HAVE A SPLASH PARTY AT THE POOL! Available 7 days a week from June 2 to August 19 between the hours of 1:00 PM & 7:00 PM booked at least 7 days in advance. (No parties available Aug 15,16 & 17). Make your reservations now at either Recreation Department administration offices. No reservations will be taken at the pool. SPLASH PARTIES INCLUDE: Admission to pool for 12 guests (including those not swimming). 1 1/2 hours seating in the blue party pavilion (near the T pool). Party host to assist with food during the 1st hour of party rental. Food Choice: A slice of pizza or a hotdog & chips per guest (may be a combination of pizza/hotdog option for total order). Refillable souvenir water bottles filled with pop for you and your guests.* Additional pizza may be purchased directly from concession stand upon arrival to pool. * Refillable day of the party only. For information and availability, call or Please note: Daily Admission Fees Apply 53 THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY FOR SPLASH PARTIES Party must be booked 7 days in advance. A 3 day notice must be given to reschedule or cancel, or 1/2 of the fee will be forfeited. Centennial Park Aquatic Center staff will call 3 days in advance for final head count prior to your party. You are responsible for final count fees, even if count decreases. Additional guests will need to be paid for at time of arrival. Cakes, outside food, and beverages are permitted. No glass, knives or alcohol are allowed. Decorations (balloons, centerpieces, etc.) are permitted. Crepe paper and confetti are not permitted. Splash Party participants may enter the pool before the scheduled start of the party; however, the pool s party host & Splash Party pavilion will not be available until the scheduled start time. The parent party host must meet/admit party guests that arrive prior to scheduled party time at the pool s entrance gate. In-water adult supervision (age 18+) is required for all nonswimmers attending the Splash Party. PLEASE NOTE: The pool does not have an area to store party supplies for groups that arrive prior to the scheduled party start time. If park closes for inclement weather, the party will be rescheduled at no additional charge. If the party has started, rain checks for admission will be issued to your guests for re-entry into the pool on another date. If food package has not been served, the party can be rescheduled at no additional charge. If Centennial Park Aquatic Center is open to the public, the party will take place as scheduled. 2 CENTENNIAL PARK AQUATIC CENTER MEMBERSHIPS The pool will open for its 27th season on May 26, 2018 and will close on September 3, Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult 18 years or older. Come out and enjoy all our facility features including: Zero-Depth pool with child play structure, Activity Pool with 25 yard lap lanes, a Lazy River surrounding a 328-foot tube slide and 200-foot body fl ume slide, a platform jump, and several speed and drop slides. For a complete list of pool rules, please contact the Recreation Department or visit our website: OrlandPark.org. For your convenience, the Recreation Department is accepting pool membership registrations during normal office hours at either Recreation Department Office. Members who will be three years old by May 1, 2018 will receive an individual picture I.D. card. Children two years of age and under are admitted free, therefore need not be present at registration. If a pass is damaged please submit damaged pass to receive a free replacement. Passes must be retained from year to year. Once your membership is renewed, your passes will be activated automatically no need to come in! All residents must present two (2) forms of identification at time of registration to prove residency. Only the following are considered acceptable forms of proof: valid driver s license, current phone bill, electric bill, water bill, gas bill. Billing address must be within the corporate boundaries of the Village of Orland Park. If residency is in question, further proof may be required. Anyone unable to supply proof of residency will be charged the non-resident rate. Purchase must be made by an adult member of the RESIDENT FAMILY membership and childcare provider must be present. The Childcare Provider Pass is only valid when performing childcare services. GUEST PASSES* Guest passes are available for purchase by CPAC members and Orland Park residents (Resident ID required). The minimum purchase is 10 visits for $70. The resident or member must accompany the guest(s) at admission. 4 SWIM LESSON INFORMATION REGISTRATION DEADLINES: FOR WEEKDAY CLASSES the Wednesday before the start of each session. FOR SATURDAY CLASSES June 6 56 Classes will only be cancelled when the air temperature is below 68 degrees (water is heated to 81 degrees) or in the event of inclement weather. The decision to cancel classes will be made as early as possible. Cancelled classes will be made up as needed on the Thursday and/or Friday of that same session, or as arranged by staff. Private lesson cancellations will be made-up as arranged by the Private Lesson Instructor. Make-ups are only provided for dates cancelled by CPAC staff. No make-ups will be offered for classes or private lessons not attended by the participant. One week notice is required for refunding out of swim lessons. Please Note: An account credit, or a one day guest pass to Centennial Park Aquatic Center will be issued if a makeup date(s) is cancelled due to the weather. No refunds will be issued. Becoming a proficient swimmer is an important step to ensure your child s safety in/around water. CPAC swim lessons have been adapted by the Learn-To-Swim staff from leading swim instruction institutions to ensure progression in your child s swim skills. Parents with a CPAC or Red Cross Swim Card should use the last level achieved by the student as a part of the registration process. Those without a swim card, should indicate pretest as the child s ability status. Student to instructor ratio is a maximum of 4:1 for 3 & 4 year olds and 7:1 for 5-15 year olds. Consistent attendance is necessary for a child to make progress in his/her swim ability. Parents are welcome to stay pool side to observe classes throughout the swim session. 6 58 COMMUNITY LIFEGUARDING Students must attend all sessions and successfully pass both land and water skills tests to receive a StarGuard Lifeguard certification. Class fee includes a non-refundable textbook with access to interactive multimedia web resource and quiz. Participants must meet all prerequisites: 15 years of age by course date, swim 200 yards using front crawl or breaststroke without resting, feet-first surface dive, retrieve a 10 lb. brick and bring it to the surface, and tread water without using arms for two minutes. Pre-requisite Skills will be tested on the first day. Upon completion of this course, participants 16 & older may apply to work at Centennial Pool. Make-up dates: June 6, 7 & 8. Participants are welcome to shadow a CPAC lifeguard on the pool deck from 12:00 PM 1:00 PM on Thursday following class. Jr. Guards should bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a bag lunch. Enrollment includes a Jr. Guard T-shirt and lifeguard whistle. Students must be able to safely swim unassisted in 12 deep water. Returning Jr. Lifeguards should enroll in the age group class. Bring your camera, it s sure to be a jolly fun day! RIVER WALK/LAP SWIM The facility will be open during the hours listed for selfdirected exercise. Lap lanes will be open in the zero depth pool.
