Who would have thought that a quet cast would quckly turn nto a tug-of-war, wth you on one sde and a jumpng, sharply-turnng, fast-runnng beast on the other? Suddenly a mghty head broke the surface, just yards from the boat. Thnkng the contest over, you tred to reel n the mghty Northwoods musky, but another run drectly at the boat proved that the monster wasn t qute through. You kept your cool and soon the great fsh was brought to the sde of the boat for a quck pcture and a gentle release. Whether ths s the frst tme you ve cast a lne or you have fshed for many years, encounterng a musky has a way of leavng you breathless and full of memores. The Vlas County Musky Marathon helps celebrate such memores. Started n 1964, the Musky Marathon runs the entre musky season.
