3 1. Georgian Gas Transportation Company, LLC Georgian gas transportation company was founded December 30, It is the successor of GRUZTRANSGAZ. 100% ownership was transferred to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia along with the management right. The Company is the only licensed operator of the high-pressure gas pipelines in Georgia. The length of the operated gas pipeline is km. The total capacity of the gas pipeline is ths. m³. Georgian Gas Transportation Company, LLC serves 386 metering sites distributed among 296 gas distribution stations. The design capacity of the pipeline is 20 bcm per year. The Company took part in 4 national and 6 regional events of the INOGATE Programme; Harmonisation of standards and practices with EU principles; Acquisition of best practices in the area of gas metering and cross-border trade; Optimisation of gas metering system and pressure control system. 3

12 Improvement of procedures at the measuring stations and gas pressure regulators Within the pilot area we visited 7 gas distribution stations. The recommendations on the modernisation of these gas distribution stations have been received. It was concluded that the modernisation of these stations will significantly reduce gas losses, and the investments made will be repaid within 10 years. The measurement accuracy can be improved by 2% through the introduction of effective maintenance and calibration. GGTC is currently considering these proposals. 12

Situation today The introduction of new technologies has increased the efficiency of our technical services, made the management of the gas system more mobile and sped up the collection of necessary information and its analysis, and most important outcome was the reduction of losses in the gas system. 14 5. Conclusions Further efforts are needed to improve the modern gas metering systems and associated procedures used in gas transmission as well as to adopt cost-effective methods to ensure long-term stability and accuracy of gas measurement. 14
