1 JUNE 2016 PATRONAGE & FOOTFALL BESPOKE REPORT Survey Date 10th and 11th June 2016 Weather: Friday: Bright and mild Saturday: Warm and sunny PMRS Limited The Glover Centre, 23 Bury Mead Road, Hitchin, Herts SG5 1RP. Tel: ~
2 - METHODOLOGY AND NOTES Patronage counts Patronage surveys were undertaken at the 12 listed retail units, on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th, June 2016, between the hours of 10.00am 5.00pm. (see survey location list) At each unit, sample counts of 20-minutes duration, were taken, within each hour. All patrons, of any age, entering and exiting each unit, were recorded separately. Extrapolated data tables, represent each sample count, multiplied by a factor of 3, to determine hourly numbers and to allow for the fact that, sample counts of 20-minutes, out of a possible 60 minutes, were taken. Patronage totals are the average of those entering and exiting each unit. % rank is the percentage patronage, benchmarked against the busiest unit, The Supermarket. Estimated Weekly Patronage The numbers given for the whole week, are the sums of those given for Friday and Saturday, grossed up by a factor of to allow for the days Monday through to Thursday, which were not enumerated. This factor is an average based upon extensive previous research, conducted throughout the UK, during the week (Monday -Saturday). Footfall Surveys Pedestrian footfall surveys were conducted at each retail unit. At each location, sample counts of 20-minutes duration, were taken, within each hour. All pedestrians who passed the unit, in either direction, were recorded. Extrapolated data tables, represent each sample count, multiplied by a factor of 3, to determine hourly numbers and to allow for the fact that, sample counts of 20-minutes, out of a possible 60 minutes, were taken.
