AT ARMS Andy Sievers Our first Mustang was purchased in 1985 and was a 1973 Tweet- Bird Yellow convertible. (my favorite car) This car was sold in 1998 to a man in Flagstaff. The next Mustang we purchased was a blue 1970 Shelby GT 350. Mitch sold this car in 2011 to a man who was really excited to restore it. (Makes it easier to let it go.) When our daughter got to the age to drive, we purchased a red Mustang II. She drove it till it quit. Since then, Mitch and Sam put a engine and transmission in it. That car s name is Mr Toad. Stephanie called it Herbert before that. The next Mustang was a Fox Body named Stanley. This car was traded in on a Chevy Cavalier.

3 MEETING MINUTES Spring Fling Special Meeting - 04/17/2013 Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM at Berge Ford by President Jeff Minx. Board Attendees: Member Attendees: David Jacobelli, Tim Francis, Doris Minx, Sharon Maloley, Donna Bickle Scott Nett It was brought to the attention that there is an circulating regarding the fairness or lack there of on judging of the different classes of vehicles. After further discussion was determined the judging was fair and in accordance to the rules. Things that worked well sale of hamburgers, hot dogs and turkey burgers (this was in lieu of cooking chicken) judging was fair and handled well volunteers really stepped up to make this a success Things that need improvement Need to have an itinerary of events, including times Signage needs to be closer to freeway More advertising Assigned responsibility of upcoming events: June Ice Cream Social Sharon & George Maloley October Super Cruise Scott & Paige Nett November Annual Pizza Party George Maloley December Christmas Party Doris Minx Further, David Jacobelli has volunteered to put a 35 th anniversary event together. 4 Meeting Minutes Cont. General Meeting - 04/14/2013 Meeting called to order at 1 PM at Mount Olive Church by President Jeff Minx. The Feb 27 event at Capitol was a success. Check with Tom Martin for further details. Update Dan Martarano reported that the Max Salsbury Scholarship will be presented to the winner at Glendale Community College details to follow Update on MCA Tim Francis discussed the Presidents Award and advised our club is working toward this if you were a new MCA member in 2012 please contact Tim or a board member Special Guest John Clor from FORD shared information on the history of the Mustang this was very informative and lots of good feedback every attendee received a poster and calendar from FORD Update on events- March 16 St Patrick s Day Event Scott gave report 6 cars 4 convertibles March 23 Breakfast run 20 people attended NO ONE LEFT HUNGRY March 30 Sanderson Ford Muscle Car Show was impressive with different vendors April 6 Scottsdale Expo 6 attended; lots of dogs adopted April 6 Jennabears Car Show not many Mustangs 150 cars April 6 in Tucson no attendance April Swap Meet in Mesa no attendance April 21 Fabulous Fords Forever CA contact Dave Jacobelli or Dan Martarano for details Today s lunch was provided by Jo and Wes Young. 5 May Monthly Meeting Reminder As you know our Club meeting is generally on the second Sunday of each month. However, in May, the second Sunday is Mother's Day. We all need to recognize this day and because our club has so many great mothers, we will be moving our meeting to the third Sunday, May 19 at 1 pm. There will be snacks/ deserts to enjoy during the meeting. Come out and support your club!

7 Member of the month Cont. Then Mitch purchased a 1985 Turbo-charged Mustang which was sold to our daughter. When the Shelby GT500 came out, Mitch put his name on the list at Berge and waited 19 months to get it. It has not been on the road much after January of 2009 because Mitch had a long time of being unemployed when the bottom dropped out of the economy and we couldn t afford to license and insure the car. Last year, for my 65 th birthday Mitch went looking for an affordable convertible. He found one and called to inquire about it and found that the owner was Gary Ellsworth. The engine was strong but it had some cosmetic needs. We had it painted last October from two tone gray to Bahama Blue Metallic. It s beginning to look real good and won a second place trophy at the spring show. (much to my surprise) This car is a girl car with an attitude and I am enjoying it very much. As you can see we have been a Mustang family since 1986 and we became members of the club in The slogan back then was ownership not necessary but enthusiasm is and we have remained enthusiastic about the club ever since.

10 CALENDAR OF EVENTS Jun Jun 21 Sep 7 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup: Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup in Steamboat Springs, CO; this is a great event with a cruise, auto cross, banquet, car show, and the sites of the Rocky Mountains; for more info go to please contact a Board member to see if others are going so can cruise up as a group. Third Friday at Culvers: We will meet at Culvers at 825 E Camelback Rd, Phx; we will meet around 6pm; come out and enjoy the company of other Mustangers; weather will be getting a bit warm, but you still have to eat! Flagstaff Route 66 Days Charity Car Show: Hosted by Route 66 Car Club of Flagstaff in downtown Flagstaff; open to all makes/models/years; open to the first 450 cars; $35 preregistration; show 8am to 5:30pm; go to the website to print off the registration; many club members go to this event. We have blocked rooms again at the Ramada West, 2755 S Woodlands Village Blvd; please call and ask for the rooms booked under Copperstate Mustang Club, then transfer the room to your name; the rate is $74.99/night.
