4 ABOUT HSMSC Since 1933, the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County has been providing shelter, food and medical care for thousands of injured, neglected and abused animals. And for just as long, people like you have kept us going. Thousands of animals are neglected or abused in Memphis and Shelby County each year. Hungry, scared and injured, these animals face a bleak future. That s where we come in. We are the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. With support from animal lovers like you, we are able to help prevent and stop animal abuse as well as help injured animals in Memphis and Shelby County. We are able to provide animals with a safe place to recover, nutritious food and outstanding veterinary care. On average, we provide sanctuary to over 100 animals at our facility at any given time, with dozens more placed with foster families until they are ready to be adopted. And we are dedicated to giving these animals a brighter future. An important part of our work is giving these animals the emotional support, training and socialization abilities that will allow them to be adopted into new and loving homes and long-lasting relationships. We have been celebrating animals and confronting cruelty since our founding in From then until today, our funding comes exclusively from private donations from animal lovers like you. 3

6 WALK FOR THE ANIMALS The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County will be launching its first Walk for the Animals in This is a free, family-friendly event and open to the public. Walkers that raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative Humane Society Walk for the Animals t-shirt. Our animal companions represent unconditional love, joy, security, compassion, and no judgments of human abilities or appearances. The Humane Society Walk for the Animals is an exciting way to support our community, smile, and make new friends animal & human. Bring your best animal friends and join us for a fun-filled day, starting with a walk around beautiful Shelby Farms. 14 WAG BAG INSERT $250 Do you want to reach over 1,000 people? We will insert an item provided by you into 1,000 goodie bags that are distributed at pre-registration and at the Walk for the Animals. The item of your choice can be a logo item, brochure, pamphlet or any other item that will fit into our bags. IN-KIND SPONSORS Want to donate goods or services for the walk? Sponsorship benefits for in-kind donations will be based upon a 2-to-1 ratio compared with the standard cash sponsorship. 13

15 THINGS TO KNOW 1. Sponsors are present at the Walk for the purpose of Company promotion. 2. Sponsors do not sell products on Walk Day but are welcome to collect names and promote or solicit on Walk Day and post-walk. 3. Sponsors agree to have their booth set up by 7:30am on Walk Day and to stay for the duration of the event. 4. Breakdown of sponsor booth cannot commence prior to noon on Walk Day. 5. Sponsors cannot promote items or services that directly conflict with the mission and practices of the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County. 14
