1 REBELS AUTO CLUB NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2012 President s Message Welcome to August! It's actually a cool day that I'm writing this. A few more car shows are under the belt, but more to come. Get the cars out to the shows and try to stay cool. Start thinking about donations for this year. Last year, we gave $500 each to the City Mission, Food Bank, Cancer Center and Clinic with a Heart. All are worthwhile charities that keep the money in our community. Based on our income from the car show, swap meet, and cone races, we should be in pretty good shape to contribute the same amount this year. Keep in mind, we still have the scholarships for SCC yet this year. If you have a charity you would like us to consider, let the board members or me know. In my opinion, this is the best time of the year when we hand out donations. Another issue coming up before you know it is the elections. Remember that we voted to split up the terms for officers. The openings for the coming year will be the President, Treasurer and one Director at Large. If you feel you could help out at one of these 2 year positions, contact Jim Holstein. I would like to thank the Masters for choosing to host this years Halloween party. We always have a good time with good food and karaoke. The date is yet to be determined. Make sure you sign up to work the cone races. See Jim McNeil for the schedule and sign up sheet at the next meeting. If you've never attended or worked the cone races, you're missing out. In the past, we have been allowed to ride with some of the best drivers in the country or take your car on the course and test your skills. I look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting. Hope to see you all on the road soon!
