The Committee reserves the right to further cancel, combine or divide classes when deemed necessary to facilitate the smooth running of the show. 5. No refund will be made without a veterinarian or physician s certificate. 6. SEI approved helmets must be worn when mounted in all areas of the show grounds. 7. ENTRIES CLOSE and must be RECEIVED via mail or online no later than Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 An open check made out to The Myopia Horse Show must accompany all entries, whether pre or post entered. Numbers will not be issued until this open check is lodged with the horse show secretary. 8. A $50 processing fee will be charged for each non-negotiable check. 9. A $25 post entry fee per horse will be charged. 10. An office fee of $25 will be charged. 11. Hunter Champion and Reserve will be awarded to two of the four horses which have acquired the most points in the over fence classes in their divisions. In addition to these points only those horses shall receive full points for ribbons won in the under saddle classes. Points to be awarded through the first six places: / Prize money will be awarded at the ring in the form of a voucher. Vouchers may be exchanged for a check at the Secretaries Office. Vouchers must be cashed the day of the show. 13. Warm up is to be conducted in the outside course from 7 am to 8:15 am. NO NUMBERS WILL BE TAKEN FOR WARM UP AFTER 8 AM. PLEASE BE PROMPT. 14. Course diagrams will be posted at least one hour prior to each class. 15. RING DIMENSIONS AND FOOTING: Main Hunt Field is 250' x 250'; groomed grass. Hunter 2 Ring is 150' x 250', groomed grass. Jumper Ring is 150' x 250', groomed grass. 16. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASHES. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN A $100 FINE... NO EXCEPTIONS. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL. 17. All classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise stated. 18. All classes will run according to the current rules as stated by the United States Equestrian Federation and the USHJA. 19. Should any question or dispute arise not provided for in these rules, the same shall be referred to the show management whose decision is final. 8 9
