4 Emergency pint fr shck, pain midline between nstrils where hair ends, nse begins. A series f sharp jabs at this acupint with yur fingernail r with a needle will stimulate the bdy s prductin f the fight-r-flight hrmne, adrenaline (als called epinephrine), and the chances f the animal reviving will greatly imprve. Never stimulate this pint n a cnscius animal r yu risk getting a nasty bite. Yu may use it n newbrn pups that are having difficulty breathing. The acu pressure pint causes the gastrintestinal tract t start t cntract and mve and expels built up gas befre trsin can ccur. Massage n rute t vet, see abve images fr acu pint t help with blat. If trsin has ccurred, massaging will nt help.

5 Tubing A blat kit prvides all the items needed t tube yur dg if yu are mre than 30 minutes away frm Vet help Ask yur Vet early t teach yu t use the tubing methd in case f emergencies, especially if yu have a breed that is vulnerable t trsin Even if yu successfully tube yur pet, EXPERT MEDICAL ATTENTION IS STILL NEEDED Tubing just bught yu time t get yur pet t the Vet. Blat Emergency Kit 1/2 inch tubing 1/4 inch tubing Electrical tape Sft nyln crd 2X2X8 inch blck f wd with a hle in the center water sluble lubricant Freezer Bag t put yur ready kit with yur dgs name n the utside as each tube that has been marked will be different fr each dg. Tubing Hw T: This is an emergency prcedure t get yu and yur dg t the Vet! Remain calm and call the nearest Vet t let them knw yu are n the way with a blat case. Take the 1/2 inch tubing and run it ver the back f yur dg, mark the spt frm the tip f the nse t the last rib, this will create a guide t the tube getting int the stmach. (This shuld be dne as sn as yu get yur blat kit).

6 Place the blck f wd in the dg's muth behind the canines, between the upper and lwer jaw, with the hle facing frward. Yur dg will struggle but the blck needs t be in place, secure the blck with the nyln crd. Lubricate the tp 3 inches f the tube; hld the tube s any natural curves frm it being rlled up are dwn. Slide the tube thru the hle in the back and in a dwnward mtin twards the thrat. Push gently at the thrat an inch at a time allwing yur dg t swallw. The esphagus will be a resistance pint. If yur dg cughs persistently the tube has gne int the lungs, s pull slwly ut and try again.

7 The passage shuld be easier until the stmach. Remember push gently and firmly never frce! Once in the stmach (yur marking n the tube will give yu a gauge t if yu are there) air shuld be cming ut f the tube. Keep the tube in place; d nt let it slide back ut. Try t hang the excess tubing belw the stmach. If nthing is cming ut, gd chance smething is blcking the tube, blw a quick puff f air int the tube then quickly lwer the utside f the tube. Smetimes if the stmach has already started t trsin, the smaller tube will be the answer. If the tube will nt g int the stmach chances are the stmach has trsined and hpe yu are pulling int the Vets. Recmmendatin: Have yur Vet walk yu thru this prcedure, especially if yu are mre than 30 minutes frm yur Vet.
