1 DC Report August Hi Everyone What a busy time it has been at Seville Pony Club with our upcoming dressage day being held this Sunday, 25 th August. A big thank you to all the wonderful members and parents for all their help and support because without you this day would not be possible! July was also a busy rally and welcome to all our new members (more on this in the President s report). Everyone will be busy this week cleaning horses, cleaning gear and learning their dressage tests. Don t forget your pony club cards, medical arm bands and numbers (bridle or saddlecloth numbers must be placed on both side of the horse). One of the things I learnt from the gear check theory at our July rally - always a good idea to check the entry form to see how your competitor number is displayed; ie: bridle, saddle blanket or back number. July Rally - Theory Session A big thank you to Alison Hargreaves and Sharon Wilson for presenting a very informative session on gear check requirements at our July rally. Information re gear check information can be found on the PCAV website. Alison and Sharon handed out a gear check information sheet on the day which, if you happened to miss the session and would like to look at the gear check information, can be found on the PCAV website. Go to six tabs across, Publications and Rules click into Rules and Regulations and Guides and then click into (about five columns down) Gear Rules. At the bottom of the page you will find Quick Reference Guide for Competition Feb This is a great resource for members/parents to familiarise themselves for future competitions and also for when you are required to do gear check duty. Interzone Teams Horse Trials at Yarrambat on Saturday, 27 th and Sunday, 28 th July PLEASE NOTE: This competition is regarded as a rally, so please see Melissa to have your card signed! Also, if you still have a zone saddle blanket, please return to Melissa and she will arrange to have them returned to zone. Congratulations and well done to all our members who competed at Interzone Teams Horse Trials at Yarrambat! From what I ve been told everyone had a great time and most of our members either placed individually or as a team. 3 3 Seville Dressage Day on Sunday, 25 th August See everyone this week at our dressage day! Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers for making the day possible! Good luck to all our riders and enjoy the experience and day! Working Bee on Saturday, 24 th August 2013 We will be having a last minute working bee in preparation for our dressage day. More about this is mentioned in the President s Report. Thank you also to everyone that helped at the working bee at our last pony club rally. C Certificates Congratulations to: Lucy Baker Amber Shiel Jones Grace Garland Carlie Cox for passing their C certificates recently. Great job girls you worked really hard to achieve this and a big thank you to all our instructors assisting with C certificates to help you achieve these results thanks to Nicky Mullens, Marjorie Waterbury and Rachael Edwards. 4 4 Lachlan Nicholls Kenisha Van Beek Rhiannon Camillo September and October: D* Certificates with Nicky Mullens Nicky Mullens will be testing D* certificates at our September and October rallies. For the D* certificates members, please work hard on the diagonals, change of rein and canter leads and thoroughly through theory. K Certificates We currently have four members who will begin the K certificates shortly. If anyone else would like to join, can please confirm with Trish if interested: SPC Uniforms For the new members of Seville Pony Club, uniforms can be purchased at pony club rallies. Our uniform co-ordinator is Lisa Tyrrell. If you have any queries regarding the Seville Pony Club uniform, please don t hesitate to see Lisa at a pony club rally or another committee member. Werribee Horse Trials 28 th and 29 th September 2013 Werribee Horse Trials is being held on 28 th and 29 th September Entries close on 9 th September. Quite a few Seville Pony Club members will be competing and camping at this event and please note that this event is a State qualifier. Seville Pony Club is also rostered on for gear checking duty for this event also. Dressage Judging Clinic with Mary Longden Friday, 13 th September at Glenbrae Equestrian Centre The clinic will focus on: standards needed to excel in grade 3, 2 and 1 at pony club with dressage; how to help riders improve outcomes of their dressage tests; how to judge at these levels. The clinic will be held from 5.30 pm to 9.00 pm approximately. The cost is $30.00 for non SMZ members. The closing date is 30 th August Please ring me if interested in attending. Quite a lot of our members are representing our club with some wonderful results. These include: Cockatoo & District Pony Club Dressage Day - Sunday, 4 th August 2013 Eliza Harvey placed 2 nd in both dressage tests in grade 3 on Heatherton Park Surprise which resulted in Eliza winning reserve champion overall.

5 5 Maddy Buttolph also placed sixth and fifth on My Silver Charm in her grade 3 dressage tests. Maddy Kitto recently competed in grade 5 on her young pony, Deejay Resolution, and was thrilled to place 2nd and 1st which resulted in them winning the overall dressage championship in that level. Wyena Combined Training & Dressage Day 11 August 2013 Maddi Clark recently competed at this event on Northern Irresistible in the Grade 1 combined training for first place! Marlee Carter won the combined training and placed second in dressage in grade 2 on Gus. Eliza Harvey won the grade 3 dressage on Heatherton Park Surprise. Hanna Millott won the grade 1 dressage on Staccato Beat. Chloe Tan Sing won the Grade 3 combined training and placed 4th in dressage.
