3 Overview Beautiful weather and an exciting atmosphere set the stage for a great day at the 3 rd Annual Vintage Crystal. 5,000 strong came out for the event and enjoyed Crystal City with a Latin accent! Event attendees had the opportunity to taste 30 wines from Spain, Chile, and Argentina, while friends from DC Magazine poured Casa Noble s premium tequila and several luxury beers. To round out the palette, more than 25 treats from area restaurants and eateries showcased the wide array of dining options in Crystal City and the wider South Arlington area. Jaleo s giant paella demonstration was as popular as always, and Carson from MIX107.3 kept the crowd entertained with his Guac of Ages! Food and wine were accompanied idby afbl fabulous complement of education and entertainment. Many attendees danced with The Salsa Room, and the DC Jazz Festival provided live Latin music from Trio Caliente, the Marshall Keys Quartet, and Reginald Cyntje. Rounding out the festivities, educational wine classes offered twice every hour added a new feature to this ever growing event for those interested in learning more about wine. From the added entertainment to the new location, this year s Vintage was the best yet. Said one the attendees, You keep getting better every year. In order to reduce waste, and to host a responsible event, the

In order to reduce waste, and to host a responsible event, the BID bought compostable materials for all of the restaurants and partners. A total of 49 bags of compost and 16 bags of recyclables were collected and disposed of properly. Festival goers were reminded to place their materials in the appropriate bins, and for many, this was their first exposure to corn based, completely recyclableproducts.

6 Advertising To promote the 3 rd Annual Vintage Crystal, the Crystal City BID placed ads in Modern Luxury Magazine, on MIX 107.3, in the Metro, and in the Washington Post Express. In addition, the BID mailed pieces to residents of 22202, and Del Ray. A large sticker was also placed on the floor of the Clarendon Metro Station. Finally, posters were distributed to businesses throughout the area, banners were hung on light poles, and stickers were placed on the ground in Crystal City.
