2 Junior High Volleyball - Summer Sports Camp For athletes entering Grade 6-9 The high school daytime camp is open to athletes going into Grade 9 who feel that their skill level is high for their age. These camps are designed for young athletes of all ages and levels of ability. They focus on a particular sport and offer players the opportunity to learn or develop their game. 3 High School Volleyball Summer Sports Camp For athletes entering Grade This camp sees a greater increase in time spent with participants split into their positions of preference. Development is encouraged based on techniques and tactics that are position specific and taught by coaches who have excelled in that position. Team play will see a variety of offensive and defensive strategies that the participants may expect to see when they get to a higher level of play. Kodiaks camps give players crucial time to develop individual skills in the off season. The key to a good camp is coaching and our Kodiaks developmental sports camps feature some of southern Alberta s best coaches and Kodiaks players who will help to make next season, the best ever! These camps are designed for young athletes of all ages and levels of ability. They focus on a particular sport and offer players the opportunity to learn or develop their game. 5 Lethbridge Skating Club Offering learn-to-skate programs for ages 3 and up. All programs are taught by Skate Canada Professional Coaches. June Ice AKA: "Break in the Boots Camp June Ice 2013 starts on Monday June 3rd - Thursday June 27th. Sessions will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays at the Primary and Int/Senior Levels Summer camps for private lessons starts on Tuesday July 2 nd and run for 4 weeks. Canskate, Canpowerskate & Starskate Camps will be offered from July 8 to 19, 2013 for 2 weeks. Registration on a first-come-first-served basis! Lethbridge BMX Association Race season begins May 4th and runs to the end of September Track is located west of Lloyd Nolan Field (6th Ave & Stafford Drive North) Weekly racing, coaching and open track times throughout the season. 6 NBC Basketball Camps School Tours at the Fort! Fort Whoop-Up National Historic Site is pleased to announce new discounted rates for schools in both Lethbridge School District #51 and Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Schools for both guided and self-guided tour options. NBC Basketball Camps: Since 1971, NBC Camps have been training athletes for success on and off the court. Junior Day Camp: July 8-12 Boys and Girls, 9am-4pm daily Introductory Lethbridge, AB: Immanuel Christian High School Basketball experience with emphasis on skills, fun and life skills training. Ages Give students a chance to view firsthand what life was like back in the late 1800 s and help them to learn about the events that led to the formation of the North West Mounted Police, the development of Southern Alberta, the influence of the whiskey trade, and about the Blackfoot Culture. Curriculum connections to the Alberta Social Studies Curriculum are available for grades one through twelve in both self-guided and guided tour options. We are now booking for 2013, after our grand re-opening on May 18 th. Admission per student with these programs starts at $2 each. Spring and summer programs will end with a bang, weather depending, as we fire off the period cannon as part of each tour. 7 INLINE HOCKEY, ALL THE THRILL WITHOUT THE CHILL Lethbridge Roller Hockey What is Inline Hockey? Inline or roller hockey is a game similar to ice hockey with the major difference is that it is played on a smooth surface with roller blades. The team on the surface is comprised of 4 skaters and a goalie. There is no hitting and no icing. ORGANIZATION OF THE LEAGUE Registrations are accepted from individuals, groups of friends or complete teams. If a person registers on their own, they are put on a team with other members from their area of the city. Registration Information & Forms Available at or info@lmrhl.ca. Contact Terry Hertzke at or JUNIOR FIRST TIME HANDGUN Handgun target shooting can be a safe, exciting, fun lifetime sport. Why not learn from a qualified instructor in an environment that ensures safety? The Chinook Country Shooters Club (CCSC) is offering free handgun shooting to anyone 17 years or younger (must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). A qualified CCSC instructor will provide a one-on-one firearm experience and a safe place to try target shooting. Your instructor will provide basic firearm safety instruction and show you how to operate a revolver or semi-automatic pistol. The instructor donates his time; CCSC covers all costs for equipment/supplies. 11 Southwest Little League Registration Information We will accept registrations up to March 25th After that date players will go on a waiting list and will be selected to a team based upon availability. Divisions T Ball Ages 4 to 6. Games are played on Tuesdays & Thursdays. For 2013 there will be 2 leagues; League One will run from May 7th to June 27th (16 games) and League Two will run from May 7th to July 25th (24 games). Fees for League One $120 and League Two. $160 Coach Pitch Ages 6 to 7. Games are played on Mondays & Wednesdays. For 2013 there will be 2 leagues; League one will run from May 6th to June 26th (16 games) and League Two will run from May 6th to July 24th (24 games). Fees for League One $140 and League Two. $180 Rookie Ages 7 8. Games are played on Mondays & Wednesdays. Games are scheduled to run from April 29th to June 26th (18 games). League fees $140 There will be a T Ball, Coach Pitch and Rookie wind up day on June 29th and this will include all League Two players. Minor Ages Games are played on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Games are scheduled to run from April 16th to June 13th (18 games). Play offs will run to the end of June. League fees $170. Minor players aged 10 can try out for the Major division. Players aged 11 can play in the Minor division if they do not play in the Major division. Major Ages Games are played on Mondays & Wednesdays. Games are scheduled to run from April 15th to June 12th (18 games). Play offs will run to the end of June. League fees are $170. Players aged 11 to 12 can try out for the Intermediate division. Intermediate Ages Games are played on Tuesday & Friday one week and Tuesday & Thursday the following week. Games are scheduled to run from April 16th to June 14th (18 games). Play offs will run to the end of June. League fees are $180. Players aged 13 can try out for the Junior division. Junior Ages Games are played on Monday & Thursday one week and Wednesday & Friday the following week. Games are scheduled to run from April 15th to June 13th (18 games). During the morning certified professionals will teach lessons on the FUNdamental movement skills including jumping, catching, throwing and running!
