1 2019 Section 3AA Dance Team Championships February 2nd, 2019 Delano High School Delano High School 700 Elm Avenue East Delano, MN Section 3AA Coaches, Delano Schools is excited to host you and your team for the 2019 Section 3AA Dance Team Championships on February 2nd, It will be an eventful day consisting of 14 schools, and 28 routines from our talented section! Attached you will find a schedule of the event, performance order, mark times, and directions to DHS. Registration: Registration will begin at 7:45 am. Buses may drop off teams at DOOR #15 in the back of the building, where they will register. A volunteer will escort teams to your dressing room and give you a tour of the facilities. If needed, you may sign up for a costume check at registration. Please bring your 2019 MSHSL Official Squad list for each dance (attached in ) to the registration table. Buses: Buses will be greeted upon arrival in the back of the building. After dancer drop off, buses will be directed to park at the Intermediate School bus lot which is just north of the High School building. At the conclusion of the event, buses can pick up teams at the MAIN entrance to the High School building in the pick up lane. Marking Times: Marking will begin at 8:30 am and were established based on proximity to Delano. All marking will take place on the actual performance floor. Each team will receive 10 minutes for marking. Fulton Productions will be our sound technician for the day. All music should have been previously submitted via the Dropbox Link. Coaches Meeting: The coaches meeting will take place in the Staff Lounge at 11:00 am. Parade of Teams/National Anthem: Teams will line up in alphabetical order at 11:30am to parade in for the National Anthem. Teams will line up on the synthetic courts behind the orange curtain. The National Anthem will be performed at approximately 11:40am prior to the start of the competition.

2 Competition: The jazz competition will begin at 12:00pm, and the high kick competition will begin at 2:15pm. Seven (7) JAM-certified judges, two (2) kick counter/timers, and two (2) tabulators have been secured for this event. The order of performance was done by random draw in each division by the Delano Athletic Director and Meet Assistant, Heidi O Donnell. Teams are guaranteed forty-five minutes (45) between each dance category for dancer preparation. The top THREE scoring teams in Jazz and the top THREE scoring teams in High Kick will receive plaques, medals and will advance to the MSHSL State Dance Team Tournament. Awards: Teams will line up on the synthetic courts behind the orange curtain. Signs will be posted in alphabetical order, beginning with Belle Plaine and ending with Waconia. Spectators: The doors will open to the public at 11:00am. Admission will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. Ticket sales will begin at 10:30 am.this event will be double sided. There will be a sign outside of the gym directing spectators to their appropriate side. Trainer: A certified trainer from Ridgeview Sports Medicine will be available starting at 8:00am. Concessions/Merchandise: A variety of items will be for sale at the concession stand located near the entrance of the gymnasium. We will also have a limited quantity of Section 3AA Tournament T-shirts available on the day of the competition along with flowers and treats to buy for your dancer. 5 Coming from the East on Hwy 12: Turn right at the stoplights at Tiger Drive. Go straight until you enter Delano Schools campus. Coming from the West on Hwy 12: Turn left at the stoplights at Tiger Drive Go straight until you enter Delano Schools campus. Again, buses will drop dancers off in LOT #4 at Door #15. After drop-off buses will park at LOT #5 at the Intermediate School parking lot. At the conclusion of the meet, buses can pick dancers up at the font of the building in the pick up lane.
