3 User Structure and Fees User Structure and Fees GENERAL PUBLIC Swim Pass $7.00 Adult (over 18 years) includes Waterfit $5.00 Children $13.00 Family (5 family members maximum) $7.00 Parent/Tot $4.50 Senior (age 60 yrs. and up) The CHP Swim Pass will permit access, by age category, to any of our recreational swims. Reservations can be made up to four weeks in advance. If you are unable to keep your reservation, you must notify our Control Desk, at or you will be required to pay for your reserved time. We ask that if you have a child who is not walking that you limit your stay at the babysitting service to 90 minutes. 4 Lane and Recreational Swims Lane and Recreational Swims Subscribers privileges include all recreational swims (open and subscribers). Adult swims are for those over the age of 18. Lane swimming is restricted to those over the age of 13. All children under the age of 8 yrs. must be accompanied by an adult in the water. At other times (*) you have the use of one or more lanes of the competition pool and the whirlpool. The slide and diving board are not available. Parent & Tot Swim - Open to a parent and 2 tots (children under 5). Come and enjoy this special time designed for young children (limited to leisure and tot pools). Open Swim - Yahoo! Hip Hop Jazz or sweat pants, white soled sneakers, t-shirt. Dance Dance programs are offered at Cole Harbour Place through the co-operation of Dartmouth Dance Academy and Cole Harbour Place. There will be 2 dance terms offered for 2017/2018: Term 1: Sept Jan. 28 (no classes Dec Jan. 7) Term 2: Jan May 27 (no classes Mar & Mar. 30-Apr. 5) Notice for new students *Free placement consultation To receive the most benefit and enjoyment from our dance program, your child s placement in the correct level, based on their individual skills is critical. Please note the following: New students 2-5 years of age: please enroll your child in the applicable toddler/pre-school level based on your child s age as of Oct. 1, New students ages 6 years and up or students transferring from another school can contact Lisa Hart for a no-cost placement test prior to registering to ensure correct placement. Exams, training, maturity, and experience are all criteria affecting placement. DRESS CODE Toddler/Creative Movement Pink body suit, pink tights, pink ballet leather shoes are mandatory and pink skirt is optional. Pre-School/Children s Combo/Level 1&2 Pink body suit, pink tights, pink ballet leather shoes, beige tap shoes are mandatory & pink ballet skirt is optional. Level 3 & Up (also includes Beginner Ballet/Jazz for older dancers) black tank bodysuit Ballet: pink tights, pink ballet leather shoes are mandatory and a ballet skirt is optional. *pointe shoes required for those taking pointe classes. Tap Beige shoes for all levels. Modern Black bodysuit, black jazz pants or shorts, bare feet Boys (all levels) White t-shirt, black pants or tights, black ballet, jazz and tap shoes Adults Comfortable attire, correct shoes for the discipline taken (see level 3 & up for appropriate shoes) Please note: No cell phones in class Those in combination classes are not required to change tights, although the listed colour of tights will be required for the recital Girls hair in a bun, off neck and face for all classes NO food, gum, jewellery, cell phones or cameras permitted in class, water bottles only please Ballet shoes must be proper leather ballet shoes, NO gymnastics shoes please Exams Although not compulsory, they prove to be an invaluable tool for students, parents and teachers to measure success. Due to the high standard of CDTA (Canadian Dance Teacher s Association) exam students may not be ready to take an exam in each discipline at each level. Exams are taken at the teacher s discretion. Exams in Grade 2 and up require at least 2 classes per week to be eligible. Students enrolling in more than one class in any one discipline are requested to contact a member of the Dartmouth Dance Academy staff before enrolling to ensure correct placement. Recital Children will perform in two recitals: one in November, one in May. Watch for details! 5

Bio: Dr. Dan Séguin is a Full Professor of Psychology and the Chair of the Research Ethics Board at Mount Saint Vincent University. He specializes in family relationships, anxiety and regulation, has more than two dozen academic articles published, has written parenting manuals for the Public Health Agency of Canada, and has presented his work internationally and nationally.
