2 G MCORNER Hello everyone, fall is here and we are in our last stretch of the year with the seasonal holidays just around the corner. We ended our summer with an End of Summer dance party on Court 11 and then watched a lot of spectacular tennis matches as players came into the club from all over the world to compete in the Men's Pro Futures Tennis Tournament. LNRC / TCMB continues to stay busy with many activities for you to participate in, meet other members, and stay fit. We encourage you to visit our website and Front Desk to get more information about how to get involved. We are continuing to make progress on our Club renovations and upgrades. This summer, we resurfaced tennis courts 9-12, upgraded the fitness equipment and personal training services at both locations, contracted with Family Heating and Air Conditioning to service and install A/C at all Spearman Clubs, hired additional housekeeping at both locations, and are in the process of completing the TCMB outside lounge and patio improvements. We appreciate all your patience and support as we make all the improvements to the clubs. The Pro Futures were in town at LNRC and provided the members with some jaw dropping matches. The doubles was held on Friday this year in the after lunch affair. It was well attended and the tennis was awesome. A young team from Japan and Mexico, 17 and 18 collectively, won the event. I was glad to see how they moved on the court and were so athletic. I want to thank Anne, Felicia, Tracy, Melissa, and Sandy for all the help they gave for the event. Also a big thanks to Stephanie, Monique and Luis for doing such a great job at the bar and grill. Their work goes unnoticed and I want to personally give them a shout out for helping to make this event the success it was. I hope all of you singles players got to watch the magic of these young players and will be signing up for the club championships. The singles is a nice event for meeting some new players and to compete at your level. Lastly, I want to thank all the members for making the pro futures players feel at home. We had several members that took care of these guys for the week and all I hear is how lucky they were to be at such nice homes and to be taken care of like they were. It just shows you how nice our members are, and it s such a great way to give back to the game of tennis. I hope you will enjoy the fall weather, as I for one am ready for the cooler weather. ONE MAN S OPINION I opened my first club in 1972 during the tennis boom, while still employed full-time in the Health Care industry. One of our goals when we opened the first club and remains a MAJOR goal for us is to operate a CLUB and not just a place to play tennis with people you already know. One way we strive to achieve this goal is to offer recommendations to members on major purchases selections of doctors, dentists, tax preparers, all kinds of services. We try to provide ADVICE ON THE PEOPLE OR SERVICES THAT WILL BEST FIT YOUR NEEDS. We keep files and records that we hope will help you make the right decision when you select a car dealer, stock broker, various kinds of restaurants or any service you might require. I will admit that I try to recommend members for service, as I feel a member will go out of their way to help a fellow member.
