All exhibits must be delivered and removed at time indicated by rules of each department. Exhibits must be displayed in manner requested by Department Superintendents. Entered exhibits may not be withdrawn. Premium cards and ribbons must be displayed during the duration of the Fair. Failure to do so will cause forfeiture of awards. The posting and distribution of advertising matter is strictly prohibited other than in or from space occupied by exhibitor. The Management assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to stock or exhibits from any cause. The Management will take every precaution to protect the safety of stock or articles entered or shown after their arrival and placement; but under no circumstances will it be responsible for any loss, injury or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal or article on exhibition, and the exhibitor shall indemnify the York County Agricultural Society for any and all damages. The Society reserves the right to withhold awards where its rules and regulations are not complied with, where fraud or deception has been practiced, or where the exhibit does not merit an award. Fair reserves the right to reject or disqualify any entry. In all cases, the decision of the management shall be final. False representation, interference or misconduct by an exhibitor or his agent will be dealt with by the Director in Charge of the departments wherein the exhibit is entered. There will be no appeal from this decision. Protests against awards must be in writing and indicate the reason and be filed with the Secretary no later than the day after the award is made. Protestants will be granted a hearing if deemed necessary, by the Management. Payment of premiums will be made by check. Premium checks must be cashed within 30 days. Deadline for reporting any discrepancies in award checks is October 31, 2017.
5 Page 5 GENERAL INFORMATION JUDGES Exhibitors are not permitted to act as judges in a class in which he or she exhibits or is directly or indirectly interested. Judges must not award prizes to an unworthy exhibit. In the absence of competition, or where only one exhibit is entered, 1st, 2nd, 3rd or no premiums will be awarded according to the merit of the exhibit. Judges will make special mention of meritorious exhibits for which no premium is offered. Interference with judges will not be permitted. Interfering exhibitors will be barred from competition. All award sheets must be properly signed by the judges and returned to the head of the department immediately after the completion of awards. In paying premiums, no evidence of awards will be recognized except the entry book and sheets, signed by superintendents and judges. Ribbons, cards and labels that may be attached to exhibits will not be recognized. The decision of the judges will be final in all cases except where error, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not discovered at the time of the award, is proven. In such cases, the decision of the Management will be final.

ENTRY POLICY For exhibits in Horticultural Hall & Old Main use Gate No. 2 (Madison Ave. at Richland Ave!) Personal entries must be made in the Old Main Building, on the Fair Grounds as follows: Tuesday, September 5, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry Hours Day Tues. Sept. 5 Wed. Sept. 6 Thurs. Sept. 7 Old Main 1:00-9:00 p.m. 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Closed Horticultural Hall Closed 1:00-9:00 p.m. 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. No article may compete for more than one premium. Exhibits must be removed Monday, September 18 between 12:00 Noon and 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 19, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Exhibits will be returned to exhibitor only upon presentation of the identification ticket. There is no entry fee. Exhibitors, upon delivery of their article or articles to the proper department, will be given an exhibitors ticket which will bear the identifying numbers of the exhibit. This entitles Exhibitors to purchase one (1) Exhibitor Admission Ticket ($8.00 value) for $4.00 for each item entered. These Special Tickets are available in the Exhibition Hall when entering items. THEY WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON ANY OTHER DATES. ONLY ONE TICKET PER ITEM ENTERED. Tickets will be Void if reproduced or tampered with in any way. Exhibits which have been erroneously entered may, at the discretion of the Manager in Charge and Superintendent of the Department, be transferred to the proper class prior to judging. If such classes have been judged they shall not be re-judged. shall be paid only on awards indicated by Judges records. Fine Arts Exhibits must be original work done by the exhibitor. An exhibit which has received a York Fair award in a previous year is ineligible for a 2017 award. In the absence of competition in any class, the right is reserved to award premiums which the exhibit merits. The Society reserves the right to reject or refuse to hang or display any articles which do not meet the class specifications or any articles or displays not in good taste. Any items entered as antiques should be at least 75 years old. CASH PRIZES WILL ONLY BE AWARDED TO ITEMS PROPERLY REGISTERED.
