GEORGE, UTAH - The Huntsman World Senior Games is pleased to welcome the fourtenth Annual Global Cup - World Senior Volleyball Championship, a special event of the Huntsman World Senior Games. The teams hale from around the world and come representing their home country. The event is billed as a true world championship for elite Volleyball players ages 50 and over. Participation in the Global Cup is by invitation only and is limited to one team per country. The Global Cup is truly unique, says John Rosey Rosander, Director of Sports for the Games. There really isn t anything like it in the world. Teams come and are playing for national pride. The level of play is fantastic, adds Kyle M Case, Games CEO. These are the best players in the world in their age division and they deliver a great show when they play. The teams alternate each year between men and women. This year, the women will take the court. The last time the women competed, in 2017, USA, Brazil and Canada Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. International Volleyball Rules govern play throughout the tournament, which will begin on Monday, October 14 and will culminate in the medal matches being played on Thursday, October 17, We go out of our way to take good care of the teams that participate in the Global Cup each year, said Mindy Case, Global Cup Director. In addition to world-class competition, we provide local transportation, banquets and tours. The teams have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Huntsman World Senior Games is the largest annual multi-sport event in the world for athletes 50 and over. Every October more than 11,000 athletes from around the globe converge on St. George, Utah, to compete and enjoy camaraderie and a world-class, Olympic-style experience.

6 Entry into the Global Cup, a world championship tournament, is by invitation only, allowing the best women s 50+ teams in the world to compete for the title of World Senior Volleyball Champion. We will accept only one team per country. A maximum of twelve (12) teams will be accepted into this Championship. Teams are allowed a maximum of 15 rostered players. Additional substitutes are not allowed. Teams are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Accepted teams (up to 15 individuals) will receive the following Tournament Package: (All prices below are in US Dollars) Registration in the Global Cup World Senior Volleyball Championships for a discounted team fee of $900 - a savings of over $500 per team. Special discounted lodging rates at our partner properties as follows: St. George Inn & Suites, 1221 S Main St, St George, UT 84770, (435) Rates: $79 + tax per night (double occupancy) My Place Hotel, 1644 South 270 East, St George, UT 84770, (435) Rates: $75 + tax per night (double occupancy) Each team is responsible for its own lodging. Reservations can be made by contacting the hotel of your choice listed above. These discounted rates will remain available until September 1, When you make your reservations, please ask for the Special Global Cup Pricing. Optional Ground Transportation from Las Vegas, Nevada to St. George, Utah, will be available at a cost of $20.00 per person. The buses will depart Las Vegas, Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 1:00 PM (Las Vegas Time). Optional Ground Transportation will also be available for the return trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, at a cost of $20.00 per person. Buses will leave St. George, Utah for the McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 10:00 AM (Utah time). This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to the Team Registration Fee. These guests may attend the welcome reception and all volleyball matches free of charge. Ground transportation, when available, around St. George will also be provided to them for no additional fee. 8 T he Global Cup is a special event of the Huntsman World Senior Games. The Games were founded in 1987 when St. George, Utah, USA, welcomed a few hundred athletes competing in a handful of sports. From those humble beginnings, the Games have grown into the world s largest annual multi-sport event for men and women ages 50 and better. The Games take place each October and are open to athletes of all skill levels. Every year the Games welcome over 11,000 athletes to St. George, Utah, USA. Since 1987, the Games have hosted 77 different countries at the event. The Games offer 30 different sports. From archery to volleyball, individual events to team sports, there is something for everyone. Part of the success of the Games is attributed to the philosophy founded in the early years of providing much more than just a sporting event. The Games is a total experience. Each sport hosts an athlete social where the participants have an opportunity to have a great meal and create new friendships and renew old ones off the field of competition. Other social events provide additional opportunities for the athletes to socialize and enjoy themselves. Following the tradition of the Olympics, the Huntsman World Senior Games features an incredible Opening Ceremonies featuring a Parade of Athletes, a Cauldron Lighting and singing and dancing along with fireworks. Participants from the Global Cup are encouraged to participate in the Games in the off year and invite friends and family to participate in the variety of sports as well.
