2 Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Sunday 14 th January am to 4pm Hello All, It was a nice pleasant day for our BBQ this year, not too hot, not too cold, and no mini tornadoes to contend with. We had an excellent turnout of our members, with the BBQ fully staffed the whole day. What a great effort! I just want to give a huge thank-you to all the people that helped, and also to those that donated goods. It was so great of you to give up some of your precious Sunday time to help the club by selling sausages and drinks - we made a profit of $ !!! The BBQ was either flat-out or constant all day. Without the help of all of you there is no way we could have achieved this great result, made some money for our club, and achieved some community vision. Thanks again - See you all Sunday, Alison 2

3 Monbulk Pony Club Inc Incorporation Number A R Presidents Update Hi Monbulk Members, Families and Friends, Presidents Report February 2018 I hope you all had a fantastic break and are looking forward to the new pony club year as much as I am. When you get to pony club you will see our beautiful new car park, we were very luck to receive a grant from Tony Smith (local MP) to improve our car parking. Please ensure that you clean up any poo left around your floats and if you have one of those horses that can t stand still at the float and paws the ground, please put them in a yard. We have all worked really hard to raise half the funds for this project and we would like to keep the new parking area pristine for as long as possible. If you didn t get as much riding in as usual over the holidays, please be kind to your four legged friend and don t work them too hard in the heat. This year is my last year as President of Monbulk Pony Club, I have really enjoyed the last few years, making friends around the club but also within the whole of PCAV. It is now time for another parent to take the reins and take over the President role. I will still be around the club to support the new President and help out if needed but please consider this as a role you can do. The President's role is not always an easy one but it is also not that hard, it takes a little organisation and patience but as long as you can manage that you will find the rest easy. All committee positions become vacant at the AGM so if you feel president is too big a commitment please consider any of the other roles. It is your club and your responsibility to contribute to the running, remember you can t complain unless you are willing to do the job yourself. Lets have a great 2018 Julie

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year Break, and looking forward to a brand New Year. Each New Year is the perfect time to set brand new goals, perhaps you can take a few minutes to think about what you would like to achieve and write them down. This list that is yours and yours alone, can be looked back on throughout the year its a great motivator! EG: Trot Diagonals - get your rise correct each and every time, canter leads, cleaning your horses bit after every ride - the possibilities are endless. extremely valuable in help shaping the way you want your club to run and what you want to get out of your Pony Club experience. Thank You, and will try to implement where ever possible with the support of our members. Have a Great Rally Day! Parents Please make sure you are aware of this to avoid turning up to locked gates is the Year for Positive Change. There will likely be some changes to the current rally day format, we will keep you in formed to these and hope you enjoy them. Due to the recent hot weather and in the best interest of horses and riders, rally day is starting early this month. Gear Check will be Done in by your coach first up in your First Session. Please be ready for a 9am start, walking only until directed by your coach with horse space in between of course! The rally plan will tell you what your group has and what arena will be. I have been taking note of your Q&A responses when Opting In. Your input is 4

6 Monbulk Pony Club Rally Duty 2017/ REVISED Please OPT IN to the rally to let us know if you can make your duty, the OPT inform has this new section: Club Room Duty Job Description - You will need to be available for the day to carry out the following duties. Please negotiate with the other rostered member on duty as to who will carry out each duty. If you cannot attend the rally for whatever reason please find a fill in otherwise we will not run a canteen for that rally. Canteen The Canteen needs to be open from 9am until 3pm. The Canteen needs two people during the lunch busy period. BBQ One of the team rostered on to clubroom duty will need to Set up, cook, clean and pack up the barbeque. Barbecue should be set up ready for cooking by 9am Toilets and Bins Check the toilets are clean at the commencement of rally and they are stocked with toilet paper and hand towel. Clean toilets at end of rally. Place bins on roadside at end of rally ready for rubbish collection. Floors/Tidy Up - Sweep club room floors and entry at end of rally. ** Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more details or questions 6

7 Monbulk Pony Club Inc Incorporation Number A R Pony Club Rules Please arrive promptly to each lesson, if you are late, please ask your instructor before joining the group if already started If you arrive early for your session or the instructor is not present, you may enter the arena and wait, but you must only walk or halt. You must not use any equipment without the instructor present. Have your horse and yourself looking neat and presentable for each lesson Come to each lesson with a positive attitude and open mind! We Never Stop Learning and each session is a new opportunity. Parents, Please refrain from talking to your child and or instructing them from the side lines. Leave the instructing to the Coach! MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN!!!! ITS NICE TO BE IMPORTANT, BUT ITS MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!! If you are leaving early or not attending a lesson your group has been allocated, please let your instructor know and advise DC. Gear Check Rules Gear check starts at 9:30am, you may enter the gear check arena prior to this time, but please be aware there may be no supervision until 9:30am. Parents must accompany their children if they are unable to remain calmly by their gear check station. WALKING or HALT only - You must remain at a walk or halt within the gear check area. Please walk directly to your gear check station and wait for your gear checker. Trotting, Cantering, lunging or any other warm up activity is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the gear check arena. (If you need to warm up please do so before the rally day starts, prior to 8:30am, in an empty arena, you cannot use an arena where equipment setup is commencing) Remember that the 'Gear Checkers' are volunteering to check that gear is safe and compliant, without the gear checkers you would not be allowed to ride. Patience and Respect is Required by All - Checkers and Members alike. Remember to Use Your Manners! ** If your horse is not under control or is unable to walk calmly or is acting up please wait outside the gear check arena until the gear checks for those riders already present are completed and the horses have cleared the arena ** If you are late and miss gear check you MUST contact the DC and arrange a gear check before you commence riding 7

ENTRANCE Yard Allocations The yards at our club grounds are available to be purchased by our members for $ for the duration of your time as a member of MPC. If you don't purchase a yard, they will not be reserved for you at MPC Competitions and they may be hired out to a competing rider.
