3 RACE LICENCE Race Licence and ID This eent is affiliated with the BTF, so please remember to bring your triathlon race licence (if you hae one) and some form of photo identification. This will speed up registration. This eent is licensed by British Triathlon. For more membership information and benefits, click here. If you are not a member of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland, the Welsh Triathlon Association or equialent, then you will hae to pay the 3 day membership fee. This will be cash only, no card payments.

4 WAVE TIMES Check your confirmation to find out which wae/eent you are entered into. Race briefing occurs 10 minutes before each wae starts. Please arrie at least 1 hour before your wae start time. 5 By Road Dorney Lake nearest Post Code SL4 6QP Exit the M4 motorway at Junction 7 Turn left onto the A4 towards Maidenhead Pass through one set of traffic lights and after 500m turn left at roundabout onto B3026, signposted for Dorney and Eton Pass back oer the M4 entering illage of Dorney On sharp left-hand bend, turn right signposted Dorney Reach After 400m enter Dorney Lake site through large double white gates Follow perimeter road to left By Train GETTING THERE Main stations for the Lake are Slough and Windsor & Eton Rierside. It is also near Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead.

6 CAR PARKING Please leae plenty of time to get to the enue. Car parking will be at the side of the bike course. The only access will be ia the MAIN access road. Please follow the signs as you come into the enue. You will hae approximately a 20 minute walk to the race site, so allow yourself extra time after you hae parked your car. Please keep off the bike course and do not cross any roped-off areas. Arrial and departure is possible any time.

7 SCOOTATHLON Scootathlon The first eent to kick the day off will be the kids Scootathlon. Split into similar age groups, these budding triathletes will complete the 3 lap challenge swapping between disciplines after each lap. A scooter, bike and helmet are required. Helmets must be worn at all times. The Scootathlon is a 3 lap multi-discipline eent starting with an anti-clockwise scoot round the 390m tarmac course, before swapping to a bike for another 390m ride lap before the final 250m run to culminate under the finish gantry. There will be medals for each finisher and spot prizes. Time 08:30 08:45 Age 4, 5 and 6 year old boys and girls together 7 and 8 year old boys and girls together

8 REGISTRATION Registration opens at 07:30am in the registration marquee. Please arrie at least 1 hour before your wae start time. Register and collect your race pack which contains: Race numbers (pinned to your front or on a race belt) Numbered wristband for Transition entrance/exit Sticky numbers for the front of your helmet and bike Please attach ALL numbers before entering Transition. Bikes are racked by race number. Only competitors are allowed in Transition (no parents). Please note that the HIGH-PERFORMANCE DRAFTING and SUPER SERIES YOUTH eents are run with gear restrictions so please allow an extra hour for checks. For more information, click here. ELECTRONIC TIMING Collect your timing chip from the registration marquee. Attach it around your left ankle. We will endeaour to proide all timing splits, but this is not guaranteed. Lost chip charge is 35 so secure it well. We will collect it at the finish line.

12 THE COURSE SWIM START Competitors will need to leae transition ia the EXIT between BIKE IN & BIKE OUT and follow signs to the SWIM START PEN located on the grass area before the bridge. You will be briefed on land before entering the water 10 minutes before wae start time. The start will be alongside the first pontoon. It will be an in water / deep water start. RUN COURSE The run course will be a 2.5km lap from run out alongside the lake with a drink station at the start of each lap. There will be a shorter lap of 1.8km / 1km / 600m for other competitors which will be clearly marked and marshalled.

13 THE COURSE TRANSITION ENTRY OPENS AT 7:30 You will be allowed into transition if you are wearing your race number as well as your bike and helmet haing a corresponding number (all found in your race pack). Your helmet must be on your head and fastened before entering transition. Officials WILL BE checking that your helmet correctly fits i.e. when fastened you should only be able to get two fingers under the strap. Please ensure it is adjusted correctly before entering. You will be turned away if it's not correct. Draft legal bike requirements / checks will be carried out CHECK RULE BOOK BTF website

14 TRANSITION ENTRY OPENS AT 7:30 THE COURSE Transition and Mount (Racks will be numbered): bring only essential equipment into transition, boxes will not be allowed next to your bikes and will be remoed to the edge of transition. Bright coloured towels, talc, or any other forms of obious position marking will be dealt with by the Transition Official resulting in time penalties. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Haing exited the SWIM, run into transition, find your bike. Do not touch your bike until you hae put your cycle helmet on and fastened it. Run with your bike out of transition ia the exit marked with "Bike Out" signs. Do not get onto your bike until you reach the marked mount line. Remember at this point your race number should be displayed on your back. The race number should be on your front for the RUN LEG

15 EVENT RULES No mobile phones, personal stereos, MP3 players or ipods to be used in Transition or during the eent itself at any time. It is forbidden to mark your position in Transition. Your cycle helmet is to be on and fastened before you touch your bike and remain on and done up until after your bike is racked. It is forbidden to cycle in Transition. Drafting is forbidden on the bike (except Super Series and High-Performance Drafting waes see separate rules on next page). Drafting is cycling too closely behind another cyclist and gaining an adantage. The drafting zone is 10m, so keep at least 10m behind the cyclist in front, unless you are oertaking oer a 20 second period. The wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is goerned by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on a water temperature reading one hour before the eent start. 16 EVENT RULES DRAFT LEGAL ONLY The British Triathlon Junior years Super Series, British Triathlon Youth Super Series years, High-performance Drafting years and High-performance Drafting years waes are DRAFT LEGAL. The below rules do not apply to the non-drafting eents: BIKE REGULATIONS Only traditional drop handlebars are permitted. The handlebars must be plugged; Clip-ons, including the bridge, must not exceed the foremost line of the brake leers; Water bottles and water bottle holders may not be mounted onto the handlebars or clip-on. Brakes: Disc brakes are allowed for all races. Wheels: Please click here for wheel restrictions rules Helmets: Approed cycling safety helmets of ANSI Z90.4, SNELL B90, EN 1078 or an equialent national standard must be worn by competitors. A CE mark is not an approal mark and should not be treated as approal. Helmets must be used in all actiities when the competitor rides the bike. competition, familiarisation and training sessions. An alteration to any part of the helmet, including the chin strap, or the omission of any part of the helmet, including an outer cloth coer, is prohibited.

18 FACILITIES & PRIZES Facilities There will be onsite catering, toilets, changing and shower facilities. All participants will hae a small space next to their bikes within transition to keep their bag. All bags are left at your own risk, please leae all aluables in your car. Prizes Redeemable prize coupons will be awarded to the first three males and first three females in each wae (not indiidual age categories). Prizes will be sent out after the eent.

19 SAFETY Medical teams and ambulances will be on standby in case of accidents. If you see an incident, please report it to the nearest marshal who will alert the medical team. For your safety in the water, water-based safety teams will be positioned along the swim course as well as shore-based lifeguards. IMPORTANT: Please write any medical details on the back of your race number and put a small indelible red cross on the front of your number to indicate a known medical issue. Whether you hae a medical condition or not, if you feel unwell - don t race!
