2 Competition Rules 1. Fixture rules are in accordance with the Australian Netball Rule Book, unless otherwise stated in these rules. 2. All games will be 2 x 12 minute halves, 2 min half time and 4 mins in between games. No injury time. 3. Game times: 9.30am 5.30pm Saturday & 9.00am 4.00pm Sunday 4. Teams must score their own games. A scorer from each team must sit together and score the entire game at the score chairs allocated. 5. Score cards will be courtside on a clipboard in a plastic container along with the game ball at the scorer s area. Score cards are to be returned to control at the completion of the game by the winning team s Manager/Scorer. 6. Teams are to supply their own practice balls. 7. Fingernails must be cut short (not visible above fingers) with no taping. No jewelry, body jewelry, body piercing or hair combs may be worn. Netball gloves may be worn. 8. Uniform requirements: Teams with netball uniforms must all wear the same uniform. Team without netball uniforms must wear matching tops and bottoms. Shirts may be different designs and makes but they must be the same color. All teams must supply their own playing bibs. 9. Points: Win 3, Draw 2, Play /U Division will follow NSG rules, please find a copy enclosed within this document. This division is non-competitive, and all players within this division will receive a medallion. 11. All other divisions will have winners and runners up. 12. Team Coaches must have a basic first aid kit. 13. Teams must supply a competent umpire. Umpire allocations are the responsibility of each team. 14. Team Coaches should remind players to drink plenty of fluids, wear soft brimmed hats or visors, sunscreen, and suitable footwear. 15. On arrival each team is to submit a replacement team form 10/U presentations will take place at 2.10pm and all other presentations will take place at the end of the day Sunday.

4 First Aid: Cairns Netball Association will be providing a First Aid person over the course of the weekend. She is able to strap and will be providing first aid to all injuries. If you require her please come to the first aid room or control. If you need to be strapped please bring your own tape, it will be at no cost to be strapped. Facilities: We have showers at the courts so people that teams can utilize. Canteen is stocked! With yummy food all day; pasta, sushi, salad wraps, fruit salad, hot chips, dim sims, treats, coffee and lots more. Coffee van Coffee your way will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday morning till 11.30am Marquees Cairns Netball have limited marquees due to needing to supply 7 for our Representative teams. We have plenty of space, so if you could bring your own that would be preferable. 5 SUNCORP NETSETGO RULES Suncorp NetSetGO rules for modified game play Suncorp NetSetGO rules and equipment have been modified to cater for 5-10-year-olds. Goal post: 2.4m (8ft) in height Ball: Size 4 Match duration: 4 x 10 minute quarters Players should experience all positions over the course of the program/season Time to pass the ball: Five seconds Centre pass: The initial centre pass will be taken by the team who won the toss and all other centre passes shall be taken by the team that did not score the last goal. Stepping: Shuffling on the spot to regain balance is allowed providing participants don t move down the court. Defending: One-on-one defence. Players may defend a shot at goal. Obstruction: A player must defend from a distance no less than 1.2m (4 ft). Substitutions: The game time should be evenly distributed amongst all players. A team may make unlimited substitutions at intervals or at any time during play. The procedure for making a substitution during play is: Before entering the court, the substitute shall tag the player leaving the court. Both the substitute and the player leaving the court shall not interfere with the play during the substitution process. Both the substitute and the player leaving the court shall observe the Offside rule when leaving or entering the court. Players should be substituted into either only attack positions or only defence positions for the duration of the game.
