Participants are judged just as they would be at the fair and are given critiques so they know what to improve on in the next month. They are given tips, and real world practice in order to polish their skills before the fair. The hosting clubs will be sending out an with location information!

Individuals are able to bring 5 entries, 1 per class. Primary members are encouraged to participate with their plants. Save the Date Color Run February 12th We will have National Media Coverage! 5 All Star Corner We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams ~ willie wonka (gene wilder, august 29,2016) Happy New Year! To all our fellow 4-H volunteers, members and supporters, we wish you all good things in this 2017 New Year. Like many of you 4-H ers, we too ended the year by being super busy and making some great memories for ourselves. All four of us have purchased our livestock for the upcoming fair. Rose is busy tending to her rabbits, cavies and has been working with her Dairy Heifer, named Sloane. Addyson has been bundling up every cold morning and evening, as she tends to her feeder calf, Kirk and his rabbit are becoming quite the show team, and Keeley s market goat and horses have taken up most of her free time too. This is an exciting time for our Imperial County 4-H program. December 2016 started out with us attending the Holiday Hoopla which was held at Up Space in El Centro on Thursday, December 1st. The club that received our spirit stick for having the most members in attendance was Dogwood 4-H Club. Congratulations Dogwood, we look forward to seeing how you decorate our stick for the month. On Saturday, December 10 th, Keeley led our team on putting together the First Annual Santa Paws & Claws 5K Fun Run and Walk in co operation with the Imperial Chamber of Commerce s Christmas in a Small Town. The $ 1,300 that was made at this event benefitted the Imperial County Humane Society. Mark your calendar for next year s event, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 9, Same place, same time, same entry fee, but most of all, same furry fun highlighting a Run for the Paws community service opportunity for you to take part in. Seth Hilfiker, and Verde 4-H Club took the lead in planning our much-anticipated Hi 4-H get together on Monday, December 19th. We started out the evening with a scavenger hunt, feasted on BBQ hamburgers hot off the grill, drank lemonade, watched a movie, but most of all, we had a fun night kicking back and hanging out with High School 4 -H members from clubs throughout the valley. We look forward to seeing more of you high school members at the next Imperial County Hi 4-H meet up! We ended the 2016 year, finalizing our exciting, fun filled Leadership Overnight (LON) weekend titled: Finding Your True Grit: The Secret Ingredient in your Success. We have secured Indian Hills Camp in Jamul, CA from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2, LON is open to all Imperial County 4-H ers and THIER FRIENDS who are between the ages of Plans are for you to step back into the Old West as you unload your saddlebags and set up your bedroll in one of 12 cabins (each cabin sleeps 12) as you enter Coyote Gulch Western Town Cabin street. Check out their website: As we welcome the 2017 New Year, your All Star team will be representing Imperial County 4-H by attending the Teen Involvement Conference at Pathfinder Ranch the weekend of January We will be visiting some clubs this month and we will be looking forward to seeing you at the Imperial County 4-H Small Animal & Large Animal Pre Fair and Plant show, Saturday, January 28 th at the fairgrounds. As a quick reminder to our upcoming County 4-H Event, we will be on the lookout to see which 4-H Club will have the most members in attendance and most of all, show the most club spirit, (wear your club shirt, get your club together and come up with a club chant, demonstrate your club comradery by helping each other).as we award our spirit Stick for January, 2017.

7 4-H Christmas Market The 4-H Christmas Market was a great success! The proceeds from the silent auction aid in refurbishing the still exhibits building located at the IVEXPO. 4-H members, leaders, and community members donated homemade crafts and baskets of goodies to be auctioned off. EDUCATIONAL DISPLAY RESULTS First of all, I want to apologize for taking so long to share the results of the Educational Display Contest that took place during the 4-H BBQ. Secondly I want to thank Tresa Acosta for making the ribbons that were presented during the event.
