The Citizens Police Academy offers an inside view of the Waupun Police Department, and an overview of many different areas of today s law enforcement. MANY THANKS A heartfelt thank you goes out to the great group of people who helped make the Open Space area on E. Main Street look festive for the holidays. Thank you to Jim Grant for donating trees for this area and for coordinating the cutting, hauling, staking and tying of the trees in the open space. This is laborsome work and we appreciate your efforts and generosity! The Academy will be held on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, beginning on January 21, 2015 and ending March 18, Interested parties are encouraged to go to the Waupun Police Department website for additional information. Applications are available on the website, at the Boy Scout troop 711 and Cub Scout pack 3777 (pictured above) strung lights on the Christmas trees. Thank you to these groups for eagerly taking on this Waupun Police Department (16 E. Main St.), or at the end of the newsletter. Please return completed applications to the Waupun Police Department by January 5, project with little notice! Neighboring tenant Vicki Ganz is donating the electricity to light the Christmas trees. Thank you Vicki!

The City of Waupun contracts with Waupun Taxi to provide sharedride taxi services within the city. For the City of Waupun, Aldermanic District 1, 3, and 5 seats are up for re-election at the Spring Election on April 7, The Aldermanic District 1 is currently occupied by Julie Nickel; Aldermanic District 3 is occupied by Ryan Mielke, and Aldermanic District 5 is occupied by Michael Johnson. OUT AND ABOUT WITH MAYOR KYLE Please be informed that Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Registration Statements have been received and filed in the City Clerk s office from all three incumbents. Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Registration Statements are to be submitted to City Bowling at Jud-sons with new friends from the Special Olympics. Non-Profit Press AVENUE OF ANGELS HOLIDAY PARADE to bring you a one of a kind Christmas Concert! Tickets are $20 balcony, $25 main floor. Photo by Larry Duer LIVE NATIVITY DEC. 18 & 19 A live outdoor Nativity scene will be presented by members of Waupun United Methodist Church on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 18 and 19 in front of the Wesley Center at South Forest Street (across from the Waupun Public Library). Post 6709 stand by the new large NAPA handicap wheelchair accessible veteran's blind they donated 50% of the cost to for the Heroes' Hunt for Wounded Warrior Project in Waupun, which provides hunting opportunities for Wisconsin's injured and disabled veterans. Hunters will have a roof over their head and a heater to stay warm. A ramp leads to the blind which is located on the site of a retired Waupun landfill where numerous deer and turkeys roam the area. It's a way of thanking these men for their service to our country and helping to heal some of the mental wounds of combat. 6 2015 Waupun Citizens Police Academy Application Form The Waupun Police Department is proud to host its 2015 Citizens Police Academy. This program is being offered free-of-charge to all approved City of Waupun residents. Class sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 pm, beginning January 21, 2015 and ending March 18, Sessions will include defense and arrest tactics/use of force, crime scene investigation, traffic accident investigation, K-9 unit, communications, traffic stops/owi enforcement, firearms, and court/prosecution. Applications for Waupun area residents 18 years of age or over are being accepted through January 5, 2015, by the completion and submittal of this application form. Applicants who are approved will be notified and will be given additional program details by , mail, or phone.
