1 December 2011 (1211) -Global Chefs Challenge & Hans Bueschkens Young Chef Challenge The Africa and Middle East semi-finals of both the WACS Global Chef and the Hans Bueschkens competitions were held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from November 21 st to 23 rd The competitions were run in conjunction with the La Cuisine Du SIAL Abu Dhabi which forms part of the SIAL Middle East Exhibition website:

3 Dear Colleagues, Emirates Culinary is inviting all professional chefs to participate in the upcoming biggest culinary competition in the Middle East; The Emirates Salon Culinaire This event will be held in conjunction with Gulfood from 19 th Feb till 22 nd Feb Attached are copies of the details of the event and the forms for entering for best trophy classes and individual classes. Recipe sheet form to be submitted at the time of the competition. Entry to the practical cookery classes will be restricted due to space being very limited. No entry is considered for registration without receipt of the required entry fee. Closing date for entries is 31 January However, many are often fully subscribed and closed well before the closing date.

4 Events & Happenings -Monthly meeting December will be held on Monday the 12 th at 16:30, and hosted by Mr. Bob Green and Mr. Elias Rached of Transmed and MKN Thank you to Chef Girish at the Pepermill Restaurant LuLu Hypermarket Al Barsha for hosting our November meeting. -UAE 40 th National Day December 2, 2011 The Emirates Culinary Guild will support DTCM to Host the Loukamath Day on 2 nd December in Heritage Village (Shindaga) celebrating 40 years of the UAE, we aim for 40 Hotels to produce, fry and distribute 1000pieces of Loukamath each -Cheese Technical Seminar & Lunch with Chef John Esser from the United States 4 th December 2011 at the Radisson Blu Deira Creek Hotel -35 th WACS World Congress May 1 5, 2012 Daejeon, Korea Website:
