2 Welcome Everyone who has taken part in a Sandpiper Rendezvous so far has acclaimed it as a fantastic event and an experience not to be missed. Rendezvous 2007, Rosseau Raid is based on a Scottish 'Raid' or expedition for boats powered by sail. It takes place on Lake Rosseau in early August. The event is a Raid or expedition and moving festival for small sailboats. What to Expect: a) Saturday: A 20 mile cruise including overnight anchorage, to exploit the Sandpipers cruising capabilities. b) Sunday: Distance cruise races, strictly for fun, Rosseau Raid aims to provide an opportunity for relaxed sailing in small boats and to encourage the use and development of such boats for cruising, racing and 'expedition making'. It is an informal weekend enjoying good fun sailing together, safely, courteously, while exchanging ideas and learning more about various aspects of our intrepid pocket cruisers. In addition, the event provides a unique sample of Muskoka Summer culture. Where else will you see crystal clear water, spectacular granite shorelines, wind blown pines, and classic cottage architecture? Sandpiper S565 sailors of all levels of ability and experience and of all ages are invited. Rosseau Raid is for anyone with a spirit of adventure and a desire to have a good time in small boats. Because of interest already indicated, CL sailboats are also welcome. The base will be the Village of Rosseau Municipal Dock. To register for Rendezvous 2007, print out the attached form at the end of this document, fill it out and surface mail it along with a cheque. 3 Schedule Note: The following schedule may be altered during the weekend due to the nature of our sport and weather conditions. Participants should have at least one anchor and line for tying off. A second anchor is encouraged Arrival Friday August 3rd/07 Friday August 3 rd, Boats launch at the Rosseau Park & Public Dock, in the Village of Rosseau. Cars and trailers can park just south of the dock for the weekend. The Rosseau Farmers Market will be taking place until 2:00 PM at the park so you will not be able to park on site until after the Market closes. Individual boats may be allowed to launch before 2:00PM but your car and trailer must be removed until after 2:00PM. Access to washrooms will be available all night. Saturday August 4th/07 The Cruise Skipper s meeting at covered gazebo to discuss cruise route, receive charts of lake, and designate radio communication channel for the weekend Cast off. Itinerary to include sailing, rafting, island circumnavigation, anchorage for overnight aboard Raft up for group dinner and socializing. Evening - Anchor at Dunal s cottage or other close by locations for the night. Enjoy evening swim.

4 Sunday August 5th/07 The Regatta Distance Cruise Races. Several casual races will be held in a format that will allow all sailors to learn sail handling, boat maneuvering and navigation techniques from each other. (No racing experience necessary!) Return to Village of Rosseau Municipal Dock. The Gathering Evening dinner at a local restaurant. Evening - Tie up at the Village of Rosseau Docks for the night.
