Residual Confirm the requirements regarding work on energised equipment and apparatus. Obtain work approval and confirm any client site/safety instruction. Check scope of works to confirm whether work be re-scheduled so it may be isolated? Safe Work Methods Confirm with client that works meet the requirements regarding work on energised equipment and apparatus and the risk of harm would be greater if the circuits were de-energised before work commenced. Confirm that person/s carrying out the work are appropriately qualified, competent, confident and trained for the task. Residual Confirm you have a safety observer who is competent to perform the task being observed and is also competent in electrical rescue and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Clearly Identify the isolation point and the entry/exits are clear of obstructions with barriers/ropes/signage installed to prevent unauthorised entry. Working persons shall confirm rescue procedures and have attended confined space rescue training. Carry out scope of works provided you have an appropriate safe system of work and you are confident. Test and commission new works and reinstall covers. Clean work area, remove and pack away equipment. Complete appropriate documentation (switchboard schedules, update drawings and work book). Electrician to carry out daily inspections of work site for hazards. Electrician to be trained in hazard identification, Level and control. Appropriate industry induction. All personnel to maintain tidy work site. Electrician to be certified as a qualified Electrical Supervisor. Previous experience required. Safety observer who is competent to perform the task being observed and is also competent in electrical rescue and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Engineering Details / Certificates / WorkCover Approvals / Australian Referenced Codes of Practice / Regulations / Legislation Standards Installation to be in accordance with AS 3000 Standards and client's specifications. Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations 2011, Electrical Safety Act 2002 and Regulations 2013, Electrical Safety Code of Practice 2010, Hazardous Manual Tasks Code of Practice 2010, Plant Code of Practice 2005, Mobile Crane COP 2006, Industry Standard for Electrical Installations on Construction Sites Plant / Equipment Required (Mobile or Static) Portable hand tools, electrical power tools, drills, leads and ladders. Hazard Identification to be conducted for plant used e.g. Scissor lift, boom lift, cherry picker mechanical handling equipment, appropriate test equipment, barriers, clothing, personal protective equipment (PPE), Insulated tools and mats, and pre-checked test equipment. Persons responsible for ensuring compliance with this SWMS Maintenance Checks / Calibration Intervals Hand tools and ladders to be checked daily.
