6 Overview Title: Unit Overview: Duratin: Oztag fr Primary Age Students This unit aims t prvide students with an experience in Oztag. As well as teaching basic rules, tactics and game play, the unit is designed t give students an understanding and appreciatin f the skills fundamental t Oztag, in particular thse that make Oztag unique. It is als designed t help students imprve their abilities in similar sprts such as tuch ftball, rugby league and rugby unin thrugh use f skills als used in these sprts. 18 dy (10 minutes) Activity 5 Mdified Game (Red Rver) Set up a field 25m wide x 30m lng Have tw defenders in the centre f the field and all ther players as attackers at ne side f the field On the whistle all attackers must run acrss the field t the ther side (t scre a try), and the defenders must make as many tags as pssible Once tagged the attacker then becmes a defender Repeat until the last tw students remaining as attackers wins and becmes the first defenders fr the next game Variatin team 1 v team 2. Oztag elts Whistle Have 1 whle team in the middle as defenders and anther whle team as attacker, then swap. Team that has the mst successful runs withut all players being tagged is the winners.
