1 Course: Physical Education 1 Instructor: Mrs. Mayner cmayner@lindenschools.org Course Description: This course is designed to help students recognize, understand, and practice the correct ways to participate in personal and team working environments. Along with designated sports units, students will participate in weekly personal fitness activities that will include cardiovascular and weight training. Basketball Badminton Handball Lacrosse Floor Hockey Soccer Softball Ultimate Frisbee Volleyball Michigan Content Standards & Expectations: Content Standard 1: A physically educated person demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. Content Standard 2: A physically educated person demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities. Content Standard 3: A physically educated person participates regularly in lifelong physical activity. Content Standard 4: A physically educated person achieves and maintains a healthenhancing level of physical fitness. Content Standard 5: A physically educated person exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings. Content Standard 6: A physically educated person values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.
2 Test out requirements: o Students will need to pass all sections of the Fitnessgram testing. For specific requirements based on an individual s age & gender in each category please visit the following website: Aerobic Capacity, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Flexibility and Body Composition. Students will also need to pass a test on all of the rules to the team sports listed on the previous page. The final test score MUST be 78% or higher to successfully pass.

5 Physical Education: Review Guide Test questions will be over the following sports: basketball, badminton, handball, lacrosse, floor hockey, soccer, softball, Ultimate Frisbee, speedball and volleyball. Below are some possible questions that might be asked. However, there might be other questions this is just a general guide. I have also included a popular website for each sport. Feel free to use other resources and YouTube clips to better learn each sport listed below. Also, do not hesitate to contact me about other websites/resources or questions pertaining to rules, etc. Badminton: 1. In badminton, this object is used instead of a ball? 2.
