As the 2013 season is coming to an end, I look back at the experiences that the Wisconsin Appaloosa Horse Club was able to have. Our club gained new members that are excited about the things that we are trying to accomplish and they were willing to lend a helping hand at our club s events. The city of Marshfield, WI was extremely supportive of our club this year, by donating coupons, money and most of all making our members feel welcome as we held our shows at their fairgrounds. It was very nice to see how people can come together to help make a change for the club. Our youth team members that had the opportunity to show in Fort Worth, TX at the Youth Worlds got to experience the joy of working together to support their state club. These are just some examples that enable us to help grow support amongst our members and support for our club. Our end of the year celebration party will be just around the corner and I invite you all to attend. We decided to call our banquet something else, because really it is a time to celebrate friendships, the awards that our members have earned, and just have a plain old good time. At this time we also elect new board members, talk about new ideas for the club and make decisions for the following year. If there is something you want the club to try or something you didn t feel benefited the club, this is your time as a member to make a difference! I would like to thank everyone who helped with the club this year. 2 WApHC Mission Statement * To promote and stimulate interest in the Appaloosa horse breed on a regional basis. * To increase Appaloosa popularity through shows, demonstrations, and publicity. * To provide a social environment for the club members whose common interest is the Appaloosa Horse. WApHC Youth Group News Please submit photos and information to Jean Quigley for the 2013 scrapbook. She is looking for fun items, show pictures, and photos from the various county fairs, and later send photos of those members who show at the State 4-H show this year. Also, we are looking for ideas for a fall fund raiser and will be doing a pizza fund raiser around February. 4 WApHC Board Meeting Minutes Teleconference July 14, 2013 Attendees: Kim Klinkner, Nick Beil, Stephanie Jacobson, Tina Mahloch, Jess Fale, Sandy Truntz, Toni Pflieger Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM. Treasurer s Report: Nick will be ing the report tonight. August Show: Hi Point Awards: o Nick makes motion for 4 show sheets for $150 for hi points. 2 nd made by Toni. All in favor. o Discussion was had as to if we were still making it a requirement that an exhibitor must enter a halter class in order to qualify for hi point awards. This is something that we want to continue to do for this show. However we are going to make Hunter In Hand be a class that qualifies you for this halter category since the national club considers this a halter class. Show Helpers: o Sherri Voltz offered to help in the office for the August show. Nick wants us to pay for hotel expense. Tina is talking to pay hotel, gas and food expenses. Nick makes motion to pay for hotel for Friday and Saturday, lunch Saturday and Sunday and fuel. 2 nd made by Toni. All are in favor. o Richard is bringing the cattle. Tina wants him to supply his help. We need to check and make sure who is going to be helping. o Toni is ring steward for the show. o Announcing will be Glenda for Saturday and possibly Sunday but not sure. Nick will be trying to get Sara Sternburg. Toni mentioned we need to make sure we have chairs out for the judges. We need to make sure there is a gate for trail this time. Misc: Show Secretary, our computer program for the shows, needs to be renewed. o Nick made motion to renew license for the show program which is $ nd made by Toni. All are in favor. September 8 th will be the next teleconference meeting. We will have a quick meeting at the show on Saturday right after showing just to discuss when and where we will be hosting the year end banquet.

5 WApHC Board Meeting Minutes August 10, 2013 Atendees: Nick Beil, Tina Mahloch, Jess Fale, Toni Pflieger, Stephanie Jacobson Year End Banquet: It was decided to rename the banquet to Celebration as it is not just for handing out awards. We would like more people to attend, even if they did not nominate for year-end awards. Would like to hold it on a Sunday afternoon as several restaurants have Sunday specials we could take advantage of. Decided we would need to hold the celebration before November and not on Packer Sunday. The Packers have a bye on September 29 th, so that is a date we are going to pursue. Discussed the possibilities in Fond du Lac and also in Stevens Point area. Tina is going to call a few places to get prices & availability.
