Our rally this month coincides with the Yeringberg Northern Metropolitan Zone team Horse trials, meaning yet again it will be a small rally.good luck to everyone competing, I am sure you will be excellent representatives of our club. IF YOU ARE NOT ATTENDING THE RALLY PLEASE LET US KNOW BY RETURN ASAP. For anyone who has looked at our website recently you would see it is in desperate need of a makeover... well stay tuned for a brand new website which will be the go to place for all things pony club! It is currently under construction and we will let you know when it is ready to be viewed! DC REPORT Hi everyone, Good luck to all those Lilydale PC members competing at the Yeringberg Teams Horse Trials. Please organise within your own teams, someone to take all of your teams grading cards to the secretary s caravan at the same time. Also you must enter and leave the dressage arena area together as a team. The show jumping and cross country components are run according to your allocated times. For all those members competing at Yeringberg, it will count as a rally. The next time I get your grading card, I will sign off on the May rally. Have a great day. Membership fees are now due. Please print and return membership form together with fees TO THIS RALLY. This is essential to have your new membership card for competition in July. Lilydale Pony club has been so well represented lately at some local competitions achieving really good results. Good luck and congratulations to all those out and about competing. PS don t forget to put your results in the book at pony club. ONE GIANT STEP for Lilydale Pony Club took place on the 2 nd of May. The Hunt Club agreed to lease their grounds to the Pony Club, SJ and Dressage Clubs and an ARC for 30 years. Now we can finally get a lease agreement, that we can all agree to, signed and start applying for grants. No further news from Mooroolbark Pony Club as yet. We are hoping to have the next meeting with them at the end of May. The horse dentist, James Harvey, will be visiting our pony club at the June rally. He charges a very reasonable rate with no call out fee. You will need to book with us if you wish to have your horse s teeth done. At our October rally, wear something PINK. We will be collecting donations for National Breast Cancer Foundation during that day...madeline

2 OUR APRIL RALLY... Our Easter rally was great fun, after all when you start the day with a belly full of chocolate how could it not be great! The Hoof ball was a big hit, some horses such as Tyson, Tilly and Lizzie (to name a few) taking to it like a duck to water...others, like Outlaw; needed a bit of convincing and then some like Fox who said No Way, No How!! Thank you to Penny and Kelsey Pendrey for sharing some of their photos. I can t get to all the groups to take photos so please send any pics you have so I can put them in the Nag Rag. 3 DUTY RESPONSIBILITIES: Kitchen Duties Assist in the preparation of the lunch, setting up of luncheon tables and cooking hamburgers from 9am until 10.30am. At lunchtime, one person to run the till, and at least two people to assist in serving of food. Pack up: clean up kitchen and return all tables and chairs, sweep floors. Jumps Set Up Shetlands Ring: 6 white plastic squares & 6 polls, 3 sets of wings and polls, 4 witch s hats. Ring 3:At least 7 sets of wings and polls (dazzle, double, spread) Bunting :Between Shetlands and Ring 1. Jumps Pack Up All jumps and Bunting to be returned to the trailer and shed. Please remember these jobs have to be done by someone, if you do not turn up when rostered then someone else has to do it for you! PLEASE ORGANISE TO SWAP WITH ANOTHER FAMILY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DO YOUR ALLOCATED DUTY AND THEN CONTACT JULIE SAMPSON TO NOTIFY HER OF THE CHANGES. All hands on deck for pack up...kids and parents alike MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK GRADING CARDS WILL NOT BE HANDED OUT UNTIL THE LAST JUMP IS PACKED AWAY Please note there have been changes to the roster again due to the small Change of date for our Presentation night! It is now on the 28 th June! number of families attending this rally. With the new membership year we will put out a yearly roster so families can better plan for when they are on duty. PARIS It is with much sadness that the Dillon famly had to say goodbye to their much loved pony Paris who had to be put to sleep after a nasty bout of colic. Paris was somewhat of an icon around our club having attended pony club here for many years with 3 different families. Our deepest sympathies are with the Dillon family, Paris was an absolute gem of a pony and will be missed by many of us at Lilydale Pony Club. Tintern Interschool Horse Trials: Grade 4: Sophie Sampson riding Lad, 2nd Monbulk Pony Club Show Jumping Day: D Grade: Jiyah Burgess on Rhapsody, 3rd, 5 th and 6 th, Amelia Williams on Outlaw, 2 nd and 2 nd, Phoebe Dixon on Midnight, 3 rd and Phoebe Dixon on Harry, 3 rd and 6 th. This was also a teams event and Lilydale pony Club won the D grade section, congratulations girls! Officer Pony Club Combined Training: Gr 5: Sophie Dillon riding Mr Nibbbs placed 6 th for the combined training and 6 th for Grade 5 dressage for riders under 10 yrs old. This was a bittersweet victory with Paris passing away only a few days earlier. St Andrews Dressage Day Grade 4: Melanie McCullen 1st Kangaroo Ground Combined Training Grade 3: Hannah Schey on Bonnie 5 th This was Hannah s and Bonnie s first Gade 3 comp! Wandin Seville Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank Ph: Fax: A reminder that Pony club and all PCAV events are smoke free. (03) (03) The Wandin Seville Community bank branch of the Bendigo Bank has come on board with Lilydale Pony Club! They have given us a grant that enabled us to buy a dressage ring, this is a very expensive item that, due to PCAV rule changes has become necessary, that the club could not have otherwise afforded. The bank will continue to support us in other ways too. Each time a new account is opened by a pony club member the bank will donate money to us. The amount varies depending on the type of account. 7 Private advertisements by club members can be put on the notice board free of charge. Businesses may advertise in our nag Rag each month, the cost is $100 per year. Contact Jan or Certificate IV in Massage Therapy (Human) Certificate in Equine Sports and Tactile Therapy Providing both relaxation and sports massage for human s and horse s. For both humans and horse s I provide a full movement assessment to pin point possible areas of muscle tension that may be contributing to soreness, tightness and a lack of performance. In addition to the assessment of the horse, I may also use a gait analysis program to video the horse s movement for signs of restricted gait mobility. I provide after treatment exercises, stretches and massage routines to ensure my clients wellbeing into the future.
