11 Coaching Staff Bios Don Nachbaur, Head coach Nachbaur joins the B-Sens for the season after coaching the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League for the past six seasons. In 432 regular season games with the Americans, Nachbaur has amassed 235 wins, 155 losses, 25 overtime losses and 17 shootout losses. Nachbaur s Americans have reached the playoffs in all six seasons he has coached them, including a run to the Western Conference finals in Nachbaur has been named WHL coach of the year twice, first in when he led the Seattle Thunderbirds to a record and again in with Tri-City when he lead them to a franchise record 108 points with a record. Nachbaur began his coaching career with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL in the season. He would remain behind the bench in Seattle for six seasons ( ). From to Nachbaur served as assistant coach for the AHL s Philadelphia Phantoms. The 50 year-old Kitimat, B.C. native was drafted in the third round of the 1979 NHL entry draft (60th overall) by the Hartford Whalers. Over his 14-year professional career Nachbaur played 223 NHL games with the Hartford Whalers, Edmonton Oilers and Philadelphia Flyers. He notched 23 goals and 46 assists for 69 points in regular season play and recorded 465 penalty minutes. Nachbaur has also played 469 games in the American Hockey League, including parts of six seasons as a member of the Hershey Bears. Over his impressive AHL career Nachbaur earned 174 goals and 187 assists for 361 points and recorded 1,452 penalty minutes. He led the Fury to a record (3rd place Western Conference) in his first season as head coach in the minor-pro ranks. The Fury upset second-seeded Missouri three games to none in the first round of the conference playoffs before bowing out to Quad City four games to two in the conference final. Busniuk was the Montreal Canadiens 10th pick (67th overall) in the 1971 NHL Entry Draft. The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native appeared in 143 NHL games, all with Philadelphia after being signed as a free agent by the Flyers in October of His American Hockey League career spanned 397 games with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs and the Maine Mariners in which he registered 160 career points. Busniuk is one of four people in AHL history to win five Calder Cup championships as a player, and the only one to capture four consecutive cups. Busniuk s pro coaching career began in the Southern Tier as an assistant coach with the Binghamton Rangers (AHL). When the franchise moved to Hartford, CT, in 1997, Busniuk remained as the assistant for another five seasons with the New York Ranger-affiliated Wolf Pack. Matt Meacham, Video coach Meacham, a native of Massena, N.Y., enters his second full season with the Binghamton Senators as video coach, following a two-year professional career. Meacham played two seasons in goal for Skidmore College, prior to joining the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons for the season. Meacham holds the record at SUNY Cortland for the most saves in a season, after registering 805 that year. In his senior year, Meacham was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Hockey Player of the Week, for the week ending January 22, 2006, as he lead the Red Dragons to their first win over SUNY Oswego for the first time in nine years. He finished with 39 saves in the 5-4 victory and posted a 55 save effort in a 1-1 tie with Utica, tying a career-high in saves. For the week he posted a.949 save percentage and 2.40 goals against average over the two games. Prior to the end of the season Meacham left Cortland to pursue his professional hockey career. For the remainder of the season he split time between the Jacksonville Barracudas of the SPHL and the Elmira Jackals, who were at that time a part of the UHL. In his final professional season with Jacksonville in , Meacham played 20 games, logging 1,069 minutes. He posted a record with a 3.65 goalsagainst-average as he helped backstop his team to the SPHL finals.
