1 Lane Four Aquatics 2012 L4A Sprint Meet Where Speed Belongs (Open/ Novelty Prelim/Final: 8& Under Timed Final) November 30 December 2, 2012 Bettendorf High School, Bettendorf, Iowa ISI SANCTION: IA Held under the sanction of USA Swimming and Iowa Swimming, Inc. (ISI). RULES: Current USA Swimming and ISI technical and administrative rules will govern this meet. Dates: Friday, Nov 30 Sunday, Dec 2, 2012 Time Schedule: Officials meetings will be held 45 minutes prior to the start of each Competition session. Warm- ups Competition Session I (Timed Final) 9 & Over & 8 & under (Fri): 5:00pm 6:05pm Session II (Prelims) 9 & Over (Sat): 7:30am 8:35am Session III (Timed Final) 8 & Under (Sat): 1:00pm 2:05pm Session IV (Finals) 9 & Over (Sat): 4:30pm 5:35pm Session V (Prelims) 9 & Over (Sun): 7:30am 8:35am Session VI (Finals) 9 & Over (Sun): 2:00pm 3:05pm The Meet Director may decide to split the warm- ups depending on the numbers of swimmers. All clubs will be notified by Monday, Nov 26 th, by 5:00 CST PM, if sessions are split. Lane Four Aquatics will warm up one hour prior to Session I, III & VI general warm- ups. Entering clubs or individuals must provide an address included with the entry in order to receive any communications. Site: Bettendorf High School, th Street, (see attached map) Indoor, 25 yard, 6 lanes. Water Depth: Starting End, 60 ; Turning End, 48. International Timing System with touch pads and printout. Secondary back up with one- button system, manual/electronic with two watches on each lane and a 3 rd watch on first place swimmer. Tone start. Hy- Tek Meet Manger Software. Diving well will be available for warm- ups & cool downs, during the meet. The competition course has been certified in accordance with C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA swimming. Coaches: Only currently registered USA Swimming coach members will be permitted on deck in designated areas. Each coach must sign the Coaches Meet Sign- In (APP- 29) and present a current USA Swimming coach membership card to verify that all certifications are current and on file. Coaches shall wear their coach membership cards so that they are clearly visible to swimmers and meet personnel at all times.

2 Warm-ups: The ISI mandatory warm- up procedure will be followed in accordance with Section J.XI of the ISI Code Book. All swimmers are to carefully enter the pool using feet first, three point entry. The pool will be cleared 10 minutes prior to competition. All swimmers must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm- up, competition, and warm- down. Any swimmer without a coach shall report to the Meet Referee prior to his or her warm- up. The Meet Referee will assist the swimmer in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the swimmer s responsibility to ensure such arrangements are made prior to the start of the meet. Racing Start Certification: All swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member- coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Entry Requirements: I. Swimmers must be currently registered as athlete members of USA Swimming in order to compete. II. Swimmers must enter in the age group events corresponding to each swimmer s age on the first day of the meet. (November 30, 2012) III. Swimmers entered exclusively in timed final events may enter no more than four (4) individual events per day. All other swimmers may enter no more than three (3) individual events per day. IV. Seed times must be submitted for a 25yd course. A swimmer's (or relay's) seedtime can be no faster than the best time the swimmer (or relay) has achieved in an event swum in the same length pool as this meet. Converted times are not allowed. Entry Limits: The USA SWIMMING four hour rule F (USA Swimming Rules and Regulations) is as follows: With the exception of championship meets the program in all other age group competition shall be planned to allow the events for swimmers 12 years and younger to be completed in four (4) hours or less for a timed finals session or in a total of eight (8) hours or less per day for a preliminaries and finals meet. Entry Fees: I. Individual events Timed Final Events are $3.50 Prelim/Final Events are 5.00 II. ISI Fee is $3.00 III. Relay events are $10.00 IV. Handwritten entries (for teams entering more than five swimmers): $2.00 per swimmer. Entry Forms: Electronic entries must be submitted in a format compatible with HY- TEK Meet Manager software. Handwritten entries must be submitted on the ISI Meet Entry Form (APP- 7). Submit entries along with the appropriate ISI Financial Sheet (APP- 8.x). If submitting electronic entries, also send a hardcopy of the entries with the entry fees and financial sheet. Payment shall be by check made payable to LANE FOUR AQUATICS. All entry fees, including splash fee, can be combined on one check. The host club reserves the right to require payment by money order or cashier s check. Entry fees are non- refundable; splash fees will be refunded only if the entire meet is cancelled.

