As a courtesy, GL Homes is accepting homeowner mail at the sales office. As you can imagine, this is no easy task and takes hours to sort the mail to each homeowner. If you prefer, you are welcome to secure a post office box at the Delray Beach Post Office down the street. Small boxes run $28 every three months and larger boxes run $250 every 3 months. We have already ordered temporary mail boxes that will be installed in the parking lot next to the Belvedere model. Once the boxes are installed, we will notify you so you can arrange to pick up the key to your assigned mailbox. At that time, your mail will no longer be delivered to the sales office. Once construction is substantially complete, we are working to have the USPS establish curbside delivery to the individual homes. Recently, the USPS changed their policy with regard to curbside delivery. GL Homes is in talks with the Post Office with regard to this policy change. Welcome to the neighborhood To Our Bridges Homeowners We hope you re as excited as we are about the unveiling of our new community newsletter Connections at The Bridges. This newsletter is just one of the ways you can stay informed about what is going on in the community. It will feature event information, construction updates, news, photos and more. I m happy to report that The Bridges is more than 75% sold as of the end of October! There are about 160 families living here at the moment, and 15 to 20 new families are moving in each month. Every homeowner at The Bridges is embarking on a new chapter, and I hope you ll take the time to welcome each other to the neighborhood. Getting to know your neighbors just got a lot easier with the launch of our tennis and social programs. Tennis lessons and clinics are available for all ages and skill levels, and our array of social events offer something for the entire family. Please refer to the calendar in this newsletter for the upcoming schedule. Now that the tennis facility is complete, construction on the main clubhouse building has begun. Be sure to check out the GL Homes website (glhomes.com) for the latest updates and aerial photos. Also, don t forget to join us for the annual meeting on Wednesday, November 6 at 6 p.m. at Olympic Heights High School on Lyons Road in Boca Raton. Darlene Goss Social Director Bridges Clubs & Events Wine Glass Painting Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m. It s time for painting and cocktails! Join us for a private party at the Art-Sea-Living studio in Boynton Beach. For $25, you will be given two wine glasses to paint however you d like, or you can choose to follow techniques and tricks demonstrated by the instructor. Snacks will be provided, but drinks are BYOB! Guests are welcome. A minimum of 10 RSVPs are required please sign up by October 29 in the sales office with a check payable to The Bridges HOA. Book Club Kick-Off Meeting Thursday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. at The Grind Café Join us for the launching of our book club at The Bridges. This club will be chaired by resident Rhoda Slifka, and hosted in the Delray Marketplace at The Grind Café. For our first meeting, please come with three book titles that interest you, and the group will decide what to read first! Reservations are required. Mah Jongg Meet Up Monday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. We are pleased to offer our first Mah Jongg Meet- Up for The Bridges residents in the Bassano model. 4 Catching Fire Movie Premiere Wednesday, November 20 at 6 p.m. at Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton Be the first to see Catching Fire, the new Hunger Games movie, two days before it premieres to the general public! We ve reserved an entire theater for our homeowners and their guests. Join us at 6 p.m. for a private reception where you ll collect your popcorn and drink and then move into our private theater. The cost is $18 per person which includes a bag of popcorn, drink and the movie. Residents may bring up to 2 guests. Reservations are required. Please drop a check, made payable to The Bridges HOA, at the sales center to reserve your spot. Please leave the names of all attendees for our VIP guest list. Seating is limited, so reserve today! Tennis Turkey Tournament Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 Homeowners and guests are invited to compete in our Inaugural Turkey Tournament. The cost is $20 per person. Divisions include singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Players will be grouped by level. If you re feeling extra competitive, sign up for an additional division for just $10 more. On Saturday, early rounds for all divisions will take place. Final rounds and consolation draws begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Prizes, gift certificates and trophies will be awarded and refreshments will be served. Reservations are required by November 18 and space is limited, so call or thebridgestennis@gmail.com. You re Invited Winter Wonderland Holiday Social Keep your eyes peeled for information on our holiday social. The information will be distributed via the weekly Friday e-blast, on the HOA website and at the sales center. Reservations are required. Poker Night Monday, December 16 at 7 p.m. Go all-in with us during our first poker night! One of our residents has generously offered to host this event in his new Bridges home. Tennis Holiday Break Programming December 16 January 5 We re offering a slightly modified schedule of tennis programs during winter break, including holiday camps for adults and juniors! The adult holiday camp will focus on the 4 basic fundamentals of tennis: technique, strategy, mental toughness and footwork. 5 Kids Winter Break FUN Let s Get Wild! Thursday, December 26 from Noon 2 p.m. at the Tennis Center Join us for Book n Cookin! with Miss Robyne. She ll get everybody up and having fun with games and then tell a story about wild animals. After that, the kids will be taught how to decorate a cupcake to look like a zebra. When they are done, they can eat their masterpiece. Each child will take home the recipe and a story lesson handout. Following Book n Cookin!, a trainer from Wild Animal World will bring a variety of different animals for the kids to learn about and interact with. Some animals in the show are a lemur, kinkajou, anteater, porcupine, alligator, python, scorpion and giant toad. Parents are welcome and should bring their cameras! The cost is $5 per child and reservations are required. Please drop your payment, made payable to The Bridges HOA, at the sales center. DJ Dance Party & Game Show Friday, December 27 from 1-3 p.m. at the Tennis Center Kids of all ages will enjoy this party and game show. The dancing DJ and game master will get everyone boogeying and having fun. After the dance party, kids will be split into teams to play Face Off a fast paced, exciting high tech game show with lights, digital scoring and fast lockout buttons. During the entire event, kids can play on a 9-hole mini golf course or get a custom balloon creation from a strolling balloon artist. The cost is $5 per child and reservations are required. 