David Gonzalez and was well attended by members who had great fun. The May meeting will be on the 6 th (Tuesday) with a guest speaker Al Allan of Datsun Parts, LLC. This will be another very good meeting with lots of fun. There were 3 events starting with the annual Z Club s Picnic put on by Jerry Peterson at his Palm Springs local. It was well attended by our club, Inland Valley, Empire Z and Group Z. There were many old (Vintage) cars and over 32 people. Jerry was presented with a gift from our club which was a framed picture of his car at the Japanese Car Show in Long Beach. Next was the Bottom Buster Motor Tour (for Vintage Cars) with 3 days of driving the byways of Central Calif. With beautiful scenery, great weather and fantastic drivers dinner. Last was the Motor Sport Car show in the City of Orange which was well attended by many Z cars from all over and a number from our Club. In May we have our annual Picnic on Sunday May 18 th at Santee Lakes with free hamburgers, hot dogs and brats. We will also have our Show & Shine with a number of categories with trophies. A great time for all. This is our club and we work very hard to have fun and make it fun for everyone. If you are not having fun, then you need to come on out and join in. The Z Car CLUB OF SAN DIEGO is a group of Datsun and Nissan Z enthusiasts and a Charter Member of the National Z Car Club Association. Purpose: The Club is organized as a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation formed to:1) Provide its members with access to knowledge about their Z Cars; 2) Provide a forum for members and other interested parties; 3) Exchange Z Car information; 4) Organize events and activities for members which enhance their enjoyment of Z car ownership. Persons interested in becoming a Member should fill out the Membership Form located on the last page of this Newsletter. Monthly Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month with dinner at 6 PM and meeting starting at 7 PM. See below for driving directions. 7 Your Board in Action 2014 Your Board in Action The Board of Directors meeting was held on April 22, 2014 at Coco s Family Restaurant on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. ZCON 2014 planning continues with representatives showing their products for consideration. On May 18 th ZCSD will hold their Annual Picnic and Show n Shine at Santee Lakes. Bring a dish to share, the club will supply the hot dogs, hamburgers and water. This is a great event for the whole family so you won t want to miss it! Don t forget to follow your club in Facebook. Zee you at the General Meeting, May 6 th! 12 ZCSD had a booth promoting ZCON 2014,thanks to all the members that showed up and assist, specially to Lenny who went very early and set up the tent. The Japanese delegation stopped by our booth and were given a ZCON 2014 promotion poster. (

13 Z Bash was a great success,awesome cars and people. There were Dyno runs, garage sales and store merchandize sales.

14 CLIF S MEMBERSHIP. Total members: 149 and that's counting the 3 or 4 stragglers that always pay a month or two late. Don't make me send out a reminder to you!! We have 20 club members signed up and paid for the ZCON Far and away the most of any club so far. But beware, Texas usually brings that many too. Which Z car is the most popular in ZCSD? 16 Short note from your Vice- Prez and Newsletter editor May is here!!! Summer is approaching fast!!!, Z Club of San Diego will be 24 years old!!! So that means the Picnic at Santee Lakes, car show, cake and Lenny at the grill!!! More information and details will be forwarded in an e-flyer as the date gets closer. April was a busy month; Bottom Buster, Z Bash at Motorsport, Palm Spring Drive and BBQ at Jerry Peterson and ZCON 2014 meetings, we even had a quick photo shoot organized by Clif to use in one of the promotion posters for ZCON as Wally proposed, it came out so pretty we are going to print some more. Wanted to thank Mr. Eugene Abad from ELEE Motorsport and Atara Racing Wheels for sponsoring my new wheels giving me the opportunity to promote not only the wheels but ZCON 2014 at the same time. Hope you all registered for the ZCON and various activities to take place, there will be other activities to sign in during the convention as well. We had three guest during the Board meeting :Mr. Octavio Lebaron from, Promo Venture, Inc. who presented us with various merchandize to used during the ZCON, Mr. John Williams from Williams Machine Shop who presented some nice alternative for trophies and Mr. Jay Ataka from Ataka Corporation who is going to help with Mr. Matsuo visit. Overall it was a fantastic meeting and things are coming together nicely, but much to do still. Want to thank our friend and club member Bernard Vinluan for referring Mr. Octavio Lebaron to us. 18 This car won it's class at the 2006 West Coast Nissan Z Nationals competing against 70 others in it's class and looks as it did then. The interior is spotless, exterior is flawless.
