Jiddu Krishnamurti Reminder to all students: During morning drop off time (7AM to 8:30AM) that they need to cross the road on campus at the cross walk ONLY. This is for your safety. Please remind friends and family that no drop offs, pickups, or lunch deliveries are to occur in the rear parking lot. If your parent has to pick you up, drop you off, or make a lunch/supply delivery to the drop off needs to be brought to the front office only!! 3 4. Student Council 5. Drone Club Attention Seniors: Do not forget to remind your parents/guardians about the new date for the Mandatory Senior Parent/Guardian Meeting. The new date is Monday Oct. 23rd at the Richardson Center from 6-8. You also need to make sure you are looking at all of the important dates and information posted on your Senior site, start applying to the scholarships available and stop by room #27 and sign up for the college visits. Please see a Jostens Representative under the dome to place your orders. ART CLUB There will be an art club meeting Tuesday from 2-3:30 and again Wednesday from 2-4 in the art room. We will be creating things to sell for Wolfsonain trip fundraising. WOLFSONIAN/ART DECO/WYNWOOD WALLS field trip If you love art, architecture, or Miami you will not want to miss our trip to the Wolfsonian Museum and a walking tour of the Art Deco district in Miami! The trip has been rescheduled to Tuesday, October 24th. Your money must be in to Ms. Havens by Tuesday, Oct 16th. We only have 40 spaces left so sign up right away! Get the slips from Ms. Burke in room 500. If you need help with the funding: see Ms. Burke about fundraising opportunities through the Art Department.

4 Cultural Event: Mandy Cox, a former Charter Student and former Charter Dance Teacher is in town offering a night of Let Go! Let Go is a dance, music and acting production that Mandy choreographed and wrote during her time as a teacher at IRCHS. The production will be presented this coming Sunday, October 8 at the Vero Beach Theater Guild located at 2020 San Juan Ave, Vero Beach, FL at 2:00 p.m. and/or 7:00 p.m. Student tickets are priced at $15.00 and can be bought at the door. This event MAY be counted as a cultural event. Please support Mandy and IRCHS by attending this event this weekend! Let Go! Let Go is a journey through life s defeats and celebrations. It follows a person s negative self-talk those powerful disapproving voices in our heads and explores the fight within ourselves. It is a journey before your eyes on how to live your life though joy and wisdom. The movement is expressed through contemporary-modern dance and guided by a motivating poem by Portia Nelson. Let Go is a collaborated production with dancers, live musicians and actresses. Cultural Event "Love Your Lagoon" Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6 PM North County Library (Sebastian) Speakers will talk about the past, present and future of our lagoon. 5 Yuda Bands Our 2 weeks of Yuda Band sales will finish on Wednesday October 4th. Please buy any last bands that you would like to get ASAP. Key Club Key Club will meet today in the Chorus room during lunch. We will be doing our first raffle of the year! Come and try your luck and learn more about us. Please let Mrs. Kelly or an officer know ASAP about Saturday Oct 7th events. BROWN BAG CONCERT SERIES IRCHS is proud to present the BROWNBAG CONCERT SERIES each Thursday at 11:30 am in the Dome! Bring your lunch and chill to the best IRCHS talent! Sign up with Mr. Mundy in Room 400 or send an to david.mundy@irchs.org. Slots are open to new and returning 10th through 12th graders. 400 BUILDING Please note that the 400 building is for those students who are taking a class, in a practice room, or have their Homebase in the building. For the sake of others, students should refrain from hanging out in the hallways or congregating in this building. Practice rooms are for VAPA students only and time slots can be reserved with Mr. Heroux, Mr. Miller, or Mr. Mundy. CAMPUS LIFE The Campus Life club meets each Wednesday during lunch in Room 402! At Campus Life you can enjoy your lunch while participating in games, win prizes and have topical discussions with a Christian perspective. See you there!

6 Programming Club: Ever wanted to create your own game, website, or mobile app? You can learn programming languages in order to be able to create amazing projects like these. Whether you are an experienced programmer or never programmed before in your life, the Programmers Club is a great place to work together and create amazing projects. We meet every Friday from 3:00-4:00 in room 9. If you have any questions, please me at ian.orzel@irchsonline.org FSA Prep: Intensive FSA English reading/writing help will be available beginning Wednesday, Oct 11th and running through Wednesday, Nov. 15th. These tutoring sessions are open to all students, but students who didn't pass the FSA last time or passed with only a 3 as a freshman should consider attending. These sessions will begin promptly at 3:15 and will conclude at 4:00 each Wednesday in Mrs. Locuson's room (615). Please see Mrs. Locuson or her at rebecca.locuson@irchs.org with questions. THE GATHERING Come join The Gathering in Mr. Hinton s room (606) during lunch today, Monday Oct. 2nd to play Magic the Gathering with friends old and new. In Magic: The Gathering, you are counted among the elite spell casters of the Multiverse the Planes walkers. Your deck of cards represents your weapons, containing the spells you know and the creatures you can summon to fight for you. All nerds are welcome to play. Even if you don t have cards yet you are welcome to come try it out and see if you d be interested! The club will also potentially include Dungeons and Dragons and/or Yu-Gi-Oh if enough people are interested.

