2 Spearheaded by Velosolutions, #pumpforpeace is a global initiative that unites musicians and athletes on a mission to develop sport and musical talent in third-world countries with the vision of building a healthier, more tolerant and peaceful world. The initiative s very first project launched this April in Lesotho with a free concert featuring both South African and Lesotho acts at a newlybuilt pump track in Roma. #pumpforpeace / #pumpforpeace

3 THE SPORT PUMP TRACKS Pump tracks are a worldwide success. From America to Africa pump tracks are being built in all corners of the world. They provide a playground for kids and adults alike, from beginners to professionals, a pump track provides a community with a sustainable and fun packed activity for all. So what is a pump track? A pump track is designed for all things on wheels. From mountain bikes to bmx s and skateboards a pump track is a playground for wheels. By combining rolling jumps with turns they are accessible for all. Teaching the basic skills of carrying momentum, balance and speed by using your arms and legs to pump your bike/board/scooter around the track. As you get better the tracks are designed to provide more challenging features with no changes to the construction. 4 THE SPORT PUMP TRACKS Pump tracks provide a safe and fun environment for all. They have helped to breed Olympians and world champions in DH Mountain Biking and BMX racing and have brought communities together to enjoy a fun filled activity together. 8 THE MUSIC With the successful launch of the project in Lesotho, #pumpforpeace is poised to roll out with a series of events across South Africa in 2017/2018. All shows will raise funds in support of both the construction of pump tracks and the revival of music and sport initiatives and charities in disadvantaged communities. South Africa s The Project Room is steering the engagement of artists across the country and abroad and heads up the project as event producers. All concerts will feature the very best of South African talent with audience capacities ranging between people (territory dependent). In light of the support already received across the board, we have every reason to believe that the potential scope of these concerts can evolve to include select international artists in future, says Maryke Zietsman of The Project Room. #pumpforpeace / THE MUSIC

12 VELOSOLUTIONS & CLAUDIO CALUORI Velosolutions has been an active part of the mountain bike scene for 22 years. Its founder and CEO, Claudio Caluori has been a pro athlete for many years and knows the industry like no other. Born in Switzerland, in the heart of the Alps, Claudio Caluori discovered his passion for mountain biking at a young age and went on to ride competitively from the late 1990s. With an extensive race history, he is known for his infamous Red Bull Bike/ GoPro course previews. 14 THE EVENTS The events will take place on a national level covering, at this stage, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town over a six month period at MTB parks or existing pumptracks and will feature a mountain bike ride in the morning for all enthusiasts followed by a full-day, live event of top notch South African music catering for between 3000 to 6000 people of all ages. The outdoor Pretoria event will be held at Wolwespruit MTB park on 12 August, with The Parlotones and Karen Zoid confirmed to headline with more artists crossing musical genres to be announced shortly. The date scheduled outside of Gauteng rainy season to gain full benefit from the spirit of the initiative, celebrating an active lifestyle and staying within the theme of sport of mountain biking. The event will feature a short form MTB enduro race in the morning with Claudio Caluori, a full day of music with ticket prices ranging from R150 adults first phase tickets, R180 per person 2nd phase ticketing, R280 for VIPs and R50 for kids under the age of 12. Participation in the enduro race will sell at R300 ticket which will include access to the music concert. #pumpforpeace / THE EVENTS
