2 Message from the vice president cont d Horse Trials Planning is well underway for the upcoming Horse Trials 24 th -25 th February. If you are yet to put your hand up for a specific duty, please do so ASAP or you will be contacted shortly with your allocated session time/s. Out and About I see lots of riders have been busy out and about over the Christmas break both competing and representing Seville at various Equestrian Events such as pony club camps. If you do attend events and would like us to know about it, please send a photo and a small paragraph telling us about your experiences and we ll share it here with the rest of the club. New Members Welcome to all new members attending this months rally. If you have a new member in your lesson, please make them feel welcome. 3 DC News We are delighted to welcome some new members this month. Amity Rundle (sister of Maison) and her pony Missy are starting in the Red Group. Ella Harvey and her pony Harvey are starting in the Silver Group and Harriet Clapham-Fell and Primrose are starting in the Orange Group. Please look out for them and give them a warm welcome. It was lovely to hear about many members who took part in the various PCAV camps held over the holidays and see the improvements made by all. We also welcome Elyse Blackley as an instructor to our club. Elyse has been riding all her life and mainly focuses on eventing with her horse Rusty. Her goal teaching at Pony Club is to keep it fun and make sure all riders enjoy themselves. Some of our little ones have already enjoyed having Elyse at the recent KGPC camp. It was a star-studded Christmas Rally worthy of a red carpet with international superstar hosts Kim Kardashian & Kayne West as well as Hanna Montana, Miley Cyrus (amazingly at the same time), President Trump and his political opponent Hillary Clinton, pop, rock and other music stars Britney Speirs, Olivia Newton-John, Sia and Ed Sheeran, local celebrities Kath Day-Knight and her gorgeous hubby Kel Knight and our own royal Queen Elizabeth who welcomed the likes of Kiss, The Minions, Abba, some more of the crew from Kath & Kim, The Wiggles, Santa s very own helpers, Katy Perry, the Queen of Hearts and more. Congratulations again to our senior riders Jarryd Stanley, Grace Symes, Madi Buttolph, Ella O Sullivan, Bella Bragg, Brooke Thompson, Giorgia Fontana, Lotte Ambler, Camilla Baker, Kyle Kroeger, Elizabeth Kennedy from Black & Yellow Groups brilliantly lead by Emily Tyrrell who ran this fantastic Christmas Rally with the Come dressed as a celebrity or rock star theme. The parade was again spectacular. Thank you to the riders, ponies and parents who created superb costumes and made the day so much fun. Thank you also to all families for bringing salads and desserts and importantly to Trish Kroeger who organised all the meat, drinks, ribbons and more and oversaw the smooth running of the day. 3

5 Horse Trials February Don t forget to put our Horse Trials dates in your diary - Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 February. It is a very exciting time and a great opportunity for riders to achieve personal bests with the support of your club. Riders not competing are encouraged to come and help out and experience the atmosphere of a 2-day event. A reminder to all parents and riders that your help is required over the weekend and for setup prior. Amber Shiel-Jones and Sandy Garland, are organising volunteers so look out for their requests. We have some dates for set up which you can also put in your diary: Tuesday 20 February 5pm Dressage Setup Thursday 22 February 11am Dressing of XC Jumps Friday 23 February 5pm Showjumping Setup Please be reminded that the Little Wandin Cross-Country area is closed for competitors training from Friday, Feb 9 for levels 4-5 and Saturday Feb 10 for levels Ch-3.
