If you are interested in running for any of the elected offices above or know someone who is, please contact any of the current board and/or nominate yourself at the Feb or Mar meeting. Please plan on attending the March meeting to vote on the new officers. Your vote is most important. Thanks Membership Dues Increase $5 Annual membership dues, both new and renewing will be going up $5 across all catagories. This is the first increase in 30 years. Avoid the increase this year by renewing your membership on or before March 25. Renew now or at our annual car show, Saturday, March 25. After that dues go up. Thanks

4 In The Works Chris Sharp, Activity Director Another month has come and gone and yes, spring is getting closer. That means closer to time to get the cars out and have some fun!! Saturday, February 11th, let's meet at Freddy's Frozen Custard and Burgers at 6:30pm Hwy 121 and Glade Rd exit, Euless, TX. I will speak to the manager and see if we can park our cars right up front. Saturday, February 25th, Valentine lunch cruise to Café 1187 south of Benbrook. Meet at the Mansfield Home Depot parking lot, 1725 N US Hwy 287, Mansfield, TX (between Debbie Lane and Walnut Creek Rd) 10:30 am. Leave at 11am for 45 minute cruise to Café 1187, arrive 12 noon for wonderful lunch. Then 5 minutes west to Hwy 377, 5 minutes north to Benbrook. Cafe1187.com Working on some fun and exciting things for spring, summer and fall. Will share with the club as soon as everything is finalized. Oh, and don't forget to come out to Dallas Autorama February 17-19th to support the club We continue to send our prayers and good wishes to Morris Counts. 7 Off The Wing by Barry Hansen Mopar Spotting...at the end of January the 1955 Chrysler Ghia Streamline X concept car went to auction at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale. The description says it was a design exercise between Chrysler and an Italian designer to explore crosswind resistance and aerodynamics. Kind of homely looking with huge pointy rear tail fins and a hint of things to come front end that looks similar to a Road Runner Superbird with pop-up headlights. See pictures on the internet. Is it just me dept...wouldn't Ed O'Neill from Married With Children and Modern Family make a great Don Garlits if someone would do a movie bio of him similar to Heart Like a Wheel? Finally it's race season again. NHRA WinterNationals Feb 9-12 in Pomona. TMCCC Mar 5 in Denton. And something going on in Daytona, FL but who cares, no Mopars running. Missed the cruise-in to Pops in Waxahachie. Heard it was a lot of fun and well attended. Regretting missing it. Wife loves to try burger places. Looking forward to Freddys for dinner and Jay Jays for breakfast this month. Thanks Chris for making these cruises work. The continuing story of our Caliber...as most of you know our daily driver and road car, all wheel drive, CVT, a gas sipper, fun as hell to drive on twisties and in the mountains. And some of you know I have been fighting a loosing battle the last 6 months with the check engine light and related emissions controls. After getting Don to weld up cracks in the exhaust manifold and changing an O2 sensor the light went out and it passed inspection. After a Christmas run to Kansas and several weeks of in-town driving the light stayed off. Sprained my arm patting myself on the back. Next stop proper pushrods for the Charger. Got a checking pushrod from Kirk and about to ask Phil for help dialing it in for an order to Comp Cams when last week the light came back on. Emissions again. Next stop replace the second O2 sensor then maybe a new cat converter (my car is special, it has one pre-converter, two converters and two O2 sensors). Surely that will do it. Or maybe I just drive it off a bridge. Hot Rod Power Tour just announced. Jun 10 through Jun 17, start Kansas City, KS through Indy to Bowling Green, KY. Starts in the middle of the country, ends in the middle of the country, one day drive from here to the start, one long day drive from end back here. Definitely doable. Consider all or part of it. You will love it. See you at the dinner or the show or the meeting or the lunch. Can t say there s nothing Mopar to do this month. Mopar, Love it or leave...no, just love it Recycle Your Car Magazines Don t throw out those recently read car magazines, bring them to the meeting.
