The center f pressure (CP) f this rcket is 37 inches frm nse tip. After finishing yur rcket, permanently mark the center f pressure n the airframe. After lading the rcket with a mtr, make sure that the center f gravity (balancing pint) is at least ne bdy diameter frward f the center f pressure mark. 3 Other items yu will need: > Masking tape > One set f epxy > Cellphane tape > One sheet each 120 and 220 sandpaper > Ruler and pencil Please read and understand all instructins befre cntinuing! All surfaces t be bnded must be scuffed with 120 grit sandpaper. Step 1 Dry fit bth centering rings int the airframe and ver the mtr munt tube. The ntched ring can be a little snug in the airframe and n the mtr tube. If it is tight, sand the ID and/r OD fr a better fit. The standard centering ring shuld be a little lser in the airframe and ver the mtr munt tube t aid in later remval. Sand the ID and/r OD fr a lser fit if necessary. Standard centering ring Tape tabs Gap in epxy Mtr tube Gap in epxy fillet Ntched centering ring Spread a bead f epxy arund the circumference f ne end f the mtr tube leaving a 1 gap in the bead fr the ntch in the centering ring. Slip the ntched centering ring ver the mtr tube with the ntch aligned with the gap in the epxy bead. Be sure the ntch in the ring remains clear f epxy. Lcate the ring 1/2 frm the end f the mtr tube and allw the epxy t set. Apply an epxy fillet t each side f the ring still keeping the ntch clear. Slide the standard centering ring ver the mtr tube until 1/8" f the mtr tube is prtruding beynd the ring. Make 3 r 4 tabs using cellphane tape as shwn abve t aid in remving this ring later. D nt use any glue at this time, this centering ring will be remved in a subsequent step. Step 2 Epxy Fill ntch cmpletely with epxy ~4.0 Masking tape Ntch Pistn strap Spread a layer f epxy abut 1 wide and 4 lng n the mtr tube just belw the ntch in the upper centering ring. Slip ne end f the pistn strap (the widest strap in the kit) thrugh the ntch in the centering ring. Pull thrugh abut 4" f this strap thrugh the ntch and press it firmly int the epxy n the side f the mtr tube. Hld the strap in place against the tube with masking tape until the epxy cures. Remve the masking tape. Fill the entire centering ring ntch with epxy. Stuff the free end f the strap int the mtr tube t keep it ut f the way fr the next step.

4 Step 3 Yu will need a lng stick r dwel fr applying epxy in this step. Just belw is a drawing f ne gd methd fr creating an extended epxy applicatr. Simply epxy a dwel r stick t a tngue depressr r ppsicle stick. Mark the stick at Make a mark n the stick at 7.0 s yu can tell hw deep the stick is in the airframe when spreading the epxy. Using yur extended epxy applicatr, spread a bead f epxy arund the inside circumference f the airframe 7.0 frm the bttm f the airframe. Keep the mark n the stick even with the end f the airframe 7.0 Strap n mtr tube NOT in line with a fin slt Hlding the airframe upright (vertical), push the mtr tube assembly int the airframe, making sure the strap is NOT in line with a fin slt, until the bttm f the mtr tube is flush with the bttm f the airframe. Keep the assembly vertical until the epxy cures. Mtr tube flush with airframe Step 4 A) Apply a bead f epxy t the rt edge f a fin. Push the fin thrugh the slt in the airframe and against the mtr munt tube. Make sure that the fin is perpendicular t the airframe. Use tape t hld the fin in psitin while the epxy cures. Repeat this prcess fr all fins. B) Apply an epxy fillet t bth sides f each fin. Carefully smth the epxy with yur finger befre it begins t gel. Allw the epxy t set up befre rtating the rcket t d the next set f fins. Once the epxy has fully cured, yu shuld sand the fillet smth with fine sandpaper. Sanding will help the primer hld better t the epxy. C) Gently pull the centering ring ff the end f the rcket by tugging n the tape tabs. Using a stick, apply an epxy fillet t the fins at the mtr munt tube and the inner airframe wall. D) Remve the tape tabs frm the centering ring and permanently epxy it in the base f the rcket 1/8 in frm the bttm f the airframe. Epxy fillet pints

5 Step 5 NOTE: In this step yu will be using the free end f the strap that yu munted t the mtr tube assembly. A B C D E F A) Pull the free end f the strap thrugh the slt in the pistn bulk plate. B) Slip the metal "D" ring ver the strap. C) Feed the strap back thrugh the slt. D) Pull n the strap until the D ring is wedged at the slt. E) Flip the assembly ver. Spread a layer f epxy n the underside f the pistn plate as shwn. Fld the shrt end f the strap flat against the pistn plate and press it int the H epxy. Yu can use a clamp t hld the strap in the epxy while it sets. G F) When the epxy has cured, pull the strap until the "D" ring is wedged tight at the slt. Apply epxy t the strap at the "D" ring. G) Epxy the pistn plate inside the pistn bdy 1/8" frm the tp. H) Apply an epxy fillet t bth sides f the pistn plate. Step 6 In the next step yu will tie the shrt end t the eyelet n the nsecne 1/3 f shckcrd In the next step yu will tie the lng end t the D ring n the pistn Prepare the parachute per the parachute instructins. Thread the shck crd thrugh the lp yu made in the parachute shrud lines and tie it using the knt illustrated n the left. Nte that the chute shuld be attached t the shck crd at abut the 1/3 pint f the shck crd. Alternatively, yu can tie the shck crd t a kwik-link and then attach the kwik-link t the lp in the shrud lines.

6 Step 7 Thread the lng end f the shck crd thrugh the D ring and tie it using the knt illustrated belw. Alternatively, yu can tie the shck crd t a kwik-link and then attach the kwiklink t the D ring. Use the same knt t attach the ther end f the shck crd t the eye blt n the paylad sectin. 6.0 T cinch the knt, alternately pull n the trailer and push the knt twards the attach pint. Repeat until tight. T make sure the knt never slips, place a drp f epxy n the trailer where it meets the knt. DO NOT saturate the knt with epxy r CA! Pull trailer Push knt Drp f epxy Step 8 Using a sharp pinted knife, remve the flash frm the eyelet at the base f the nsecne. If necessary, yu can enlarge the eyelet by using the knife t extend the pening tward the nsecne bdy (nt tward the edges as this will weaken the eyelet. Thread the shck crd thrugh the eyelet and tie it t the nsecne using the knt illustrated belw. Add a drp f epxy t the trailer at the knt t make sure the knt never slips. DO NOT saturate the knt with epxy r CA. Alternatively, yu can tie the shck crd t a kwik-link and then attach the kwik-link t the nsecne eyelet. 6.0 Drp f epxy

7 Step 9 The rcket drawn belw is generic and may nt represent the kit yu are building. It is intended t prvide a general guideline fr munting launch lugs t this r any rcket. Sand the entire surface f each launch lug with 100 r 120 grit sandpaper. Epxy ne launch lug in place 1 t 2 inches frm the bttm f the rcket and the ther launch lug at abut the CG (balancing pint) f the rcket (withut mtr installed). If the rcket yu are building has a tailcne r battail, then munt the first lug just abve it. Be sure the lugs are perfectly in line with each ther, parallel t the airframe and nt in line with a fin.
