2 Calendar of Events Next Committee Meeting Shepparton Pony Club Grounds Thursday 26 th September 7:00pm all welcome Rally Dates 2013/ th October nd February rd November nd March th December th April th May 2014 All members need to contact Sharon Glass whether attending or not attending rallies bvstables@bigpond.com or text ASAP or at least one week prior to the rally. Aaron is a cutting horse trainer and will be demonstrating this art to us as well as riders having the opportunity to participate on their horses more information regarding this to follow Good luck to Marni Hicks and Image at Nationals.. 60th Anniversary to be held in conjunction with PC rally on the 3 rd November. We will be having a luncheon for all past and current members/parents/ supporters/instructors. Gold coin donation will be requested to put towards the cost of the food. Please spread the word. Please contact Deb Hicks if you can assist in any way with the organisation of this event. Proposing to have troupe ride display, games, slide show, memoirs. Ed McNair will organise the time capsule to be placed beside Taylor Farley Sculpture please bring along your memorabilia to be put inside. Memorial Mugs will be on sale for $10.00 Working Bee Saturday 26 th October to 4.00 pm to prepare/tidy up our grounds/club room for this event Shepparton PC camp at Wakiti Creek Resort to be held on the Saturday 21 st & Sunday 22 nd September. Parents are welcome to ride as well as members. Need to let Sharon Glass know ASAP if you wish to attend, if you wish to camp and please also advise your thoughts on catering. * 3 x 2 bedroom cabins - tariffs $125 per night for a double, additional adults $15, children $8 * 4 x 2 bedroom duplex cabins - tariffs $115 per night for a double, additional adults $15, children $8 * powered camping sites - tariffs $32 per night for a double, additional adults $11, children $7

4 * Unpowered camp sites - tariffs $29 per night for a double, additional adults $11, children $7 * Horses are charged at $2.50 per night 40 individual yards available as well as 2 x 2-3 acre paddocks, all with water available. There is lovely riding along the Goulburn River as well as the Wakiti Creek for you to ride and we have mud maps available for your group. Please contact Jayne Birrell - Wakiti Creek Resort if you wish to book your own accommodation (Sharon will book group camping) Shepparton Tatura Park 12 th October we will be asking members/parents and supporters to help run this day. It generates funds for our Club Schedule for 12 th October Show needs to out Deb to talk to Carolyn to finalize sponsor so this can be completed C Certificates Final date for nominations is the 27 th September venue to be advised after this. Remember workbook needs to be completed and sent prior to the assessment day on the 19 th October. Workshop Towards Better Coaching Amanda Hocking conducted this workshop at our PC grounds on the 17 th August. 5 Strategic Plan Adrian Dowell has requested that all clubs submit of plan for the next 5-10 years of operation State Dressage and Show jumping to be held at Bendigo on 1 st & 2 nd March 2014 State Horse Trials to be held at Riddells Creek on 3 rd & 4 th May 2014 Zone is planning a camp to be held at Bright in January Invitational Rally Euroa Pony Club have invited Shepparton, Seymour and Mansfield Pony Clubs to their rally day on the 29 th September at Downs Street, Longwood. There will be flat work with Nicole Touzel, Cross Country with Mitch Fox, Polo Cross with Kirstie Swinton as well as Freshmans Showjumping at $2.00 per round. An Equine Dentist Sarah Wynd will also be there and can check your horse s teeth for $ Could members please let Sharon Glass know if you are interested in attending? We need to let the Euroa Pony Club know numbers by the 13 th September. World Cup Show-Jumping Qualifier Saturday 23 rd November at Hunter Reserve well worth going to watch GENERAL INFORMATION Membership Remember membership requires contribution by members/parents and supporters particularly to our fundraising events. 24/7 insurance cover has now been introduced by PCAV Fees - $220 first family member $150 next family members $25 Social Member If you are having any financial difficulty in paying the membership fee please contact our Treasurer Leeanne Gooiker. At our last Committee meeting we had 33 financial members Shepparton Pony Club Horse Trials 6 th April 2014, please mark this date in your calendar as we will need many hands on deck Information Package Available to all members please take a copy and read. There is a lot of valuable information. Uniform Woollen competition jumpers can be ordered through the club. The club has purchased the light blue sash material that needs to be sewn

6 onto the jumper. PCAV badges/summer hats ($15.00)/Certificates books etc are also available for purchase. Please contact Leanne Gooiker Green SJ storage container is now locked Unfortunately equipment was left out so now needs to be locked. If you wish to use outside rally day please contact Leeanne/Bill Gooiker or Tracey Hamilton. Remember all equipment taken out of the container needs to be put back in the container after use. There are now extra jump wings left out with the old cup holders for training on rally days Safety Report Shepparton Pony Club encourages the use of safety vests at rallies and competing in jumping phases however this remains the decision of each individual rider and/or parent. Riding boots please remember as your child gets a larger sized riding boot they may also need new stirrup irons, there should be 15 mm or one finger of spare space between the stirrup iron & the boot Pony Club Event Draws: The draws for PC events are currently being posted on the following websites, along with results, photos and more - and northeasternzone.weebly.com Sponsorship Report Please support one of our major sponsors PetStock please encourage all family & friends to mention the Shepparton & District Pony Club to receive a Sponsorship discount. PC Cards Once again I need to remind our members that their card and the accuracy of attendance and grading information is their responsibility. If you have any queries regarding your card, please discuss this with Sally Diamond. PC Cards Please ensure that only two most recent cards are in the folder (i.e. take out the green card). This is required when presenting your card at competition. Rally Attendance Sheet This must be completed prior to gear check. If not then the rally attendance will not be recorded in P.C.A.V. Membership Card Certificates Please contact Sharon Glass with any issues regarding certificates. Certificate work will be incorporated into the upcoming rallies. C Certificates are booked for 19 th October venue to be advised Code of Conduct please be there for the enjoyment. Inappropriate language and disruption to the planned lessons is not acceptable behaviour Grading Could members please contact Sharon Glass prior to the rally if you need to be graded or at least inform her prior to gear check Grounds Maintenance - Please contact grounds committee members if you have some spare time on your hands to help maintain our PC grounds

Please adhere to speed limit on entry If parents could please supervise their children in regards to the Harness Racing Track no driving across the track/no digging as it raises Safety & Track maintenance concerns There is an OPEN CHANNEL behind the clubhouse.
