6 3. Evacuatin Exits and Prcedures In the event f an emergency, all building ccupants must respnd t emergency signals and ntificatins. In the event evacuatin is necessary, all ccupants will evacuate immediately using the nearest available marked exit and prceed t the clsest meeting area. In the event f fire, all building ccupants are t evacuate immediately. Fr gatherings exceeding 1,000 peple, trained crwd managers will direct and assist the event attendees in evacuatin during an emergency and assist emergency respnse persnnel where requested. If applicable, specific lcatins fr Areas f Refuge may be fund in Sectin Critical Operatins There are n critical peratins at any FLCC sites that wuld require anyne t delay evacuatin. 6. Assembly Areas After an emergency evacuatin, emplyees and ccupants are t immediately meet at the designated Assembly Areas, prvide accuntability infrmatin t the designated persn, await further instructins and remain at least 30 feet away frm the building. Mre likely, incidents f disaster magnitude will ccur utside, such as a truck accident invlving large quantities f txic material. An emergency respnse is nt required fr incidental spills which are classified as minr spills that pse n threat t human health, prperty r the envirnment. If an indr release meets ne r mre f the fllwing cnditins, it shall cnstitute an emergency and require emergency respnse effrts: Over 500-milliters f a liquid r 1-pund f a slid fr knwn chemicals r any size f acutely txic, radiactive r unidentified chemical r cmbinatin f chemicals (i.e. strng xidizers, phenl, reactive, perxide, carcingen, P and U listed waste); Human fluids, such as but nt limited t bld, urine, and saliva, shuld ONLY be cleaned up by smene wh has received Bldbrne Pathgens training. Refer t the FLCC Bldbrne Pathgens Plan; Mercury spills shuld nly be cleaned up by smene trained t d s such as a stckrm lab technician r the Envirnmental Health & Safety Department. If an utdr release pses a threat t human health, prperty r the envirnment then an emergency respnse is required. Yu may be instructed t Shelter in Place Utility Failure Pwer Outage: What yu shuld d: Ntify FLCC Campus Safety at and prvide the fllwing infrmatin: Lcatin f the site affected Type f prblem r utage Fllw the instructins prvided by Campus Safety, utility emplyees r emergency respnders D nt hang up until advised t d s by Campus Safety. Advise emplyees/students f the prblem and actins t be taken nce a determinatin has been made. What yu shuld knw: Depending n the extent and expected duratin f the utage, a Crisis Management Team (CMT) will be activated t determine fllw-up respnses such as relcatin, cnslidatin f fd service, etc. During failure f electricity, gas (utage), water, r ther utilities, FLCC will remain in peratin if pssible. 12 8.8. Armed Intruder What yu shuld d: General: As a general rule, DO NOT apprach the persn with the weapn Mve immediately ut f the area t a safe lcatin if yu can. Wait fr the shaking t cease befre leaving the building. Outdrs Distance yurself frm trees, pwer lines, utility ples and buildings. If yu are driving, pull yur vehicle ver in a lcatin away frm trees, bridges, pwer lines, utility ples and buildings. Wait fr the shaking t cease befre leaving yur vehicle. Afterwards Once the shaking has stpped, begin t carefully evacuate. Take items such as keys, wallet, medicines r ther emergency supplies nly if they are within reach. While leaving the building, be cautius abut falling bjects and structural damage. Be alert fr persns wh are injured r trapped. If available, turn n a radi r televisin fr infrmatin. Public Assemblages and Events When the cde enfrcement fficial requires: Fire Watch Persnnel will remain n duty when the building is pen t the public r the activity is being cnducted. Fire watch persnnel shall keep diligent watch fr fires, bstructins t means f egress and ther hazards during the time such place is pen t the public r such activity is being cnducted, take prmpt measures fr remediatin f the hazards, and assist in the evacuatin f the public frm the structures. During the event, emergency vehicles, including emergency medical services vehicles, will ingress and egress thrugh the usual ingress and egress t the building. The fire prtectin system will remain active during the event. Parking will ccur in the parking lt fr the building until the lt is at nrmal maximum capacity and then parking will ccur in additinal designated lcatins withut blcking the radway. FLCC Campus Safety Officers will be present at the event and will assist with directin traffic and directing parking. 15 P age
