1 Duchess School Newsletter June 26th, 2015 Message from the Principal Thank you to Andrea Hook who did a tremendous job running Growlies this year. And also to the students who gave up their lunch hours to work in Growlies. You Pass...You Score!!! Movie Experts would like to remind you to bring in your passing report card and receive your choice of either a free rental of any standard stock movie OR a 2 for 1 rental on any New Release. At Domino s Pizza you will receive a personal sized onetopping pizza when you present your report card. All students that participate will have their names automatically entered into a draw for a game system prize pack. Limit 1 redemption per student report card. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Promotion expires August 31/15. Well summer has arrived for all of our little ones. Whether they are walking out into the big, wide world as a new Duchess School Grad or getting ready for grade one. We have had an amazing year here! We are so excited to wrap things up and say farewell to our staff who are travelling, gardening, camping, and some are retiring as well. We will miss Pat Fukuda who has given 44 years of dedicated service to our students. We are grateful to Bette Van Pypen and Marg Grosfield who were so willing to share their complementary talents with our kids. We hope that your retirement will bring many new adventures and you will be able to find ways to share your gifts with new people. We have such an amazing staff to work with from our very newest to our most experienced! Duchess School is excited to welcome Miss Getz who will be teaching Grade 1/2. We are so proud of the work that we are doing and cannot wait to keep striving to do better. We love learning, and that is why we still have not left school. We are so grateful that you trust your little ones with us and we love watching them grow into engaged, ethical, and entrepreneurial citizens in our communities. From all of our staff we hope you and your family will have a wonderful, safe summer holiday! Enjoy every minute of time you have together and we will see you in the fall! Sincerely, Mr. Payne OK Tire Bike Challenge Bassano-Brooks Event Information: Date; Thursday, July 16th Starting Point: Bassano Esso Approx Distance: 50KM Approx depart time: 1:30pm Approx end time: 5:30pm (Estimated ride takes 3-4 hours) Registration information: Bikechallenge2015.ca ext 338 Register for route 7.3 (Calgary to Brooks) Fee is $94.50 Please call Amy or Shaun at or oktirebass@telus.net once you have registered.