7 Dance Department: Support the Dance Department and get into the Holiday Spirit! We will be selling holiday candles: from classic holiday scents to aroma therapy candles. Entice your senses and try out the various scents in Mrs. Bounds' room. To place an order go to room 52 or send an to Homecoming Week: The days for the week of the wolf are as followed: Monday: Social Switch Day Tuesday: Decades Day Wednesday: Twin day Thursday: Disney day Friday: School Spirit Day / Friday the 13th Please keep an eye out in your for descriptions and rules for the week of the wolf days. PLEASE remember: These days are FUN! Don't ruin them for others by: - Coming to school in clothing that does not adhere to the IRCHS dress code - Wearing a costume on ANY of the days (wearing clothing that resembles a character and could be worn as normal clothes is fine!) - Being rude/ making fun of the way others choose to celebrate the week Homecoming Dance: What is the dress code for homecoming? For girls: dresses should be appropriate, strapless is allowed. The dress does not have to be in "dress code" BUT should be appropriate and cover all areas comfortably. Use your best judgment & come see Ms. Strazzulla if you have specific questions. Skirts/ nice pants are fine, NO JEANS.

8 For guys: No jeans are allowed. Guys should wear nice pants and a nice, button-up shirt. No T-shirts/casual polos. Again, NO JEANS. ALL: You must wear appropriate shoes, no flip flops or sneakers! (use your best judgment, this is flexible depending on the shoe) What if I would like to bring a date from another school? You MUST get the guest form from the front office and have it SIGNED and APPROVED by October 13th (if tickets are not sold out by then). Tickets are first come first serve and you are not allowed to buy a ticket for a guest unless the form has been fully filled out and approved by the other person's school AND Ms. Aversa. If you are wanting to bring a guest from another school, please note that the person can NOT be older than 20 years of age. Where is homecoming? The location will be Intergenerational Recreation Center th St SW, Vero Beach, FL How much is a ticket and where can I buy tickets? Tickets are $15 for a single ticket and $30 for a couple's ticket. They are on sale now in the IRCHS Cashier's office. Tickets are first come-first serve and are expected to sell out by October 10th at the latest. All grades are welcome. Paper tickets will be in this week, so if you already bought a ticket, you will receive a paper ticket this week. What if I would like to run for homecoming court? (Queen, King, Princess, or Prince) If you would like to run for homecoming court, you will need to ask people to nominate you. You can do this by talking to your friends, homebases, and putting up flyers and posters. Voting for the court will take place today, October 2nd through this Thursday, October 5th. This will be via a google form, the form

9 will close at 3pm Thursday. No exceptions. The nominated court will be announced October 9th, and voting for the winners will take place October 9-11th. Here are the rules for running for court. ONLY Seniors can win King or Queen ONLY Juniors can win Princess or Prince If you win Homecoming Princess or Prince as a Junior, you can NOT win homecoming King or Queen as a Senior If you would like to put up flyers, you can do so starting Friday, 9/29. They MUST all be taken down by Monday, October 16th. You MAY NOT send mass s to students/teachers to promote yourself. If you send a mass , you will be disqualified from running. If you are not elected to the homecoming court next week during the nomination round, you must take your flyers down by October 9th. Senior New York Trip: Ms. Strazzulla & Ms. Kafer want to take you to see 2 Broadway shows, The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, & much more! This spring break we will be taking seniors only on the trip of a lifetime! You will fly to NYC, stay in the heart of the city, take the subway, eat delicious food (with breakfast and dinner provided daily) and enjoy the sights, sounds, and overall experience of the city that never sleeps. For more info, see/ Ms. Strazzulla or Ms. Kafer! TP TUBES FOR FREE GREASE TICKETS We are in search of toilette paper tubes for costumes for Grease the Musical. Follow these steps to win Grease tickets: 1. Write you name (Clearly) on the TP tube 2. Drop the TP tubes in the bin outside of the blackbox
