2 GET ON TRACK TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE Over the past seven years, the STBB4GOOD MTB Challenge has become one of the most popular mountain biking events and a must do on the Western Cape MTB calendar. From a starting field of 247 riders in 2011, our participant numbers have grown so enthusiastically that we are forced to cap our entries at on the longer routes to preserve the natural beauty of the Renosterveld Conservancy on which Bottelary Hills Mountain Bike Trails create our unique routes. In 2016 we added a Friday afternoon trail run - the STBB4GOOD Twilight Run, which is showing similar growth and attracted 635 runners in This is very much a family event, whether you re riding, running or supporting, and there is something for everyone to enjoy at Overgaauw Wine Estate, our wonderful host venue, including market stalls, quality food vendors, a kiddies entertainment tent, craft beer and wine tasting. The atmosphere and views are unsurpassed, and our generous sponsors help us to keep everything running smoothly, from the starting chute fencing to the finish line prizes and hospitality tents. STBB specifically conceived both sporting events to create opportunities for us as a firm to raise awareness of different needs in our communities and to address those needs, along with our supporters and business partners, and do good - not only in our business practices, but also in the communities we serve. From 2011 to 2016 the STBB4GOOD initiative supported CANSA by raising awareness about breast cancer and donating R to this cause. In 2017 we adopted Miles for Smiles as our new beneficiary, raising awareness of the plight of children born with cleft lips and palates, and donating R to this cause in 2017 alone. This amount covers corrective surgery for 81 children. Our aim is to improve on this result in 2018, and we invite you to join us in this challenge! RIDERS Cycling, and specifically mountain biking, is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. 700 RUNNERS Trail running is something all ages can participate in and enjoy. 2

8 ABOUT OUR BENEFICIARY MILES FOR SMILES Both the STBB4GOOD MTB Challenge and Twilight Run are in aid of Miles for Smiles (ciplafoundationsa.co.za) to raise funds for Operation Smile South Africa (OSSA) to perform life-changing corrective surgery on children from poorer communities born with cleft lips and palates. Brand ambassadors, leading by example and tackling physical feats of endurance to raise money for OSSA, include David Grier and Braam Malherbe. One in every 700 children in South Africa is born with a cleft lip and/or palate and, until they receive treatment, cannot breathe, eat, drink, swallow or speak normally; typically leading to severe malnutrition, permanent hearing loss and social isolation. These children suffer enormously and only one in 10 live to see their first birthday. With every kilometre covered at this year s STBB4GOOD MTB Challenge and Twilight Run, participants will be riding, walking and running to raise funds to give these children a smile. JOINS US AT OVERGAAUW ON 12 AND 13 OCTOBER 2018 TOGETHER WE WILL CHANGE LIVES AND CREATE SMILES! However, each 45-minute corrective surgery costs only R5 500 and saves these children s lives! 8
