3 Welcome and Introduction The Federation Argentina of BMX FAB and the Government of Santiago del Estero has the pleasure to invite you to the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup We are organizing the 6th edition of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Santiago del Estero and the second one under the new format of World Cups where we will have 2 awesome races instead only one as we had in the past. It will be a great opportunity to all the Championship class riders can participate both days in the entire week end. Obviously, we have two prizes money to distribute in each races. Also, other important point to mention is the Argentina World Cup will be the first World Event in the UCI Olympic Qualification period, therefore the riders and teams will start in Santiago del Estero to get UCI important points on the route to reach Tokyo It s promise to be a great and very competitive sport event. It will be a new opportunity for the warmest and noisy crowd of the BMX world are going to fill the big grandstands located along the first and last straight of the track. As usual in the past editions we are going to share the Supercross event with one Argentina National BMX Series. The young riders will share the stage with the world BMX stars. Friends, get ready to enjoy an amazing party, spectacular skills, awesome races, funny and beautiful experiences. 4 City of Santiago del Estero The host city, Santiago del Estero, is located in the North Center of Argentina, on National Highway RN9 on the river banks of the Rio Dulce. It s located about km away from Argentina s capital Buenos Aires. Another important city in Argentina is Cordoba, which is located at south of Santiago del Estero about 430 km far by National highway RN9 (south). Cordoba has the International Airport, taking off and landing a lot of international flight from neighboring countries. In addition to this, also the Tucuman city is near Santiago del Estero, is about 160km far by National Highway RN9 (north) Santiago del Estero is the older city in Argentina and is the Capital of the province with the same name. It offers a great amount of tourist, historic and religious attractions. Whether through the Riverside Avenue next to Rio Dulce or getting to know the historical building, the city offers fantastic recreations attractive. It s because the days are full of sun, but the nights are also full of attractions; there are a lot of pubs, international and regional food, the traditional peñas (regional food and local music folklore ), high level casino, festival and culture events, which give life to the nights of the city. In order to organize sport events we have to say this year are organized in April of 2014 one of the most important sport event in South America, the Moto GP in the new car track in Termas de Rio Hondo city, next to Santiago del Estero only 70km away. pág. 4

5 For more information on Santiago del Estero s events and attractions visit Sport Center of Santiago del Estero The Sports Center of Santiago del Estero is located at east of the city, at bike riding distance from the city center. With a size of 40 hectares, the Sport Center offers spaces for different sport activities. Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Rugby, Athletics, etc... and obviously the BMX with one of the most important BMX club in Argentina. Since the last 6 years ago the Sport Center of Santiago del Estero have received a big inversión in order to renovate and create a new and modern sports facility. In this way the BMX club A.SA.BI Asociacion Santiagueña de Bicicross has got a great economic support from the government of the province, in order to building one of the most important facilities of BMX in South America because not only you can find a great SX track, also under the two starts hill gates, there are important infrastructure like offices, bathrooms, gym, hostel, storages, etc... All the spaces beside the track with the nice green grass creating a beautiful view of all the venue. The entrance to the Sport Center is found at Pastor Mujica Street on 250m from the corner to Alsina Avenue. 6 Registration You can enter through the UCI website clicking as follows: 1. Web services (on the homepage at the bottom, 2nd last link), then: 2. UCI World Cups 3. Riders registration Access: personal login and password of each National Federation. All riders must enter through their national federation or UCI BMX Team; no individual entries will be accepted. Only Junior and Elite riders can participate at the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup. 7 The name and address of the hotel where the Elite riders will stay while at the event must be given during the online registration. Riders Confirmation and Entry Payments Riders confirmation is on Friday 28th of September between in the main room of the Sport Center of Santiago del Estero which is very close to the BMX track: All riders/teams must attend the riders confirmation presenting their license and picking up their race numbers. Riders not being confirmed before the indicated deadline did not complete the registration procedure and will not be able to compete at the event. The entry fee for the 2018 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup is 250 for online registration. Unfortunately, we cannot receive a prepayment option by wire transfer or by credit card or another online option. The only way is to pay by cash with Euros, or in American Dollars USD 300 on site. All riders/teams must attend the rider confirmation on the first practice day Friday 28 th September, 2017 between and presenting their license and picking up their race numbers. Riders not being confirmed before the indicated deadline did not complete the registration procedure and will not be able to compete at the event. The rider s confirmation office is located at the main street of the Sport Centre of SDE, in the same room where hold the Team Managers Meeting (at short distance to the track). Late registration is only possible through the National federation and until the Riders Confirmation on site, which is on Friday 28 th September between and The entry fee for a late registration is 500 and should be paid immediately on site by cash by Euro (or American Dollar USD 600). Late entries are entries handled after the online registration deadline and before the riders confirmation deadline. Once passed the riders confirmation deadline has passed, no later entries will be accepted. Riders that were registered through the online system but that are unable to participate, should pay their entry fee to the organizer. In other words, once registered, the entry fees for each rider must be paid to the organiser whether the rider is ultimately confirmed or not. No refunds shall be given. 