3 PRESIDENTS...Jim Aspaas & Mary Martin Presidents report Oct 2017 We have good news to report. Our committee who has been generating ideas of how to save our club, feels extremely hopeful that it will happen. Plan on talking up our Rustlers club to dancers in other clubs to let them know that we are moving forward and plan to offer our dances into the future. We have fantastic Callers booked through 2020 and have not cancelled their contracts. We do need your help, and cannot pull this club saving alone. We will need a few board positions that are a necessity to keep the club running. They include President(s), Treasurer(s), Secretary, Website/Publicity and Communications. These positions can be easily shared too. Treasa and Bill have their home in escrow and plan to be moving by Nov. 1 st, so we are asking if there is someone willing to take the Treasurer s position. Treasa will train someone, but as they pack, her time will be limited. Maybe one or more of you who are unable to dance anymore would consider sitting to greet guests and take money at the dances, but not necessarily take on all of the Treasury responsibilities. We will need everyone to do their part, a little commitment or a larger commitment, to keep the club afloat. Otherwise, it is futile to continue. The same few club members cannot continue to do everything all of the time. Our hope is that we will streamline only the necessary responsibilities and put on the back burner everything that isn t essential to keeping the monthly dances up and running. That will mean that there will not be many activities for a while, but it will mean that we plan to have fun together and offer our fantastic dances. Please contact us with any of your thoughts and ideas. We are trying to think out of the box and no ideas are wrong. We cannot continue to function the way it s always been, because it isn t working. 4 OCTOBER BOARD MEETING October 8th, Sunday at 6 pm the Board will meet. All are invited to attend. We thank John & Beryl Gardner, Lynda Einstein and Carol & Gene Hutchings for attending the Sept. meeting which discussed the Rustlers future. Because Oct. 8th is the Presidents Ball, sponsored by A Square D and held in Hawthorne, the Board will meet afterwards at Jim & Mary s home, Hague Ln. Huntington Beach, at 6 pm. Please RSVP 714/ or martnaspaas@yahoo.com if you will attend. Jim and Mary will be providing the chili and all others will be invited to bring a side dish. We postponed the vote of the future of the club at the Sept. meeting until this October meeting in order to see if we can keep it going. We encourage all interested members to attend......janie Moore CHUCK WAGON: Hi Rustlers, First of all, we want to thank everyone by helping out from time to time on bringing such great snacks to our dance. Rick and I really appreciate it as do all the dancers that attend our dance. The Board will be providing refreshments for the October dance. They do not get reimbursed from the club but when they bring the treats every other month, they do it out of the good of their hearts. We thank them!