3 Entries Dates & Deadlines: I. Entries will be accepted only from ISI teams on Monday Oct 8, 10:00AM II. All other entries will be accepted beginning on Monday Oct 15, 10:00AM III. Entries will be confirmed via a return receipt, within 48 hours. IV. Hand written entries must be received no later 12:00PM, on Saturday, November 24, Financial sheet and fees must accompany hand written entries. V. Electronic entries must be received no later 12:00PM, on Saturday, November 24, With hard copy, financial sheet and fees due by Wednesday, November 28, If fees are not received, the entries will be scratched. VI. Entries will be accepted in the order received, on a first entered basis, until the maximum time line is reached. Entries received after the meet closes, will be returned. VII. Phone & Fax entries cannot be accepted Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted provided the meet has not exceeded the splash number. If the meet has exceeded the maximum splash number, late entries will be accepted in available lane space only, without additional heats being added. Late entries will be accepted until ½ hour prior to the start of each session. The late entry fee will be $7.00 (Timed Final) & $10.00 (Final) per individual events & $20.00 per relay, in addition to the ISI swimmer surcharge.. Athletes not already in the meet will be required to show proof of membership when late entering. Please call the entry chair (Demian Werner) to find out if late entries can be accepted. Adapted Competitive Swimmers: Swimmers with disabilities are encouraged to compete. The Information Form for Adapted Competitive Swimmers (APP- 21) indicating limitations and requested modifications should be completed and attached to the meet entries. The Meet Referee will determine modifications. The swimmer (or swimmer s coach) is responsible for providing any equipment or assistants required. See Article 105 of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations. 4 Meet Committee: A meet committee comprised of the Meet Referee, Meet Director, Coach Representative, Athlete Representative and one (1) Certified Official acting at large will be established to receive and act upon any administrative protest filed at the meet. The committee will not act upon judgment decisions as those are under the jurisdiction of the meet Referee. This committee shall act as a review section if there is a need for an emergency meeting Meet Operation: I. All events Events will be pre- seeded. Positive check- in is not required. II. 8 & Under events (Sessions I and III) All 8 & Under events are timed finals. Swimmers shall report to the Clerk of Course when called. Flyover starts will be used. III. 9 & Over timed finals (Sessions I, II, and V) The 200 IM (Session I) and all relays (Sessions II and V) are timed finals. Swimmers shall report directly to the starting blocks. Flyover starts will be used. If names for relay events are included in entries, those names will be on the relay cards at the meet. IV. 9 & Over prelims (Sessions II and V) All individual events except IM will be swum in prelim/finals format. Swimmers shall report directly to the starting blocks. Flyover starts will be used. V. 9 & Over finals (Sessions IV and VI) For each stoke there will be five heats of finals: a consolation heat for each age group followed by a single championship heat. Championship heat: six (6) fastest swimmers from prelims, regardless of age. Consolation heats: remaining six (6) fastest swimmers from each age group. VI. During the Finals Session, A Championship heat will be completed consisting of the fastest six swimmers from prelims, regardless of age. A Consolation heat will be conducted for the next six fastest 9-10 swimmers who didn t qualify for the Championship heat. A Consolation heat will be conducted for the next six fastest swimmers who didn t qualify for the Championship heat. A Consolation heat will be conducted for the next six fastest swimmers who didn t qualify for the Championship heat. A Consolation heat will be conducted for the next six fastest 15 & over swimmers who didn t qualify for the Championship heat. The order of the heats will be: Consolation 9-10 heat, Consolation heat, Consolation heat, Consolation 15 & Over heat, & Championship heat.

Awards: Individual places: Relays: Individual High Point: Team High Point: Championship Heat 1 st 6 th Pins with Championship Patch Consolation Heat 1 st 3 rd Pins 1 st - 3 rd Pins Trophy for Top Girl & Boy in each age division. Points will be tallied based on the swimmers age, regardless of the event classification swam. Swimmers must be 15 years old to be eligible for the senior division trophy. Trophy & TRX Pro Kit for the highest combined team score. Home team is not eligible Scratches: The ISI scratch rule is in effect. See Section J.XII of the ISI Code Book. USA Registration: USA Swimming athlete registrations submitted at the meet require a $5 fee payable to the host club in addition to the registration fees payable to ISI. Club registrations and non- athlete registrations will not be accepted. Image Authorization: All participants agree to be filmed and photographed by the official photographer(s) and network(s) of Iowa Swimming & Lane Four Aquatics and allow event organizers the right to use names, pictures, likenesses, and biographical information before, during or after the period of participation in Iowa Swimming competitions to promote such competitions. All participants agree not to use medals or photos, or portraits or films with the medals, which are received for performances in this competition, for the purpose of trade or financial gain. Venue Restrictions: Bettendorf High School is a smoke- free facility. NO SMOKING ALLOWED. Use of audio or visual recording devices including cell phone, is not permitted in the changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Seating: Spectators are allowed to sit in the balcony seating, but are not allowed to sit in the pool deck area as it is reserved for athletes and coaches. Seating is limited in the balcony, we ask parents and family to stage in the gym and rotate in and out to allow others the ability to watch their athletes. Spectators are asked not bring coolers, food and large bags or blankets into the bleacher seating.

6 Other Information: Concessions: There will be concessions available, provided by Lane Four Aquatics Booster Club. Vendor: Splash Multisport will be at the pool during the meet. Programs: I. Will be sold at the Meet for $8.00, which includes (Finals). Sign- up for final results will be available at the pool office II. III. Programs. Each team will receive a copy of the program. Results. Electronic results will be provided to all ISI teams and any non- ISI team participating in the meet. Final Results will be posted on the ISI website. A hardcopy of the final results may be requested on the ISI Financial Sheet for an additional $5.00.