8 Rules The UCI BMX Supercross World Cup is governed by the current 2018 regulations which you can find in Chapter III Specific Rules for BMX Supercross World Cup Events EN_English.PDF Number Plates Each rider will be assigned a front plate by the UCI when confirming the riders. These plates will be supplied by the UCI parter BOX Component and must be used by the riders. Team Bibs Team bibs will be provided for National teams (1 per nation) by the Secretary during the rider s confirmation. Teams will be asked to pay a 100 deposit. The team bibs give access to allocated places explained by the PCP during the team managers meeting. The bibs need to be returned to the Secretary at the end of the competition in exchange for the deposit fee. Accreditation All rainbow passes are delivered to the teams during the first event of the season that they attend. If additional sporting passes are necessary the request needs to be send before the event to kevin.maccuish@uci.ch For the request, please indicate the reason, the name and the contact details of the person for whom they are requested. Additional sporting passes will be distributed during riders confirmation in the registration room. Riders access All riders are provided with a wristband so the can access the premises. 9 Extra Practice Possibilities This year we are organizing some extra trainings days at Santiago del Estero BMX Supercross track. All participants of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup can participate. Date and time schedule: Tuesday 25 th September, 2018 between and Wednesday 26 th September, 2018 between and Costs: 25.- or USD 30.- per rider per training. Please make a reservation by sending an to sxargentina@gmail.com Payment: only in cash, by Euro or American Dollar (not Argentine pesos) The payment must be made at the office located under the SX start ramp in ground level. After payment you will receive a receipt and a special wristband for each rider and each training. 13 Team Area / Tents All teams can have a 4 x 4 meters tent (13,1 x 13,1 ) at their disposal in the Team Area. The Team Area is close to the track and is under the care of security. A tent in the Team Area can be rented by teams for USD 450 during the three days of Supercross, from the Friday 28 th September at 12:00 (midday) to the Sunday 30 th September at 19:00 (evening). Also it is possible to rent more than one tent; they will be connected to create one large space. Each tent includes: 1 table, 4 chairs and power electricity. Power will be provided until 30 minutes after the end of competition of each day. Also includes a special parking space next to the Team Area. To book one or more tents, please contact to the organization by completing the form of the Appendix 1 and returning it to this address: sxargentina@gmail.com Please reserve your tent before of the 22 nd September, Only teams that have hired a tent are allowed to remain in the Team Area. Alternate space will be provided the riders and persons who have not hired a tent. Payments for tents must be made upon arrival; always in cash, by American dollar or Euros (not Argentine pesos) before number plates are distributed, during the Rider Confirmation. Then the passengers have to go to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires (AEP). 1,5 hours drive distance separate the international to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires dependind the traffic condition. After 110 min the domestic flight from Buenos Aires will be landing at Santiago del Estero airport (SDE) that is located only 7 km away from the BMX track. Moreover, another possibility to reach SDE city, is to get a domestic flight from Buenos Aires (AEP) to Termas de Rio Hondo airport (RHD). Shuttle service between the airports in Buenos Aires In Buenos Aires city, the International Airport Ezeiza EZE and the domestic airport, Aeroparque AEP, are located separated a distance around of 1,5 hours drive or more depending the traffic conditions. 19 Prize Money Equal prize money will be paid to the top 16 men and top 16 women in both races. Prize money from both days shall be available for collection, by cash in Euro or equivalent in American Dollars (not in Argentine pesos), from the office located under the SX start ramp, at the end of the competition (Sunday 30th September, 2018), immediately after award ceremony. 20 BMX Challenger National Series A race destined to the all Amateur riders in Argentina and South America will be organized at the same weekend of the 2018 BMX World Cup in Santiago del Estero. As we had made in the successful past editions, the BMX s South America families are going to be a part of this amazing event. So, the kid riders from 5 years old, the young riders, the men and women riders, who are riding cycling BMX in South America and why not, from the other continents, will have the opportunity to share the same weekend in the same amazing venue with the professional BMX riders in our awesome BMX combo track of Santiago del Estero. This BMX challenger race are going to be a part of our official 2018 National Serie calendar but is open for all the challenger riders who wants to compete. The Challenger categories are the same specified in the UCI rules. In the official web page of the "Federacion Argentina de BMX" [ ] you can check all the challenger categories that we have in our BMX National series This Competition Guide is an invitation to all challenger riders from all countries to participate of our BMX National Series. 21 USEFUL INFORMATION BMX Track Access before the week of Event The Santiago del Estero track will be available for practice sessions until Sunday 23th September, The price for permission of use the track is USD 40 cash for each rider per day. The ASABI BMX club is the owner of the track. They are going to collect the money of the booked training sessions. Ask them for special rate of group or delegation. In order to book the training session, please write to: The Pro Gate start system will be working in the following times every day: Morning from 9:00 hs to 12:00hs - Evening from 17:00 to 20:00hs Entrance Tickets The track of Santiago del Estero is equipped with comfortable grandstands that can accommodate four thousand spectators located to the right side of the first straight and to the right side of the final straight line. All persons, public in general, parents and non-competing riders who are not registered must pay the entrance ticket. UCI BMX Supercross: the price ticket per person is $ 150 (Argentina s pesos) valid for the three days of the event from 15 th to 17 th September. Expo Area At the site may find kiosks and shops to buy merchandising of the UCI BMX Supercross, as well as food and drink stalls. Expo area which will be open to spectators, participants and the general public and could be presents a great opportunity to showcase your brand. 23 BMX Track The track was built by Elite Trax Inc and Tom Ritzenthaler on The iconic Double Start Ramps were built out of concrete. One of them is 6m high for the challenger classes and the other one, the tallest with 8m high for the Supercross class, all in accordance with de UCI rules. The concrete surface provides to the riders a very fast surface with a better grip than the other start ramps made of wood. 24 Medical Cover The medical coverage on the track will be covered by the team of doctors and paramedics from the Ministry of Health of Santiago del Estero province. The Medical team will be present throughout the practices and racing. The team will be distributed along the track and the medical room will be located like every world cup in Argentina under the SX ramp at the East side. The medical room it will be full equipped with the elements and medical equipment used in emergency case, in total agree with the instruction ordered from the appointed UCI official to the World Cup. Also there will be always 3 ambulances at the venue in case of need to transfer some injured rider to the hospital.