6 Adrian Pelmus Tennis Director on the Courts OOur tennis program is off to a great start! The staff and I have been very busy supplying programs, lessons and clinics to not only help you improve your tennis skills, but to provide you the opportunity to get to know your neighbors. Please know that people of all ages and skill levels are welcome to come out to the courts and try a lesson or hit a few balls. Junior programs and lessons are taught by Mike and Dave Pfister, who are both certified PTR professionals in adult and junior development. Also, I encourage you to try out our high-tech ball machine, buy some gear in our Pro Shop, or get your racquet strung by Bryan Long, professional Master Stringer with years of experience on the ATP and WTA Tours. Reservations are required for social events and all other tennis programs, so please call the Pro Shop at or thebridgestennis@gmail.com. Courts must also be reserved for play via the Chelsea system. Bridges TENNIS Adult Tennis Programming Men s Monday Night Football Round Robin Every Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. Join us for an evening of pizza, beer, football and of course tennis. The cost is $10. This recurring event is every Monday throughout the football season. Call the Pro Shop today to sign up at Get Fit Tennis Get fit, have fun and feel good in this high energy, non-stop workout to great music. Each session will help you improve your tennis game and develop proper footwork. Get Fit Tennis is offered on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. All levels are welcome. Wine & Cheese Round Robin Typically, these events are every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. However, due to the holidays, the wine & cheese round robins will be taking place on Wednesdays, November 13 and December 4 & 18. Join the pros for a round robin with great tennis and socialization. Following the round robin, participants will enjoy wine and cheese. This event is $10 per person. Reservations for all programs are required and can be made by calling the Pro Shop at or ing thebridgestennis@gmail.com. Shot of the Week Clinic Tennis is all about good, solid fundamentals. This clinic will highlight a different tennis stroke each week such as improving your overhead smash, perfecting your two-handed backhand or tweaking your forehand slice. Work on proper tennis techniques, so you can have success on the court. wwthis clinic is every Thursday at 9 a.m. All levels are welcome.

7 $5 Round Robin Mixer Join us every Saturday from 8:30 10 a.m. for this round robin and mixer. Drinks and balls are included. RSVP by Friday at noon by calling or Adult Beginners/ Intermediate Clinic This clinic emphasizes learning the correct fundamentals of all the strokes as well as understanding the rules of both the singles and doubles games. This clinic is every Saturday at 10 a.m. Palm Tennis Mixed Doubles League The Bridges first co-ed tennis team plays every Sunday at 11 a.m. Practices for the group are every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Come out and cheer them on! Junior Tennis Programming Tournament Elite The goal of this program is for kids of all ages to become USTA tournament ready. Advanced players will work on correct techniques and strategies for tournament play. In order to achieve success, the program focuses on physical and mental conditioning both key components in today s junior tennis game. This program is offered every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 6 p.m. Players must be evaluated to participate in the program. Junior Circuit Kids 11 & up will enjoy learning the basic fundamentals of tennis while competing in a wide variety of fun and challenging games. Participants will learn court etiquette and the rules of the game. Junior Circuit is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 6 p.m. Beginner and intermediate players are welcome. Winner s Circle This program is designed to introduce the game of tennis in a fun, challenging and educational way. The staff will help children foster a love and enthusiasm for tennis. The hour includes warm up, skills development, game development and an obstacle course/ cool down. This program is offered every Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for kids 10 & under and from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for all juniors over 10. Tennis Specials Buy 5 Lessons, get the 6th free! 8 Pilates of Boca Partnership While we anxiously await the completion of the clubhouse, we re partnering with Pilates of Boca to provide an array of fitness classes at their studio for adults and children. All Bridges residents can expect a 20%* discount on classes and private training! Bridges residents receive: 20% off any regularly priced monthly unlimited program 20% off any regularly priced class 20% off any regularly priced private class Class schedules are available at *The 20% discount does not apply to discounted class packages. Your discount will be honored at both the Pilates of Boca East and West locations. Booking Court Time Reserving a tennis court at The Bridges may be done 24/7 through the online court reservation system. The online system is easy to use and allows you to book, edit, cancel or review your court time reservations at your convenience. To utilize the online reservation system, follow these simple guidelines: 1. Open the Chelsea Reservation System at the following link You will be prompted to enter your member number and password. All members have been assigned numbers which they can receive at the Pro Shop. The default password for all accounts is You will be prompted to update your member profile and password when you log in for the first time. 3. When logged into the system, you will be able to request the date and time you wish to play by going to the REQUEST tab on the main navigation bar. Complete the Court Time Info fields and then click the Player Info tab. On the Player Info tab, you will be prompted to enter the member numbers of the residents you will be playing with. The Pro Shop has a list of member numbers for your reference. If you are playing with a guest, please select Guest in the appropriate fields. When you have completed this form, click submit and you will be given a confirmation number for your request. Three days prior to play, an will be sent to all members with a valid address on file indicating the time you have been scheduled to play. Digital signs at the Pro Shop will display the court times for each member in last name order for the day of play. For last minute requests (within 72 hours of play), reservations may be booked through the BOOKING tab. These reservations are made on a first come/first served basis.
